    Jaw-droppingly Terrible Quality and Design!

The only two redeeming attributes of Apple's MacBook's old charging and cord management system have, naturally, been removed from this latest charging iteration by the design geniuses at Apple. No longer does a magnet snap your connection into place, and no longer can you wrap an unsightly cord around the flip-up handles on the back of the adapter.

Instead, I get a connection that's often not even charging my computer until I press in the (seemingly connected) USB-C cable harder, and wait for a tone from the computer to indicate it's charging (if I move my computer I'll likely have to push it back in again).

And don't look for any redemption on quality. These are the same borderline negligent materials they've always used...the kind that fray like that's its core competency. Such a disgrace to an otherwise great product line.

No cable included, no cord management, terrible design

Where to begin? Apple isn't even trying anymore. Just goes to show the lack of care of effort Apple shows its loyal customer base. Zero stars is too much.

I purchased a brand new iPhone 8 in September 2017 and I purchased the 29 watt USB C power adapter a month later for fastest charging possible. I took it with me on vacation in January 2018 and it just stopped working. It would not charge my brand new iPhone 8. Thank goodness I had a reliable 12 watt power adapter with me or I would not have been able to take pictures on vacation. Don’t waste your money on the 29 watt USB C power adapter. I could not believe it just stopped working after 3 months.

    Love it!

I've had this thing for probably two years - got it as a gift - and I'm always impressed at how fast it charges, ESPECIALLY compared to any other charger. I'm buying extras to have everywhere because... why not?

    Absolutely awesome!!!

Just bought this adapter and was well worth the price. Testing out the fast charge capabilities for taking advantage of the USB -C compatibility with IPad Pro 12.9 and iPhone 8+. Starting from 50% charge on iPad Pro running FULL BRIGHTNESS / WIFI AND BLUETOOTH connected to my HK ONYX STUDIO 3 speaker / playing Vainglory for 15mins and rest video play it took 1hr and 15mins to reach 95% charge. Constantly increasing charge without a sign of loss of power. Need I say more. Well worth the price vs my 12W adapter that came with iPad. Strongly suggest purchasing it. Just texted iPhone 8+ running FULL BRIGHTNESS and video playback from 44% to 94% in 1hr 10mins. May not seem like much but when you’re having to wait long periods of time to charge your device with factory adapters, it’s a drastic change.

From 0 to 50% in 28 mins. Works better than expected

Hello. I bought this one and the USB c - lighting cable. I made the test from 0% battery.
So you should get similar results wit this combination: charger 29W + cable USB c + iPhone X 256GB:
    50% at 28mins (fast charge)
    80% at 49mins (fast charge)
    100% at 110mins (normal charge)

won't work for MacBook Pro anymore

I was using 29W adapter for my MacBook Pro 13" since first day. It charges a little bit slow than the original one but the size is small and easy to carry on.

One day in Oct 17 I found it stop working with my Mackbook pro 13". It works fine for other devices like Nintendo switch or iPhone but will not charge my MacBook Pro any more. I believe apple has update something to block it charging. Really sad for that.

    Works great with iPhone 8+

Not much to say really, but it works great with my new iPhone 8+. Noticeably faster than the included charger that came with the phone. I bought the official Apple 2 meter USB C to Lightening cable and it works fine.

Perfect accessory for the new iPad Pro!

To all who gave this a bad "I can't charge my MacBook Pro" reviews...It's not for the MacBook Pro! That takes a 65W charger! NOT a 29W!

That said...it is a very nice addition for the new 10.5 and big iPad Pros! Fast charging at it's best! Highly recommended!

    Quit working after 8 months

Bought this in Dec along with the iPad Pro for my husband. He kept it at our bedside table and only used it there for the pro. Just stopped working the other day. Woke up one day to an uncharged iPad. Super disappointed.

Don't buy for Macbook Pro 15"

Unfortunately, this charger wont charge your computer faster than the battery going down. It might slow the trickle a bit, but it's basically useless if you plan on working your computer hard for more than 4-6hrs.

Never a single problem, Love It!

Purchased this with a USB-C to Lightning cable for a 12" iPad Pro, and I will never go back to any other power adapter. I have not had a single problem with either component, and I am careful to disconnect the cable before tossing it in my bag. I am not more careful with this than I am with any other cable or power adapter, except that the cable is always unplugged first.

I carry it with me everyday, has never had any signs of issues in more than a year of use, I highly recommend it!

I would have not hesitated to give the adapter five stars, but...

...in less than one year my 2-metre cable frayed beyond use. ''For never was a cable brought so low of than this adapter of of Apple's Romeo.”

So, I've had no problems with the adapter and I would have rated it with 5-star's but I can't find a reputable company (someone other than Apple) that make a 2-metre cable with one side being a Lightening male plug and a USB-C male plug on the other. Surely one exists?

But as for the adapter, it's lovely and will charge my 12.9" iPad Pro in a touch over an hour. I just need to find a good source for a new cable! As for the 29W USB-C Power Adapter? It is a jewel - plug it in to any number of Apple products and you'll regain the hours that you've heretofore been losing!

    Great charger!

I've been using this charger for months now and it's works great! I've seen people complain about it getting loose after they plug it in a certain amount of times and others may complain about the price but personally, the price doesn't bother me. My lightning cable is 6 ft long and it doesn't give me problems. I even have the original charger to my iPod touch 4th gen and it works like new. All in all, apple products are well worth the money if you take care of your stuff.

Lasted only 8 months of unplugging once a day. Just stopped working one day! Now I'm forced to charge my macbook using the usb-c port on my origin laptop.

    Incredible adapter...

This adapter is overwhelmingly preferable in comparison to the 12 watt variant, as the total charge time for an iPad Pro 12.9" from 0 to 100 % is just over 2 hours, assuming you plug the adapter into an AC wall socket, and use the official Apple lightning to usb-c cable. Using the included lightning to usb-a charging cable in concert with the included 12 watt adapter in an AC wall socket, it will take approximately 7+ hours to go from a battery level of 0% to a full 100% charge.

I tried using 2 non-Apple lightning to usb-c cable variants with the 29 watt adapter, and while the charge rate did, in fact, increase, and the respective charging time decrease, it is not nearly as fast as the combination of both official Apple products used in concert.

I have repeatedly charged my iPad Pro 12.9" from 0 to 100% in approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, and that includes some minor usage while charging. The cost of the 29 watt adapter and 2 meter lightning to usb-c cable will run you around $85.00, but is absolutely and definitively worth it.

That being said, c'mon, Apple...given the price of the top end iPad Pro variant, including both the 29 watt adapter and the 1 meter lightning to usb-c cable as part of the retail package seems not only justified, but necessary, at least regarding the valued areas of customer satisfaction and appreciation.

The charger I always wanted for my iPad Pro 12.9

Since the time I first heard the 29W power adapter can be used for the iPad Pro 12.9, I've wanted to try it. Using the 12W adapter is disconcerting when it seems to make no headway at all in charging the iPad while I'm using it. Sometimes the battery power has gone DOWN while plugged in...which makes me feel really uneasy if I need to use it a lot later in the day.

With the 29W charger, I can use my iPad Pro with the screen at full brightness and watch the battery level climb quickly up. THAT's reassuring. Apart from believing that Apple should have included the 29W adapter and USB-C-Lightning cable in the box with my iPad in the first place, I am thankful and totally satisfied with my purchase.

Perfect! Definitely get this if you have an iPad Pro

It didn't take long to realize that charging my new iPad Pro was taking an unbearably long time. I searched the web for options to pick up the pace and found am article explaining how this usb-c power adapter and the corresponding usb-c cable would allow iPad Pro owners to capitalize on the fancy fast charging feature that's built in the iPad Pro.
I bought it and immediately see a huge difference in charging time. I can actually charge while I'm using the iPad now. It works perfectly for what I intended.
