    Please read before buying!!

    • Written by John S

Hey guys, I’m sure your on this review page because your probably looking at purchasing the beats pill plus^. I don’t have anything bad to say about the sound and or quality of it, actually I love it! For the size of it... it booms, nice and thorough bass but not too overpowering. Size is very agile. One complaint of mine that I have had was the durbalitly! Really surprised me with the poor material choosing. All the tiny holes pick up everything to dirt, crumbs, etc. the “metal” structure and or casing has no durability and collects everything to dings, scratches and dents at the littlest of drops or accidents with the speaker. This is one problem I have had and I hope you thoroughly rethink your idea of purchasing one of these speakers (if your gonna use it for what it’s for (portable)) then it’s most likely going to be damaged and dinged up!! Hope this helps and saves you some money!

    Good but not ideal

I bought 2 speakers for higher volume. Pill+ turns off even while charging, so every time I need to turn on both and create a pair again and again... No app for MacOS, so I can't create a pair on my iMac. But I like design and sound.

For the Size it's Great, but a Downgrade from the XL

    • Written by Thomas M from mississagua

Just purchased the Pill+ after returning my XL, was very excited about the new software and iPhone application, and smaller size of course. It is loud, I wouldn't say as loud as the XL and it seriously lacks base.

Speakers are great for soft songs with great sound quality. But the second a heavy base song comes on, everything gets distorted and kills the mood. Would not be able to hold a small party with this speaker, more of a every day around the house speaker.

Generally disappointed with base, I would rather larger speakers with deeper base than portable. If I wanted portability I would of purchased the regular beats pill.

Love it, but it badly needs the W1 chip

    • Written by Elizabeth D from Bridgewater

I’ve had this speaker for a while now and the audio quality is excellent. We use ours every day around the house, both indoors and outdoors, and you often forget you’re listening to such a small speaker. The sound quality is far better than many of the larger stereo units I’ve owned. The fact that it uses the same cord to charge as my iPhone, and can be used as a battery for my phone, are really nice little touches that are so very Apple.

However, it’s time this awesome little speaker were updated to include the W1 chip like the rest of the Beats lineup. In many cases it’d actually be even more useful (at least for me) to have the increased range and ease of pairing that the W1 provides with the speaker than it is with wireless headphones. If the Pill got that one overdue improvement, it’d really be the perfect little portable speaker for me. Without it, though, the limited range and difficulty pairing is even more irritating now that I’ve been spoiled by how easy these things are with my AirPods and Beats headphones. Hopefully Apple will include this much needed addition soon!

Paying for the name Beats, you'd expect exceptional sound but eh. The speaker lacks bass and is too overpriced for its sound quality and volume. PLEASE BRING BACK THE BEATS PILL XL, with a better battery, of course.

Speakers sound fantastic! Operating two at the same time BAD!

    • Written by Dawn G

Speakers sound fantastic, but... With 2 Pills+ it's 8 steps to play music on them both and it's a learning curve to figure out what specific order to follow. Why don't they remember the first pairing setup? It should be as simple as turning them on and go! The IOS App is finicky and limited. They do sound great, once they are paired.

Too slippery to hold on to

    • Written by Jackie M

Love the sound, but if you carry it to move around room to room, be very careful, it is very slippery to hold on to. I dropped mine twice, the last time something happened, sound is terrible now. Please make this more grip friendly!!!!!!!!
