    Who are these people?

    • Written by Jeff F from Phoenix

Is someone paying irrational, cantankerous antagonists to write one-star reviews? Anything they don't love is automatically "the worst thing ever!" All of these extremely low reviews are incredible... as in "not even remotely credible."

This mouse looks and feels like the last one - only a little lighter. Ergonomics, weight, appearance, functionality... all great things, and all much better than your average third-party product. The mouse plugs in to charge... and this is somehow horrible? Upside-down is a bit weird and you don't use it while it is charging. How does that make this a one-star product? Don't you ever sleep? Can't you remember to plug your mouse in overnight once a month? This is way better than having to change the batteries every two weeks. Do you gripe about your phone because you have to put it down once in a while to charge it? So it doesn't work with some of the older system software? Well in most cases, neither should you. How does that make this product abysmal? Your wrist hurts? That is not the mouse's fault. Operator error does not make a product atrocious any more than a drunk driver makes a a particular brand of car a hazard to drive.

This mouse is a great product. An improvement over the already-good last version. Would I prefer a third party mouse over this one? No thanks. I'll give my five stars right here without apology.

I was hesitant to purchase the MM 2 because of the negative reviews.

So, I visited the Apple Store and took the Magic Mouse 2 on a test drive.

Then, I came home and read the reviews again and said... Huh ??

If you are like me, you grow weary of reading BOGUS product reviews.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this mouse.

It is exactly the same form factor as the original.

It does not "wobble" as one reviewer stated.

It has a nice heft, drives well and feels great in your hand.

Bottom line... disregard any review less than four or five stars.

This is a very good improvement over the original Magic Mouse.

    Great product

    • Written by Vincent L from Ashburn

From reading other reviews, I did not expect much from this mouse. I bought it because I like how it looks and I wanted a mouse to match my Macbook and one that is optimized for Mac OS. Although the ergonomics aren't great, the mouse is still comfortable to use and the battery life is extremely long. I don't ever have problems with the charging port being on the bottom because I charge it when I'm not using it and it lasts a very long time on a full charge. Altogether, if you are looking for a mouse optimized for Mac OS with all of the gestures and a mouse that matches the Apple aesthetic, the Magic Mouse 2 is a great product and I recommend it.

    Haters going to hate.

    • Written by Aaron R from STILLWATER

I've seen a lot of negative reviews about the magic mouse 2 and I have to disagree. This mouse is simple, the gestures feature is amazing, and the design is super sexy. I thought I would regret spending the extra cash on this mouse and I'm sure glad I did. The main criticism I see echoed over and over is that you can't use the mouse while it's charging. And if you have an iMac or other device that doesn't have a built in trackpad I can see how that is annoying, but the mouse charges quickly and it's easy enough to check the battery level in the System Preferences. So if you're mouse dies, plug her in and go get some fresh air when you return she should have enough juice to finish the day. You probably deserved a break anyhow.

Here's why there are so many 1 star reviews

    • Written by Matthew D from Salem

This is at least a 3 star product, but I'll get to that in a minute. The reason why it has so many 1 star reviews is because unlike other stores, you don't need to purchase the mouse to review it... which means the Apple haters can create apple id's and leave bad reviews without buying anything and what that means is any company or simply just android fanboys can just get on here and hate on Apple for the fun of it and then say, "Oh look how bad it is reviewed." Apple really is just leaving themselves wide open for attack. I have a Magic Mouse 2 and I love it but I didn't buy from Apple.com and here I am leaving a review. So the reason it is at least a 3 star is because at best the only things you can attack it on is that the charging port is at the bottom, so you can't charge and use at the same time. Also, if the mouse would let you know at least 4 hours before it died, then you could recharge at lunch or make it to the end of the day before charging. Some people would rate it lower than a 5 because it doesn't feel amazing in your hand (which can be debatable). The lack of a scroll wheel also bothers others, but big deal when you can just use your finger. The other thing is that on my Mac, when turned to the highest setting the mouse seems to move just a tad slow on the screen. Also, the price point is a bit high, but that's why you hop on ebay and get it cheaper. For me though it's 5 star because it always works good without any lag, it is very smooth and easy to use, the fact that you can use your fingers to swipe or slide is genius and its rechargeable by cable. It has superior range and it also looks classy. Really what more do you want? Good job apple. However I recommend a couple things: get the space gray option going, allow us to have the mouse pointer move a little quicker and only allow people who buy the product to review it, so that people like me don't need to explain all this to everyone. Kudos everyone!!!

    Best mouse!

    • Written by Renee F from Hope Valley

So before I purchased this I read all the reviews. I noticed people were complaining about the battery charging port being on the bottom and decided to buy it anyways. I just want to make sure everyone knows; yes it is on the bottom! However, I use mine 8 to 9 hours a day and have had it on one charge for over a month and a half now. So the charging port may be inconvenient but you honestly don't need to use it that often. Also, this mouse is great if you're used to switching from laptop to actual computer! It allows me to use most of the same gestures that the trackpad does and I like that for convenience. Overall this is probably the best mouse I have ever used (so far) and I would recommend it to anyone! One more important thing, I had issues connecting the bluetooth and scrolling at first. Shortly after I realized that it only works with OS X El Capitan so make sure you upgrade before buying!

I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews about this mouse. I am using this mouse since about 8 years, the old one used a lot of batteries, but the Magic Mouse 2 is amazing! I charge it about every 4-6 weeks and use it daily for about 8 hours. Once you get used to it you just can do about everything with this mouse! I am a designer and create all sorts of vector graphics - most of the time just using the mouse.

Great product! Usual excellent Apple quality.

    • Written by JOHN G from SAINT LOUIS

I have had Magic Mouse 2 for a month and really appreciate everything about it. I have rather large hands, not as facile as they used to be, but I have no problem holding and using this mouse. It's used everyday and all functions have worked as described, no glitches. I have not had to recharge it yet. It had a 94% charge when it arrived and now after a month has 84%. After reading many negative reviews on this site I have been especially alert for problems but so far no complaints. I will be interested in how long a charge takes. Since it cannot be used while charging this seems an important issue. I will keep you posted. I consider it another quality product from Apple.

    Great Mouse

    • Written by PAUL D from PORT CHESTER

I bought this mouse today because I am tired if having to be charging the other mouse. I will use it as a backup in case this one goes dead. I charge it for about 6 hrs then I turned off the other one and configured it. It works well with Mac Book Pro. No complaints.. For those people who complain that you cannot use it when it is charging get a life and just remember to fully charge it overnight once a month and you will be fine. I am testing it wilj all my applications such as Photoshop and word and it works flawlessly

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews about the charging cable being on the bottom of the mouse. Yes, it's kinda weird, but there's really no excuse for letting the mouse die to the point that you need to use it while it charges. You can see the percentage of the charge in your preferences. When it gets low plug it in overnight??? It's not that difficult??

I had the original magic mouse- having to buy batteries constantly for it was waaaaay more annoying! I've had my mouse for 3 weeks, charged it fully right out of the box, have used it every day and it's only at 83%. I turn it off when I'm not using it. At this rate I'll only have to charge it every few months. I'd say that's a VAST improvement to the batteries.

    Outstanding Product

    • Written by Jeffrey E from Cave Creek

I bought the magic mouse2 five or six months ago and couldn't be happier - i've literally had NO problems. I work with spreadsheets a lot and this is a dream in that regard.

I noticed there were a few complaints about having to charge it by plugging in the cord to the bottom of the mouse - while you do have to charge it that way - it's never been an issue for me and the battery life is GREAT (I use it daily for long periods). I think i've charged it 3 times in like 5 months. Plus, the computer tells you when the battery is getting low, so you can just charge it overnight when you get the notice - no big deal.

Anyway, the hate has gone way too far - I think it's a great product. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I really don't get some of the reviews here. This mouse is fantastic, it works very well, very precise and I really love the design. The only downsize is the charging port location that doesn't let you charge and use at the same time, but this is really not that relevant as the battery life is really amazing!
    Great work!

So good I bought a second one!

    • Written by Ken J from Jungletown

I agree with others who are incredulous that people rate this at just one star simply because of the recharging port being on the bottom. The mouse, itself, is incredible. The charge lasts me—and I use the mouse over 8 hours each day—at least 45 days; so, SHAME ON ME if I can't remember to plug it in one night every 45 days. SHAME ON THE NAYSAYERS for trashing an incredible tool over this one design flaw—which I admit I would rather see changed, but is certainly NO DEAL-BREAKER for any reasonable person.

    Solid product

    • Written by John S from Matthews

I bought this mouse in 2017 to use with my MacBook Pro and I have zero regrets, despite the $79 price tag. It seamlessly connects via Bluetooth to my computer whenever in range. I find it a very convenient way to interact with my computer. If you are new to it the gestures may be a bit awkward but it is easy to get used to. Holds a charge for a long time and I can just plug it into my computer using my USB adapter but it comes with a normal USB charging cord that you can plug into a typical USB adapter. Overall very pleased with the product.

    Best Mouse I've Ever Owned!

    • Written by Christoph D from Broomfield

I like many others, I read a bunch of reviews about the Magic Mouse 2 and didn't really know what to make of them. I love my MacBook Pro's touchpad gestures for switching between desktops and use it constantly in my work. I wanted to have the same feature on my mouse since it was availability and I'm so glad I picked up this mouse.

The main complaint I saw about the Magic Mouse 2 was the charging port and it's placement on the bottom. I'm here to tell you that I don't understand the complaint one bit. I've had the mouse on my desk and turned on for 3 weeks now with only 1 charge and it's still at 83% battery life. It's going to last well over a month on one charge with daily use and it can be charged passively over night or between uses.

As for usability, it' feels sturdy in the hand like a quality product should, the price is great based on it's quality and engineering, it offers features that enrich my Mac experience.

I wish I could give it more stars but hopefully you will find this review useful and understand that the charge port placement is very secondary.

    Works great!

    • Written by Jamie S from Berwyn

I was really worried to purchase the magic mouse because of all the bad reviews about charge and functionality. I will say that I purchased it now almost 2 months ago and use it every day, and haven't charged it yet (and it's still at 57%). I really like having a mouse because using a track pad too much hurts my hands, and this fits the bill. I also really like how there is swiping functionality on the mouse to scroll, move between screens, etc.
Don't listen to the bad reviews!

    I love it!

    • Written by Larry F from Renton

I think I have tried all of the wireless mice Apple has produced over the years. We are still using the original battery-powered Magic Mouse. It's a significant improvement over its predecessors. The Magic Mouse 2 is an improvement over that. Detractors love to malign the placement of the charging port because you can't use the mouse while it's charging. Those people apparently haven't used the mouse long enough to know it's really not a factor. I use this mouse nearly every day for at least an hour or more, and in the three months I have had it, I have charged it once. It was nearly fully charged out of the box, and it was just a few weeks ago that I needed to charge it again. You get plenty of notice before it dies. If you're worried about running it down while you're working, plug it in and take a 10-minute break. It will charge enough during that time to give you several more hours. When you're finished, plug it in for a few hours and it will be ready to go again for a couple more months.

All these one star reviews.. I get weeks of use out of mine, so it's not hard to just plug it in occasionally as I do with my apple TV remote. Not once have i ran out of power? I'm going to call user error, and the fact I no longer have to keep spare AA's in my bag when traveling is a plus!

    The BEST!

    • Written by Susan C from Roanoke

Best mouse I've ever used, and I've been using Apple products for personal and photographic use (Photoshop) for over 35 years.
Everything about this Mouse is perfect, efficient and effective.
Immediately liked it so much for my MacAir that I ordered a second one for the 27" Mac I use for photographic work.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Charges quickly, holds that charge a long time, and is easy to use.

    • Written by Charles K from BILOXI

I've been a Mac user since the beginning of Apple and I can say this Magic Mouse 2 is a joy to use. No, it might not make your cappacino in the morning and you might have some petty complaints as I see in so many reviews but I don't see too many people going back to their 1998 model mouses. Great job Apple.
