Great size, great product, mediocre price

I mean it's Apple, that's a fact. The 0.5 m Lightning USB cable is great for connecting an iPad for Duet Display or charging an iPhone on the go. Would highly recommend for anyone who likes to go all-Apple.

Apple Diminishing their Brand for no reason

Why Apple pays such close attention to their products, yet continues to package these chintzy charging cords with theirs devices is unfathomable.

I mean I saw Jony Ive essentially bragging to Charlie Rose about precision in the new Apple HQ, where even the area unseen by building patrons is kept tidy and presentable, yet these cords break apart quickly and Apple had done nothing to fix the issue. I truly do not understand.

    Work great!

I have been using two of these cables daily for the past 5 years. Replaced one under warranty during the first year for an intermittent incompatible error message that turned out to be due to an iOS issue, which was later solved. Since then, they have performed flawlessly (but the white surfaces have become a bit dirty so prefer to have a black color option). So, in my long-term experience, these work quite well and I recommend them for routine use.

I opened my new iPhone 8 plus day before yesterday. This morning, I took out this chord so I could charge my phone and play music in my car. THE CHORD DOESNT WORK. It charges my phone for 3 seconds and then stops and repeats this process for as long as I have it plugged in. Y'all are wack for selling this garbage to people and now I have to schedule a trip to the apple store located in the non stop traffic jam that is clybourn, north avenue, and halsted. THANKS LOTS APPLE. I only gave this one star because zero is not an option.

Absolute rubbish. On my 6th cable now!!!
Apple, are you really expecting your customers to put up with this any longer?

    It works great

If those of you who gave a negative review would have read the description and called a rep you would have noticed it's not as thick nor as long as a regular one. These are primarily made for use in a vehicle so they aren't as long nor do they have the thickness. I have the same lightning charger for my phone as I had when the first one came. It is still in great shape and it's been through hades and back, including having a cat that wanted to chew it. This says it is 0.5 m. The others don't. This works great for charging in my car and not having a cord so long. And the charging cable that comes with their products is nice and long unlike other brands. If it's given you a not supported message it is probably what you are plugging it into to get power NOT their own cable. Oh, learn to spell.

    Horrible cable from apple

This is like the 5th time I have to buy a cable. I am so upset about the waste of money. Yet, I have to buy it from apple because when you give other non-apple kinds a try they tend to fail after a while too.

Very disappointing apple. What are you even doing about it?

Every apple charger I buy only lasts atleast 3 months! Never last. I have to go buy a new one all the time.

    The Worst!

As much as I love Apple, the company makes the most fragile accessories and cables. Of course, they are not standard so you have to order from them. They seem to break under normal use and I am always afraid that they will fray and break down.
When you need to use your equipment it is stressful to find out that you can't charge something.

    Apple, start making better cables.

    So bad, so embarrassing

For a company like Apple, or for any company for that matter, it is just downright embarrassing to make a product that consistently fails. I never ever had another cable where the insulation just spontaneously started to fray at the flex points. I've had 2 cables, both gently handled, both failed, with the insulation just fraying from the inside wire.

    Lighting Cable

I have gone through 6 lighting cables in the past 3 months and spent over $80 on lighting Cables. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that the cord breaks and stops working no matter how much I took care of it it continuously broke.

This cord broke in a few months after purchasing new. A cord from a different brand lasted longer. This product is a disgrace to Apple product quality and the company in general. How hard is it to make a decent cord? It's a joke

    Cable is as Cable does

I have several of these in various lengths. Never had a problem with them. I have started to take a liking to the 0.5m cables though. I've twisted them, rolled them, spun them, and haven't had any tear or fray. I fist 'em up and stuff 'em in my backpack, I twist 'em up when connecting devices in the car or in the home. I'm not sure what people expect of these cables, but they do the job. I gave 4 stars because Apple only offers them in white. Just kidding.

I have needed to replace my lightning cable for my iPhone 5 a total of three times now since purchasing it. Unlike the 30pin connector for my 3rd gen ipad, which still works fine, the lightning cable (by Apple) is not suitable for daily use. Regardless it still needs to be used multiple times daily to charge a phone.

    Always Breaking

Never in my life have I had to go though more chargers for just one device. The charger tends to bunch up at the top near the charging port. After it has had enough tension, it'll rip and ruin the inner wires. I've probably bought at least 5 of these in about a year. However, the 2 meter charger cable did last me significantly longer than the .5 meter. I recommend the 2.0 meter if you have issues with the charger cord being too short. Rather than buying $100 worth of cables in a year it's a lot better to buy one $30 and go through two of them. I truly hope Apple will make their cables knit with nylon, as my old nylon cable for my iPhone 5s lasted me well over a year before it took a hit and died out.

    for single use?

if there were the option of zero stars, this would be it.
had the phone6 for a year now, purchased a dozen of chargers (not counting "borrowing mom, dad, sis, bro" chargers).
they were made for single use? for a premium product as Iphone, i was hoping a more rigid charger that would last a year, and not short my laptop & phone. i'll be buying 4 more chargers now, and spend 100$, knowing that in 4 months i'll be back to the shop, and the salesman won't be surprised :(

I stick with genuine Apple cables.

I've tried a few cables that were not made by Apple and they are never worth the money. They break and often don't charge when plugged in. I've never had an issue with genuine Apple chargers and I know now not to bother with other brands. These are well-made and I love that this cable is .5m long. I leave these plugged into my iMac for synching/charging and they are long enough to easily plug into devices but short enough that there isn't a pile of wiring on my desk.

This charger lasts no longer than 5/6 months. This month made the 6th month for my use of the charger and it just went out. I didn't even move it around, it stayed in the same place from the beginning and I was careful with it. Apple needs to do better with the charger! How can you have top of line electronics with worthless chargers?! Can't even keep your things charged.

The chargers breaks too easy. I'm paying a lot for the phone; I should be able to get a quality charger too. Apple makes a new phone every couple of months, but can't make a new charger or at least go back to the old one. I'm convinced they just want us to keep spending money every 4 months on a new charger. Or they could even move where you insert the charger, so you are not bending it as much. Please fix the issue
