    Really Slow Wireless Charge

    • Written by Nam V from Bronx

I have no choice but to return the product since it takes 3 hours to charge my iphone xs max wirelessly. If I use the cable then it only takes an hour which is acceptable. But the wireless charging is totally unacceptable.

    Disappointed after opening the box

    • Written by Alex L from Scottsdale

I went to the Apple store today and the staff told me that there would be a lighting to usb cable included inside the box to charge the battery pack. But when I got home and opened the box, I didn’t see the cable so I decided to search online to see if it actually included a charging cable and was disappointed to see that there were none. For the price of $99.95 for just a battery pack without a cable to charge is pretty ridiculous.

    Disappointing on a few levels

I was really excited to get this charger, as I travel a lot and was hoping to be able to use it to charge my phone and my watch (via an apple watch charger) both overnight and on the go, and to eliminate a couple charging adapters in the process. There were a few things that made this a pipedream:

    1) Most disappointing, I discovered that this will ONLY charge through the wireless Qi charger while it's plugged into the wall. While the battery itself is plugged in and charging, the USB port to charge another wired device is disabled. I found this out when I plugged my watch in and set my phone on the charger overnight and work up to discover a nearly dead watch. So you have a choice to make - Charge your phone and another device, OR charge your phone and the Mophie Powerstation. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Goodbye dreams of a lighter load in my backpack. I still need to carry two additional charging adapters.

    2) It's got a white LED on it that remains on while it's charging. It doesn't seem very bright, until you wake up at 2am and feel like it's illuminating the room. If you sleep with a bright alarm clock or something like that this probably won't bother you, but I like it as dark as possible and this felt like a spotlight compared to what I'm used to.

    3) I knew this going in, but it's worth noting that you always have to hold the button on the side to enable Qi charging, even it the battery is plugged into the wall. Would be nice if it's just always ready as long as it's plugged in.

In the end, I sadly returned this to the Apple store. In all fairness, I've looked for a battery that's capable of wireless charging AND charging 1 or more wired to no avail. It seems that this is a harder problem to solve that I'd assumed. I'll just wait for somebody to come up with a more full featured portable charger.

Works fine but is very slippery.

I have no complaint about the wireless charging function...it works great. The problem i have is keeping the phone on top of it. The powerstation case is very smooth and i do not have a case on my phone so the phone simply slides until it no longer charges or falls off the charger. Maybe when i get a phone case this will no longer be an issue. Outside of this issue the product deserves a 5 start rating. I will revise rating if i can if a phone case solves the issue.
