Necessary and easy to add on, works very well

I hesitated to purchase this because of so many reviews saying the fit was too tight or it otherwise didn't work. I find it fits all of my usb connections perfectly and works perfectly. I don't know if this is a new and improved version, but it's just a standard adaptor, uncomplicated, works easily.

Works well, but not for your wallet.

It works as intended, so if you really need an adapter, I'd pick up this one. Way too expensive, though.

    Perfect!

For those who complain about the need for too many wires and adapters:
If you choose the right type of adapter, you will only need one or two things, no matter what sort of devices you'd like to connect to your Mac. Camera, Watch, Flash devices, charging things from standard devices, to all your Apple products...literally you will need 2 adaptors and only TWO...Max!!...Really!!

I pair this one, (USB-C to USB Adapter), with "Belkin Micro-USB to USB Cable with Lightning Adapter". Once you pair these two, you literally have all you will need to charge your phone, use flash drives, charge your watch, your standard Not-Apple devices that you will ever need to charge or connect to your Mac Book Pro, even your e-vape.
Any and all are covered and connected and covered with these two adapters... Seriously!!

Even my old Samsung laptop needed more adapters than these to charge my devices.
I just carry these 2 with me, anywhere I go and keep an extra set in my purse...just in case i need to charge my phone in the car...(oh yeah, it also works with your car charger).

    Great stuff!!!

Does what it says on the box.

It works as it should; my USB devices connect to my MacBook Pro without issue, and my USB3 HDD seems to transfer files at a brisker pace than my old 2009 MacBook. In all, it's a fairly decent adapter.

    Works great!

I'm using this to plug in my WD 4 TB backup drive to my 2017 iMac. It works. What more can I say? Plugged in easily to the back of the computer in the appropriate slot. The USB cable from the drive slipped right in and now Time Machine is humming right along. Good deal at $19.

    Amazing

I don't know why most people are saying that it doesn't read USB's and mouses, it works just fine for me and I'm able to plug in my phone charger, my USB's, and my mouse. So its pretty great I don't get why everyones saying its bad.

Works great with G-Tech external drive!

I use this adapter to connect my G-Tech external drive to my 21.5" iMac and it is fantastic. I get data transfer speeds of 350+ MB/s which means SuperDuper! backups only take 10 minutes to perform while transferring over 6GB of data.
    Thanks, Apple!

    Works for me (so far)

I've had the new MBP for about a year. I also use a Thunderbolt external monitor. I used to joke that I wanted the most expensive laptop charger that Apple made. Now I can no longer charge my MBP with the old MagSafe cable on the monitor. I also have to use the Thunderbolt to USB-C adapter for the monitor (it works). That being said, I like the new MBP much better than my older one. As for the adapter, it works great for connecting my printer (when needed due to my wireless being wonky), my ScanSnap scanner, and my iPhone. Yes, it is a pain to use an adapter, but hey, it's a first world problem. As for my CF camera cards, I purchased a USB-C card reader from Amazon and it works great -- lightening fast.

    Day 1

In all fairness, this is only Day 1. But after reading all the negative reviews, wanted to give you my experience. A refurbished MacBook Pro arrived today. Standard disappointment that none of my peripherals would work with it. Called in and registered my complaint. Then did what we all have to do - I purchased 3 adaptors, and took my MacBook Pro to the store to proof them out, as so many people complained. No problems - all three adaptors worked fine and with a gaggle of different USBs. Also, the connections are tight, but I APPRECIATE that! Loose connections become lost connections, so I am happy they have given us a tight fit.

    Works fine for me

Bought the new MacBook Pro 2.9ghz 15" so needed this adaptor to load wedding photos onto USB sticks for customers. Seems to work fine for me. Have also used this adaptor to connect the Apple DVD burner as well as charge the new Apple mouse. So far works as expected....

I have no problems with this one bit at all!

Before you purchase a Mac you should be somewhat computer literate, if your hooking up a Logitech mouse that needs software, and of course you are buying this because you have a new MacBook well it's not going to automatically download the drivesrs that is expected you will have to download everything in Mac format. It works perfectly fine for me and my usb's as well.

    It works!

I'm not sure why this has such a low rating. I've tried it with multiple hard drives and haven't had problems. I regularly back up 3-4GB of data from one hard drive to another and it works flawlessly and extremely fast. Stop whining, and rating the adapter low because you wanted USB-A forever. Do you guys still carry cassette players? Have tube TVs? Upgrade your cables to usb-c so you don't need dongles, and carry this for emergencies or store at home when backing up to old hard drives! Easy as that.

Does what it's supposed to do

Kind of disturbed that the review people find most useful of this product is a commentary of the the 2016 MacBook Pro and NOT of the USB-C to USB-A adapter. As far as this review goes for the actual product....it does what it is supposed to do. I have used it to connect 2 crummy keyboards, 2 different mice, assorted thumb drives, and a Samsung t1 USB 3.1 external drive. I have even remote played a PS4 with the dual shock controller plugged into this adapter. It works for what it is supposd to do. Some have mentioned that it will not connect to certain items. We are talking about a USB port here. Odds are if it won't connect, the item is broken, requires strange drivers, or is improperly formatted. I have had no issues connecting yet, will update if I connect something that won't work.

Using the product for USB flash drive connection

So far I have successfully connected two different flash drives and a hard drive to my MacBook Pro with touchbar and have found the product to work perfectly, both fast and reliably.

    Works fine

This works fine for me. Data transfer is fast and reliable. I haven't had any issues with it. I do with that Apple would come out with their own hub that can connect to the side. I don't want to spend the money on third party ones.

Works great with Macbook pro 2016 with touch bar

I have been mislead by these reviews and thought that it would be an awful product, but still decided to give it a try since it worth only $9. In fact, I have been using this adapter for a month now and it is working great! I didn't notice any problems at all. I would totally recommend it to my friend!!!
