    Shock

These were great until they gave me an electric shock in my ear three times in a row.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Necessary alternative to hard non-isolating buds

I cannot rightly comprehend why Apple deliberately moved towards hard earbuds that don't form noise-isolation vacuum seals a la earplugs. Without noise isolation, the volume must be significantly increased to drown out background noise, and without a vacuum seal, the earbuds can fall out of the ear.

I got my first pair of these (possibly an earlier model) when the original hard Apple earbuds came out ~5 years ago and they finally died after thousands of hours of gym use. I am happy that Apple has continued to provide a 'soft, isolating' alternative to its hard buds.

    Shocking experience

I am not sure if others have had a similar experience but when I use these for conference calls sitting at my desk whenever I move I actually get a shock inside my ear from the ear piece. Is it not very pleasant to get shocked in your ear! I would not recommend these for the money. If the normal Apple ear buds actually stayed in my ear I wouldn't have spent the money on these. You can get the same quality sound without the shock in your ear from Skull Candy and other ear buds.

    BEWARE: Silicone Ear Piece DANGER

One of the silicone ear pieces came off and worked its way deep into my ear canal. It caused pain, inflammation, and hearing loss (that I hope will return to normal). IT HAD TO EXTRACTED WITH TWEEZERS. My ear canal is still sore and inflamed, and my hearing level is limited. BEWARE..

The people giving these low reviews aren't using them correctly

While it's obvious that it's much easier to get good sound out of the stock earbuds, I think that the sound from these is ultimately better. Here's the trick: while the earbuds have their own built in resonance chamber, these use your ear canal as the resonance chamber. In order to get the high fidelity sound and full, crisp bass response, you practically have to have them inside your ear. It's why I give them 4 instead of 5 stars. They just aren't very good "walking around" earphones because it's too hard to keep them well positioned if you're moving. While sitting at a desk, with the earphones properly positioned, the sound is glorious. Also these won't make your ears hurt for days after an hour of use like the earbuds. In fact, I wear them for up to 8 hours a day while I work and don't experience any pain at all. Just make sure you keep your ears clean ;-)

I wish they would make these wireless instead of those terrible earpods

These headphones are the best, most underrated apple product. I don't understand most of the low reviews as my experience has been amazing. The bass is nice, the sound is clean and crispy and the silicon tip fit, once you find the right size, is great. I have had two pairs in the past 8 years (the first pair was destroyed on accident, not an product failure) and I've had my current pair for 3 years and still love them. Two small complaints I have is 1, they need to make a pair with the lightning adapter, I have mine tied around the one that comes with the phone. 2 I have to super glue the silicon tips on, otherwise they come off way to easy. Once I glued each one though I've been golden.

I fall asleep with these every night of my life

I love these headphones. Love. They are more comfortable than anything else on the market, and I use them as earplugs every night so I can sleep through whatever happens in my apartment building. I don't sleep well without them now.
PLEASE APPLE: make an Airpods version of these, AND a lightning connector of these. I'll buy both and maybe 2 of each so I can have backups like I currently do of these headphones.

    VERY poor quality sound!

I got these thinking they would be a step up from the stock earbuds I get with the iPhone, but WRONG. Sounds like I'm listening to music out of a tin can. While they are very comfortable, the sound quality is close to a dollar store pair of headphones. Absolute sh&t, for lack of a better word. Avoid at all costs.

    Apple EarPods

I have been buying apple EarPods for years to use with my iPhone. Never used to have any problems with them, they used to last for about at least 2 years. But the last ones I bought didn't even last me 6 months, the mic side headphone stopped working. I called apple about it, but I was told that the 1 year warranty doesnt mean anything because I don't have apple warranty on my iPhone anymore. I think the quality on apple products has gone down. I don't think I am going to be spending that extra money for apple accessories when the quality is not there....

Worse sound than earbuds. Much worse.

I love my iMac. I have enjoyed immensely my iPhones, from the very first one to my current 6s. But with the change to lightning connectors and airbuds the handwriting is on the wall for the 3.5mm connector.

But look! Apple has earphones, not just earbuds for the 3.5.

If you want to pay over twice as much as earbuds then to be rewarded with worse sound for phone calls (it is an iPhone after all) than late 60's office intercoms (they were a thing, a horrible sounding thing). This is the product that will make it happen. As to music, don't even try. No bass. None. Listen to all of your music, or something, was the promise. But not with apple's earphones. Because they are dramatically worse than earbuds.

Unusable. Unbelievably so. For a company that is so committed to music and music appreciation to produce an audio product this bad is mind boggling.

    Rubbish

This was without my worst purchase, ever. At the price, and with the Apple trademark, you may expect the best headphones ever...oh no. Within weeks one of the headphones had reduced output...this can be changed, but more importantly, the design is at fault as the weight of the product isn't carried by the in ear design meaning that the headphones keep falling out he ear...no matter which fitting is used. What a waste of money.

    Horrible

The day that I can finally put apple headphones and not have the outside world drown out my music is when you can say they're "revolutionary". I hear the persons conversation more then my own music. Definitely has no bass to it. From exprience $10 headphones sound better. Save your $30 and buy something better.

    Elegant and perfect

Perfect sound details; rich and warm bass; equally great for spoken voice and music; total isolation from sorround sounds; and NO DISTORTION. Grids require regular cleaning - just as your ears do :)

    Good

The sound quality is great and they are comfortable to wear. Too bad that the cable close to the jack head rips off just like the charging cable. This model headphones are too old and too be expensive. Apple should've at least drop the price by now. Good quality but not durable.

    Apple headphones

These are the worst headphones apple has made by far. I am going on my third pair of headphones for my iPhone 7 because they continue to break and it always is the connection into the port. Quit being cheap apple!

Please update these for iPhone 7+

I love these buds. I have a few pair actually.
But now I have to use the lightning converter in order to use with my iPhone7 Plus.

I am on the search for similar buds with the lightning connector. I hope you guys decide to update these.

    Thanks

    Wonderful sound in one earbud

I was so happy with my purchase, and when I plugged them into ipad for a movie on the airplane, they felt and sounded great,....but only on one side. If I wiggled the cord around, sometimes I'd get both sides for about 10 min. Then, the left side would get static and go dead. I returned them to the selling store.

    Good!

These headphones are *far* better than the similar ones made by Beats. The sound is good and the earbuds are very comfortable. The only issue is that I have occasionally lost the rubber part that goes in your ear and Apple doesn't sell replacements.
