    These chargers are terrible.

I take excellent care of my electronics, but these chargers aren't good. They need a much more solid design. I shouldn't have to bend the cord around randomly to try and get a charge out of it.

    Found the Problem!

I've had my 15" MacBook for almost a year now and I was really concerned when it stopped charging, the light on my power adapter wouldn't turn on and the computer wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in. The problem started out intermittently, I would plug the cord in and the either the light wasn't on or the computer wouldn't recognize it was charging. For a few days I simply had to unplug the cord from the wall and computer and replug it in in (to wall then computer, never computer then wall) and it would start charging again.
Eventually it stopped working all together. Reading all the reviews online I was sure my charger had completely died and that I would have to get a whole new one. I called the 1-800-MY-APPLE in case the problem was fixable.

IT WAS. Please, please PLEASE TRY THIS BEFORE YOU BUY A NEW CORD. I would've been beyond PO'ed if I'd bought a new cord just to find this was the problem all along. The tech support guy instructed me to push the small metal prongs inside the magsafe connector (the part that plugs into the comp) in and out several times, because sometimes debris can become caught inside it. MY LAPTOP IS NOW CHARGING! He did say to keep an eye on it and that sometimes they do completely die, But at least I know that my adapter can and probably will last longer than a year!

    It broke again

The cable of this charger is so easy to brake and the price is so expansive that I considere it completely inappropriate to sell such a bad quality product at such a price.

I wish I could give NEGATIVE stars!

First I have to say....I LOVE MY MAC. It's sentimental to me because I bought it while deployed in 2008. However, I now have to buy another charger because the craftsmanship of this product is subpar. My cord is frayed and I'm surprised it hasn't caused an electrical fire in my home. For an 80 dollar charger, you would expect it to last at least 3 years or more. I seriously think it's time for a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. This is criminal!

    Terrible Quality

Apple needs to improve the quality of its product. I barely had my MacBook Pro for 9 months and this thing just dies. Never really travel with this laptop because it's personal and yet I am forking over $80 for a new one. Travel and beat up my HP work laptop outlet for years without replacing it.

Nice design and intuitive system but the quality is lacking in a major way for these apple accessories. I feel robbed.

    Absolute Garbage...

I take good care of all of my stuff, yet some how I have gone through 4 of these stupid power supplies in the 3 years I've had my computer.

All of them break due to the weak joint in the power connection. I'm really upset about the low quality of these joints.

    Easily Broken

I've had this charger appox. 5 months, and I started having problems with the charger 1-2 months ago, sometimes it wouldn't charge and sometimes the charger head would feel really hot. It has broken completely yesterday. It is not worth buying a $80 replacement as a Highschool student, that is fraeking expensive.

I would give it 0 stars if possible

I have bought two of these chargers in the past year, and both of them have split and fallen apart. Its extremely frustraiting considering that they are $80. Apple needs to improve the durability of them asap.

    Garbage.

If I could give zero stars on this product I would. I've had my MacBook Pro for 5 years and I'm already on my 4th charger. I NEVER travel with my power adapter but somehow it always frays. It's literally garbage and so expensive. This is so badly flawed that it should have a lifetime warranty. Hate, hate, hate this power cord.

    Not worth it

My power cable just broke.. again. This is the third I've gone through in 4 years. They don't last and they're not worth the 80$. I would recommend going to a second hand store where you can find them for closer to 15$. Not even sure if they're worth that. Anyway, don't waste your money here. Like everyone else, I love my computer, love the mac but the chords are the worst.

    Fraymageddon

I don't think I'm adding anything new to the conversation but I am having the same problems as everyone else it seems. My power cord is now frayed and I will have to purchase a new one for $80??? Why so expensive for something that doesn't last? I don't abuse my equipment but it seems that no matter how good of care you take of these power cords they end up fraying. That really stinks Apple! Love your computers, not a fan always of your accessories/cables, thanks!

    Absolute Junk

I have gone through 3 of these things in 4 years. At 80 bucks a pop I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth it for a 4 year old laptop. The folks at Apple, of course, will tell you it's user error. Yet, I have adapters from other laptops that have lasted the better part of 10 years with daily use. Apple, I know a sturdier piece may not look as pretty, but it's time to do something about it. This is 2 or 3 failed adaptor designs in a row, stop calling it "user error", drop the excuses and do something about it.

    Embarrassingly defective

I have replaced this plug before because of the same problem. The wires pull from the L portion of the plug, and that makes charging the Macbook dangerous and sometimes impossible. However, for $80 we deserve a better and safer product. One of the teeth actually dislodged from the plug and remained in my surge protector. This lack of integrity is a breeding ground for disaster. Come on Apple! Do better!

AWFUL! Needs to be redesigned ASAP

An expensive POS that needs to be replaced annually. It's useless when the exterior breaks and the wires fray. Also, the power adaptor is big and bulky. When I use the extension cord, which is frequently because the actual cord doesn't reach anything, it's obnoxious to have a large square in the middle of the cord. It weighs it down & it's not functional. How many reviews will it take till you make a half way decent product?

    Overpriced for the durability

I'm on my third adapter and all of them are worn prematurely. The cord wears out at exactly the same spot, ie at the connector. I take good care of my expensive Apple gear, I never twist or stress the cord and I don't even use it outside of my home. Given that this happens over and over again this is clearly a design mistake. Unforgivable for the price Apple asks.

    Broken Charger

Reading the reviews should wake the people at Apple up. The common thread is that the cords fray and become unusable. I take great care with my MacBook Pro and yet my cord frayed in the same place most of the other reviewers cords did. I only use it at home so I never wrap the cord and always let it lie straight from my laptop. The MacBook Pro is great, but the cords are garbage.

    What were they thinking?

This is by far the worst product ever made. I've had my macbook since August 2011 and I'm going on my 4th charger. They can make a computer that last's forever, but not a charger.

The worst part is they know it doesn't work, but continue to sell them. They really need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

    Breaks too easily

This product seems like it is manufactured to break. Make a more durable and cheaper design. This is trash for the amount of money it costs.
