    Airport Express

Just purchased this yesterday to extend my wifi range for Apple TV in family room, and it WORKS LIKE A CHARM! Streamed all movies and content from internet connection through Comcast and had no stops or pauses playing them. It truly did extend my signal further out to the other end of the house, thank you Apple!

    Awesome product

I was using a Netgear router and my housemate's 2.4GHz phone was cutting me off the internet constantly. I picked up this little gem of a router and the problem has been solved. I'm using it with a Macbook Pro. My roommate uses an old pc laptop so she still gets booted off the internet when she uses the phone since her laptop doesn't have 5GHz receptivity.

The signal from this router is stronger than the Netgear one, with a much smaller and more elegant footprint no less. We both get strong signal throughout our 2 bedroom apartment. Great product Apple!

    easy to setup

I plugged it in in my family room and before I could walk to my Mac, my son called out that Airport Utility had spontaneously opened on his Mac. In moments, I had clicked to add the Express to our home network, checked iTunes and saw it was already listed as a selection to play AirTunes. I can't imagine anything easier.

    Works Great in 5G mode

I had bought and returned three wireless routers from best buy until I finally talked to geek squad and they recommended the Apple airport express or extreme. I now have no problems with new iPad mini or my iPad second gen loosing connection while on the 5 gh connection. A Belkin and two different net gears would keep kicking me off. Thanks geek squad and apple.

Been using one for about a year...

Best router I've owned by far. In the year I've been using it haven't had to reset it once. A little disappointed by the lack of wireless AC support and actually bought a non apple $150 AC router to see if it would be worth the upgrade... Long story short I'm back to the express as the primary router for our home and it meets our needs. Internet speeds at around 70mbps in our home although I wish the range was a little better (Get outside of the house and the signal disappears) - if I were to upgrade it would be to the airport extreme, but I couldn't be happier with the reliability. Honestly the main reason why I will not ever buy another brand again after going through several others in the last few years (Linksys, Asus, Netgear) was the rock solid reliability offered by our little Apple router. Zero buyers remorse.

Easy to Install, Easy to Use

To be honest I am not an expert of networking stuff. I have used many different kinds of wireless routers. While most of them do work, they need some knowledge to setup and maintain, many times I encountered unknown disconnections and I had to restart them and prayed the problems get solved.
Then I read a lot of information on AirPort, and Apple released the new generation, so I decided to get one. It ended up to be a great decision.
The install was really easy, just like all Apple products, and the AirPort Utility app gives great visual information on the networking, and changing setup is so easy too. Also the WiFi is very stable, all wireless devices working great! I never see the connectivity limited icon again!
Plus I haven't even put good use for the AirPlay function or connecting printer yet.
In conclusion, great product! Worth the money!

    Works with Uverse

I purchased the new AE to expand my wireless area in my house and allow for greater flexibility of device locations. I have a PC with Win 7 64 and my internet comes by way of AT&T Uverse. the RG Uverse supplies operates on 802.11g and my PC is wired in. I needed to move my PC to an area where there were no ethernet outlets and at temps of 105 outside, I really did not want to be in my attic running new wires. I also had some dead spots in my master suite. This little unit works like a charm, I had to use my iPad to configure it but there really was not much to it. My only complaint would be that I have no idea how to configure it with a PC. I am writing this review on my PC that is now wireless, and my iPad, iPhones, iPods and Apple TV's are all working perfectly and I can still connect to my set top boxes with my Uverse remote app. At a $100 bucks a pop you really can't beat the ease of connection. I may get one more for my master suite just so I can place my tv where ever I so desire.

    Great Extender

I bought this as an extender for my wifi outside. I have a ranch style house and the router is at the opposite of my back patio. Reception there is mediocre. I added the airport express and in less than 2 minutes from connecting with the app, we were up and operating. Everywhere outside is now speedy and hassle free. Don't know how it would work as a primary router, but as an extender it's rock on.

Great Product and some help with setup

This is a wonderful product. As to the one star reviews I encountered a similar problem where it keeps asking for the password but there is a simple solution for most I think. If you are using it to extend the range on your existing extreme router for example, when you get to the part where it wants the password to connect it. It doesn't want the password you would normally use to connect a device to your wireless. It wants the password for the main router itself that you setup the day you put it in. Once you know this and enter that password problem solved. Hope it helps someone.

If it doesn't work perfectly just exchange it

Please don't be discouraged by the one star reviews stating this unit doesn't work. It should work perfectly, and if it doesn't, just exchange it: I purchased this unit for my daughter to extend the range of our wireless network (served by an older Airport Express) to her room and allow her to stream music. I know one should be able to plug the unit in, set it up in under 15 minutes, and have it to work flawlessly for years. However, setting this unit up failed several times requiring hard resets. Once finally set up, every device in my house could connect to this unit except my daughter's iPhone 4S running iOS 6. A call to AppleCare determined that the unit was indeed faulty, and the Apple store cheerfully exchanged it for another. The second unit was a breeze to set up, and has been working perfectly in every way, as it should.

Using as the Ethernet source to my HTR-4065 Yamaha

Just got a new 5.1 channel Yamaha receiver from Costco. It has AirPlay but only an ethernet port. I used the AirPort Express to wirelessly connect to my existing Linksys WRT400N dual band wireless router. The AirPort Utility walked me through the process although some of the questions the wizard asked me took some time to figure out and I did reset the unit to factory defaults a couple of times because I messed it up. Now the soft green light is on and my Yamaha stereo is happy. The AirPlay feature on my iPhone actally wakes the receiver up from standby and out comes music. Too cool

So Good, I own Five of Them!

I first used the Gen I Express to create a wifi network in my apartment while on vacation in Italy. The landlord was so impressed, the next year he put them in all the apartments.

I use a Gen II (hard-wired) to extend the wifi upstairs in my old house. This little gem is so, so versatile. Also, I use three of them (Gen I) around my house to connect my various stereo systems to Airplay. You don't need to buy an Airplay receiver, just slap one of these babies on with a Toslink or RCA cable and you're good to go.

The only thing I would like to see is for it to have Gigabit ethernet jacks for faster throughput. Otherwise, it's perfect!

    Love Apple

Walked into the Apple Store with my kids, & got pointed to the Acc's wall. Grabbed the AP Base Station box, about the size of my fist. Walked to one of the 50 associates on the clock. Checked out in 24 seconds. Left.

Total time of transaction — 2 min's tops (maybe less).

Got home. Total setup time — 4 min's tops.

I could have ordered over the Web with free shipping — but I wanted to swing by the store again.

    Why? B/c it's beautiful.

    I. Love. Apple.

    The best router ever!!!

Before Airport Express I had a Linksys from Cisco, and it hardly speeded with 20-30 Mbps from 100 Mbps maximum (contractual). With the Airport Express I'm browsing the internet with around 90-95 Mbps which is excellent! Moreover, is small and very easy to configure, which makes it perfect for my living room.

    Flawless and easy set up

Bought an AP Express to extend my network from an Extreme Base Station since I am in a ranch type house and the reach of the network on one side the house would leave speed and connectivity some room for improvements.

Very happy, received, connected in a snap, and Voila! The connection is that side of the house is now super fast (FIOS) and no regret, this thing work marvels!

The best router I have used

First let me say I have used a large amount of different routers over the past 12 years. This is the first router that has never disconnected regardless if it's the MacBook Pro with the retina display, standard MacBook, Xbox 360, iPhone or iPad. My current Internet connection is 40 GB per second download 5 GB per second upload it has never dropped or lost signal while playing video games, downloading apps, etc. It does have only one RJ-45 output but everything in my house is wireless so that does not bother me at all. As for the configuration it was all automatically configured and the only configuring I did with the Apple airport express was to create a second network for guest users and set up passwords. The Apple airplay and network printer/scanner was all plug-and-play and required no configuring whatsoever. I've had this express base Station for a couple months and had zero problems with it so I highly recommend this product and I definitely give it a five out of five.
