    Awesome idea - poor implementation

    • Written by Frank R from Eagan

The toothbrush itself is great. However connection gets lost a lot, really a lot. Achievements within the app are not reachable, because they reset themselves.

Had the same crack issues as many have reported. Just send the toothbrush back and got a new one, this happened 2 times. Finally we realized that you can only use Colgate toothpaste.,,

    Shoddily made, poor concept

    • Written by Mitch D from CANFIELD

I have thrown this away after 3 months. The position sensors/algorithm didn't work. The plastic at the base cracked. The charging function stopped.

This is an overpriced piece of junk.

The Colgate website didn't respond to complaints. Apple referred complaints to Colgate.

    Poorly executed item- returned

    • Written by Sam P from Summit Lake

This was a poor excuse for a smart electric tooth brush I purchased it out of trust for Apple products- DO NOT BE FOOLED. The item does not function properly-it does not detect which teeth are being brushed leaving a useless score. The brush is ineffective in cleaning teeth. The app is not at all helpful and is in fact misleading. Do not recommend. I returned the item

    Underwhelming

    • Written by Sarah M from Springfield

The brushing felt uncomfortable compared to my previous brush. The app seemed nice at first but the "tracking" was very hard to interact with. I would be brushing my teeth in the EXACT way that the app shows me to do and it wouldn't be counting the brushing on my "coverage" score. I would strain to follow the instructions perfectly and end up with a 79%. The game mode (for a child) seemed just as troublesome with control as it felt like trying to perform surgery with a Wii remote.

Compared to a basic vibrating brush, I wouldn't say this earned the extra $50 it costs.

    Hates Lefties

    • Written by Mark R from Brooklyn

    Hates Lefties and Peroxide toothpastes

    2/5 well that not good
    1) instructed to brush with right hand so brush can properly track. I’m a leftie.
    2) the bottom internal gasket is swelling, causing brush to crack and pieces fall off.

I do think the new Colgate ultrasonic toothbrush with AI works very well.
Especially if right-handed as that is the only way I can get it to track front of incisors.

That said, apparently they didn’t account for peroxide toothpaste (which they make also) that cause the internal gasket to swell and the brush to crack.

I will be getting replacement, but that’s after I return this and wait two, maybe three weeks.

I did suggest to Colgate the following two tenets:
    1) Some companies will ship a replacement, and get the customer’s credit card info, so they can charge the customer if the returned product is not defective. This way the customer is not inconvenienced by not having the product.
    2) When a product fails outright (e.g. photos sent of obvious defect) the company will usually send a replacement ASAP without even getting CC info!

    Needs work

    • Written by Lawrence L from Englewood

Worked sort of for two days. Then I lost bluetooth connectivity and it did not connect. Will try again to see if I can get it to work, before I contact Colgate.

Cannot return to Apple Store. Have to go through Colgate.
