I'm disappointed they don't have a new version with lightning port

I love these earphones. I've gone through 2 different pairs in about 6 years. I use them 3-4+ hours a day. They're really comfortable and they don't break. I need to replace my current ones because the wires are starting to show, the ear phones still work though. I was really hoping apple would upgrade them to include lightning port, but so far it doesn't look like it. I'm disappointed because It's difficult to find comfortable earphones.

    Just what I needed!

I have small ear canals, so the standard, included Apple earbuds were *very* insecure (read "useless") when I tried to to use them.

These In-Ear Headphones, however, nestle quite nicely and securely in my ears, and the sound quality is exemplary.

I hope the brand-new Air Pods, which really appeal to me and currently have the same size and shape as the standard earbuds, will also be made available in a model similar to these.

    Love

Please NEVER get rid of these in-ear headphones Apple. I tried them when they first came out and never looked back. Things got even better when the remote was added. They are amazing for studying if you need to block things out, and stay put as long as you have selected the right size. I take them everywhere and don`t even use the protective case, they still last me a few years. If you switch out the wire mesh caps they last even longer. I recently lost my latest pair that I had for 2 years and thought I would try some other brands- they were awful. I don`t understand the low ratings because I only hear beautiful, rich sounds with these. So please Apple keep these forever.

    Had high hopes

Bought these headphones with high hopes but was slightly let down. The headphones have a good build and never slipped out of my ear unlike some other reviews I have read. The sound quality is pretty poor however, especially if you listen to bass heavy genres of music. The headphone lack any real bass to make listening to that type of music enjoyable.

    Best Earphones

I would like to recommend these earbuds, because they are still going strong. Even after rigorous usage the past two years, which has never occurred to me. The Apple In-Ear Headphones are not for your typical EDM-lovers. Since the earphones uses two drivers: one for bass and one for treble. With this mechanism the earphones achieves the maximal performance. Thus the sound is being protruded separately and is not getting distorted. The bass is not too heavy and the mids/highs are extremely clear. If you like natural sounding earphones, then these earphones are perfect for you. Considering the fact that normal IEMs with armatures costs > €150, these earphones have a fairly reasonable price. I bought them for €24,95 on sale.

Best headphones I have ever owned. Period.

First of all, these have the clearest sound quality of any headphone I've tried, barring my HDMI gaming headset. For the price, these have been amazing and also the longest lasting headphones, still going strong at 5 years. The biggest thing is to choose the right size rubber bud piece to fit your ear, and when you do, it will turn them into noise-cancelling headphones.

Now Apple, all you have to do is make these wireless too so I can use this for the iPhone 7, then we'll be cool.

    Great product

Everyone who has written a review saying "its trash" or "they don't fit" either doesn't know how to change the silicone buds or hasn't used them. SMH

    Wonderful sound in one earbud

I was so happy with my purchase, and when I plugged them into ipad for a movie on the airplane, they felt and sounded great,....but only on one side. If I wiggled the cord around, sometimes I'd get both sides for about 10 min. Then, the left side would get static and go dead. I returned them to the selling store.

    Good!

These headphones are *far* better than the similar ones made by Beats. The sound is good and the earbuds are very comfortable. The only issue is that I have occasionally lost the rubber part that goes in your ear and Apple doesn't sell replacements.

One of the worst Apple experience ever

These things are awful. Poor sound quality....and a really poorly conceived design....the ear bud things always come off, get lost, don't stay in....yes you get a few extras but seriously? avoid.

    Great but wont last long

These headphones are by far the best headphones I had, but unfortunately they dont last more than 4 months. If its not the rubber around the cable that breaks down, its the sound that becomes worst (lower frequency).
Last year I bought 3 headphones and this year im on my second... Enjoy them while they last!

Pasy more than $40 for these & you'll be mad. Did the research, read below:

+6/10 - SOUND QUALITY (Only slightly better than standard apple headphones)
+10/10 - LOOKS: (Looks like standard apple headphones, only nicer)
+8/10 - PACKAGING: (looks good but the ear bud holder not holding the earbuds knocked off 2 points)
+2/10 - PRICE: (if standard apple headphones cost $30 - at most - these should be priced at $40 tops. Samsung earbuds w/ same concept/specs/design sell for no more than $5)

No wonder the item is being discontinued. I bought my mine at an apple store for $99, The sound quality over the complimentary iPhone headphones are better, however, not $99 worth better. Not surprised they're being discontinued. I lost the silicon buds (L, M, S, sized) that came in a convenient carrying capsule, unfortunately the capsule doesn't click-to-shut -or as my friend commented "doesn't stay shut). You just have to hope the earbud carrying capsule stays idle while in your purse or the bugs will fall, rendering your expensive new headphones useless. I would recommend buying a little baggy to keep silicon ear buds in bc apple offers no options for replacements (go to amazon for replacement though).

My first negative review, I hate doing it but what a waste of money.

More trouble than they are worth.

Simply put, the silicone ear fittings do not stay on the earbud posts. You will get about 6 weeks of good use out of these and then you will battle the ear pieces to keep the silicone pieces on and the buds in your ears. For something that costs this much, they should be usable for more than 6 weeks.

    Totally not Worth it

Bought these ear phones online, was shocked after looking at these earphones as it's no where comparable for the price i paid, these were as similar as $5 earphones that i can buy in gas stations. Never excepted such a poor quality from APPLE. Finally I would say not worth your money.

    Muffled, consistently inconsistent sound

I have tried every possible ear tip size. These headphone just don't work. The sounds is always muffled in one ear or the other or both. If might work well for three minutes and then the sound becomes attenuated. Mess with it... mess with it... oh there it works. Two minutes later it doesn't work any more. Change earbud size, repeat. It just never works. Waste of money since these will sit in a box once I find more expensive earplugs that do work. I've even unscrewed the screens and swapped them all around and it just doesn't work reliably. The most that I can ever get is 30 seconds of less-muffled-than-normal sound in one ear. Never both. Never more than 30 seconds. Wish I could return these.

    Horrible

The worst headphones ever. Either this pair is broken or they are pure garbage. I am extremely disappointed. The sound quality is horrible. They are flat and the bass sound is a sad joke. What is even more infuriating then the sound quality is the price. I will try to return these tomorrow. I cannot believe these are even manufactured.

Apple should be ashamed ( and I am a self confessed Apple fan boy)

Brought a pair an hour ago at the Hornsby Westfield Apple Store.

Always been quite happily with ear buds but thought surely for $129 they must be a step up.

But honestly I can't believe how bad they sound.

THE worst sounding earphones I've ever owned. Tinny no bass just truly horrible.

I did a direct comparison with my ear buds and they sound a whole lot better.

I tried changing the silicone cushion but that made no difference.

I really expected more from Apple - I am going to take them back right now- means another trip to Westfield but I feel ripped off.

If anyone from Apple would care to respond I'm all ears
