    Ridiculous for the price

This is the 2nd cord I've bought in 2 years. Mine keeps coming apart where u plug it into the computer. Considering the cost of the computer, & now the chargers, these cords should be make with a higher quality material. Very annoyed & disappointed!!

These cables are a disaster and absolute rip off

Apple's chargers used to last years, equivalent to the quality of any other PC brand. Over the last few years they have changed the design of the plastic insulation, which literally disintegrates. Given the outrageous cost of these cables in comparison to other brands, and the fact that you are forced to use them, I'd advise against anyone who hasn't yet converted to using their computers not to do so, as the cost in charges alone vastly inflates the cost of owning a mac.

    Too Flimsy

Basically this is a very disappointing chord and the worst part about the mac book. These things last less than a year with gentle use, the cord just isn't strong enough, which is strange because the part that plugs into the wall is very heavy duty and lasts longer than the computer, considering the price of replacing this and how often you need to (after 4 months my new cord is already showing troubles, my last one lasted a year). Mag-safe 2 isn't worth it if you need to spend a hundred dollars a year just to be able to charge.
This seriously is making a strong case for making the switch back to windows computers or at least to linux.

In comparison my magsafe 1 lasted 3 years before needing replacing and the chargers for non-mac computers, that I've encountered, last a similar or better length of time

    Garbage :(

My MacBook Pro is not quite 4 years old, and here I am, preparing to buy the 4th power adapter for it. I bought it in England, and when I moved back to the US 6 months later I used it with a plug adapter and wasn't too surprised when it stopped charging after a few months. Before that the wires had frayed at the base of the magnet connector. It was within the 1st year, so Apple replaced it for free, with a US Power Adapter. The following year, after about a year, (the wires having begun to fray at the same spot long since--seems to be a separate issue) the cord broke off from the magnet. I could still push the pins in and get a charge, but they didn't stay long. I even superglued it once or twice, but eventually it just didn't work any more. The exact same thing happened to this one not one year later. Fortunately I had bought the Apple Care plan, so Apple replaced those last two adapters without charge. Last night the same thing happened to my 3rd one. The cable just pulled free from the magnet, pins attached (wires had begun fraying long ago). This one isn't even superglue-able. Apple Care is expired, I'll shell out the money for a 4th adapter, but I'm really disgusted with this yearly hassle and expense. Apple can do much better than this!

    3 years = 4 chargers

I love my MacBook Pro, but its MagSafe Power Adaptor falls inexplicably short of Apple's usually high standard. I am now purchasing my 4th charger before my computer's 4th birthday. I bought an Apple for its dependability, but I have been plagued by power issues.

    Who makes this junk?

I've been a Mac person since 2002 and have owned iPods, iPads, laptops, Mac Minis, Apple TV, and various other products. These adapters are without a doubt the worst product that Apple offers.
I've had my current laptop since 2009, and I am online now to by my SIXTH! power adapter for it. The first one lasted about two years, but since then it's been a maximum of 6 months and a minimum of about 30 days.
If we want to continue using the computers, what choice to we have but to continue buying this horrible product?

On my 3rd charger in 2.5 years!!!

The original charger that came with my MacBook Pro lasted a little over 2 years. Bought a replacement at the apple store and it died a little under 2 months later. Now on my 3rd charger so I'm crossing my fingers. I would expect this kind of thing from other computer companies, but not apple. I love all apple products, but I am slowly starting to hate their computers because of this issue. I will be seriously considering other laptop manufacturers when it is time for a new one.

    Major Problem

I've had my MacBook for nearly 6 years. In that time I've gone through 4 power cords. Why? Because the cord keeps breaking at the base. I've tried using the sides that flip up to store it. I've tried placing a ball between the box and the cord when I wrap it so that the cord isn't bent too directly. Nothing works. Isn't the point of a laptop so that you can take it with you? Well that usually includes taking the power cord, but this is clearly an issue when I have gone through 4 of them in 6 years. I love my Mac, but I am exhausted with every 18 months buying a new power cord for $80 a pop.

    Stop Working

I bought my MacBook Pro in June of 2010 and in less than two years the charger stopped working. I could leave it plugged in all day and my laptop won't charge at all, the light doesn't turn on - not green for charged or orange for charging. It hasn't been mishandled at all, it just one day stopped working. And that a new one is $80 is a little ridiculous, to say the least.

    Poor Quality

I have only had my laptop for a few months and the power adapter that came with it (which is this one) has already shorted out. I assume it's from it bending from the magnet connection the way that it is. I am beyond upset that I have to shell out $85 to replace this. I love Mac, but I'm very disappointed in this product. I expected more.

4 chargers stopped working in 1 month

This is sad. 6 month old 13 inch macbook. Now allow me to describe The issues iv had over the past 1 month.
1- This charger came with the computer it lasted a good few months but than began to flicker then while adjusting the head of the charger it actually fell off.
2- This charger was one that had been borrowed from the school district (my moms a teacher) The chord got frayed and stopped working although it gave me a good shock when i was unplugging it.
3- This is ANOTHER charger borrowed from the school district just like the first one The head of the charger was the issue although the head did not fall off it just flickered unless positioned right but it stopped working in a week. I now have to return 2 broken chargers to the school
4- I went back to the apple store with my first charger to get it replaced. They replaced it and I was using it but it just stopped charging my computer for no reason. I have taken good care of all these chargers and they are extremely poorly made. I would expect more from apple

    Hate this thing

Don't get me wrong - I love the MacBook, but this is the SECOND charger that has died on me in one year's time. SECOND. And I'm ticked. There's another $79 plus shipping down the tubes. Very, very, very unhappy.

    College Students Already Pay Enough

    Dear Apple,

I'm currently an undergrad sophomore studying psychology. I have two assignments due tomorrow and three more due on wednesday, all of which have to be typed, and my computer's charger stopped working this morning.

So, naturally, I go to buy a new one from my bookstore, which is a certified apple seller. Great. Same prices.

I was thinking, "Oh boy it's gonna stink to have to spend 40, maybe 50$ on a new charger. But hey, if I gotta do it, fine. This is for school." Boy was I wrong.

I arrive at the bookstore and they tell me it costs not 40, not 50, not even 60, but 80 dollars for a new charger.

Oh, sorry. Not 80. It costs 79.

I cannot believe that you, Apple, are so pretentious and snobby enough to release chargers that hardly even work at a price that is higher than the amount of money I make in half a week. I already paid over a thousand dollars to use your macbook pro, which shows me more rainbow spinny wheels than I would see if I worked at a carnival (where things are cheap and fun, I might add).
Apple, I'm sorry, but I'm breaking up with you.

    Okay, Okay, I'm done ranting.

I just wanted to let you know that I am now dropping out of college because I won't be able to get this assignment in on time due to the fact that my computer is dead and I cannot charge it.

I'm typing this on a chromebook that I borrowed from my friend, by the way. Cheap charger + Great computer. I hate you.

Have a great time living your life with poor people's money, Apple. I hope you are happy that you've ruined the dreams and hopes of yet another college student living in America just trying to get by.

    Sincerely,
    A College Dropout

    Bad quality

I have some pretty old laptops (HP, ASUS, DELL), and I've never had to replace power adapters on any of those laptops. The 60W magsafe of my Macbook though broke--the wire broke just outside the small white box. So, I had to replace it. I wasn't going to pay over $100 for a new Apple one, so I bought a generic one. I was expecting a good quality power adapter from Apple, but now I am quite disappointed. Apple should really improve the quality of this product. Shame on Apple if they don't.

    Flawed design

I have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro and have gone through seven of these chargers over the years. Every single cord has kinked, frayed or torn where the cable meets the MagSafe head.

    Seriously Apple????!!!!!

Just bought my third charger in the last two years. The first one that came with the laptop severed near the adapter box (if that's the right term for it) and they wouldn't replace it because my warranty had run out. Now this one has disconnected itself from where it plugs into the laptop.
I'm so sick of having to buy these things. I expected better from apple. Really disappointed

Should be ashamed to put out such a poor product

This is my 3rd power adapter for my macbook! They all break. The cord at the base of the box cracks and exposes the wires. You'd think the geniuses at Apple could fix this! I guess they are really not geniuses at all. Unless this is all part of their plan to make more money off of us! I wish I could rate this product 0 stars!
