    Puzzled by the bad reviews

    • Written by Nicholas K from Columbus

I am puzzled by the tone of some of the bad reviews here. This is a great device!

Maybe you're used to using something by Logitech, but don't knock a device that you only have to charge once in a very blue moon for not being able to charge and use at the same time. Really, this is not a device you ever really have to worry about charging!!

Personally, I think this is a superior product to Apple's last bluetooth Magic Mouse. I liked that mouse, but felt it didn't always have very good gravity (or something like that... the thing seemed to float in my hand, periodically). This one is more weighted towards the rear, with the result being that you hand seems to intuitively understand where it is supposed to be. It just feels more natural.

By all means get a mouse with more buttons, if you need. But for me (mostly, writing, but some media processing and multitasking stuff, and some light gaming), this mouse just feels like your favorite pen. Very natural in the hand. A simple pleasure. You hardly know its there. And that, I think, is the whole point.

    Best Mouse I've Ever Owned!

    • Written by Christoph D from Broomfield

I like many others, I read a bunch of reviews about the Magic Mouse 2 and didn't really know what to make of them. I love my MacBook Pro's touchpad gestures for switching between desktops and use it constantly in my work. I wanted to have the same feature on my mouse since it was availability and I'm so glad I picked up this mouse.

The main complaint I saw about the Magic Mouse 2 was the charging port and it's placement on the bottom. I'm here to tell you that I don't understand the complaint one bit. I've had the mouse on my desk and turned on for 3 weeks now with only 1 charge and it's still at 83% battery life. It's going to last well over a month on one charge with daily use and it can be charged passively over night or between uses.

As for usability, it' feels sturdy in the hand like a quality product should, the price is great based on it's quality and engineering, it offers features that enrich my Mac experience.

I wish I could give it more stars but hopefully you will find this review useful and understand that the charge port placement is very secondary.

    Love it!

Reading some of these really negative and picky reviews I was hesitant replace my old broken Apple mouse and I was pleasantly surprised. The only real difference is that it no longer requires batteries which is a huge improvement.. The power cord will fit one's Iphone charger also.
I dont get the big fuss over the charger inlet being on the bottom. It is not a big deal.

    Works great!

    • Written by Jamie S from Berwyn

I was really worried to purchase the magic mouse because of all the bad reviews about charge and functionality. I will say that I purchased it now almost 2 months ago and use it every day, and haven't charged it yet (and it's still at 57%). I really like having a mouse because using a track pad too much hurts my hands, and this fits the bill. I also really like how there is swiping functionality on the mouse to scroll, move between screens, etc.
Don't listen to the bad reviews!

    Absolutely love this mouse

    • Written by Cathy L K from Winter Haven

So I've been using the previous magic mouse with the batteries that are rechargeable and it was great and easy to use. The only thing that was a pain in the behind was that the plate on the bottom that held the batteries in would fall off or come loose from time to time. It was only slightly annoying. Well it stopped working well for some unknown reason and I decided to order a new mouse and see that they have redesigned it . I just got my new mouse and I love it so much. It is so easy to use , so light and smooth and quick. I work on my computer all day and I need to be quick and the mouse makes all the difference. I'm super happy with it and no more batteries to fall out the bottom. It's perfect !! Thanks Apple! I use to be a PC but now I'm a MAC and I love my Mac and my Magic Mouse 2 !

    Happy Girl

    One Star Reviews Ridiculous

    • Written by Steven C from BROWNS MILLS

The one star reviews on here are ridiculous. It is the same as the Apple Mouse 1 but lighter and with a chargeable battery. So what if the charging port is on the bottom. It's not like you are using the mouse 24/7. When you are done using it plug it in and it is ready next time you use it. Also, people are complaining it is too small for their hands. That is a personal issue. Do you really expect Apple to make a extra large mouse for those that have abnormally large hands. Trust me this is a top notch mouse that is highly customizable. If you have giant hands and need something to complain about go buy a trash Logitech that will last 3 months and break.

    No battery mouse is great

    • Written by Maureen V from DuPont

I do not understand why all the negative reviews. It WORKS! It has NO batteries to change all the time. I can charge it when I am asleep. It is lighter than the earlier version of the Magic Mouse. The two mice operate much the same as far as I can tell. What is not to love?

    Best mouse ever produced

    • Written by Alex S from Nizhniy Novgorod

Previous model was great, but that batteries... Now its almost perfect!
As 3d designer I using apple mouse since first Mighty Mouse, and its form was so biological, I never have ANY problems with wrists, considering I working on my Mac almost 13 hours per every day. Magic Mouse was even better, with more weight and multitouch usability. You know, I have pretty "average hands", and completely don't understand what all that haters here are whining about.

I hope Apple will remove the main "button" soon too, to make it "full digital", without moving parts. Sure I never heard of expired clicking mechanism on any mouse, but just imagine you don't hear that clicking sound anymore. Complete silence and focus. )

Pricy compared to the competition but this is a nice product

    • Written by DEBORAH B from Sherrills Ford

Purchased this mouse to replace my previous version Magic Mouse. No issues with the older mouse. Just wanted the convenience of not having to deal with batteries. Read the negative reviews about the charging port being on the bottom. Yes, misguided form over function. Don't see what the big deal is though. Plug it in overnight occasionally and there won't be an issue. Besides, if you are used to using a wireless mouse, using it with a charging cord attached would be clumsy anyway. Remember the days before wireless? Setup was seamless. Plug in the usb cable. Pairing is immediate and automatic, and if you are replacing a previous version, all your settings carry over. The mouse has a good feel to it and to me, feels faster and more responsive. The build quality is typical Apple. I've been using the mouse for 2 months. No issues with loss of connection or erratic behavior. In that time period the battery level went from 100% to 30%. Plugged it into a USB charger and it took just 3 hrs for the battery level to go back up to 100%. Time will tell on durability but so far, very pleased with the product.

    Why?

    • Written by Rachel Z from Jacksonville

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews about the charging cable being on the bottom of the mouse. Yes, it's kinda weird, but there's really no excuse for letting the mouse die to the point that you need to use it while it charges. You can see the percentage of the charge in your preferences. When it gets low plug it in overnight??? It's not that difficult??

I had the original magic mouse- having to buy batteries constantly for it was waaaaay more annoying! I've had my mouse for 3 weeks, charged it fully right out of the box, have used it every day and it's only at 83%. I turn it off when I'm not using it. At this rate I'll only have to charge it every few months. I'd say that's a VAST improvement to the batteries.

    Best mouse I've ever used

    • Written by Barak S from Tumwater

Apple mice have typically been pretty bad. I've used them off and on since the 1998, and they all suffered from pointlessly quirky design and lack of features. I would always replace them with a cheap windows mouse. This mouse is actually a step forward in every area, the multi-touch surface actually make this better than a standard mouse. Hands down the best.

    Love it

    • Written by Paul H from Central Hawkes Bay

I am considered the go to person in town I live when it comes to technology. In the past 7 years I have converted heaps of windows users to mac os and will confidently continue to do so.

Today I installed and configured a new 21" mac for a guy down the road or should I say I plugged it in and it configured itself. All I had to do was create dock items of his favourite sites and enter the account details

I was delighted to see the rechargeable mouse and keyboard what a winner compared to the Logitech clumsy potato with batteries he had on his old PC.

    Well done Apple

Thats why we will support You guys.

ps we don't need to pirate software as it is all there for us.

    Wonderful Product

    • Written by Mark W from Chicago

I have used the Magic Mouse I for years and I love it, and I am very much looking forward to a rechargeable Magic Mouse II !!! Regarding bad comments by others: there apparently is no mechanism to identify fraudulent reviews and I would not be surprised if Apple's competition contracts this job out. The competition would of course deny it, and it would be difficult to prove. We can only speculate at this point. But regardless of the other reviews, this is a great product.

    The best mouse ever

    • Written by Andrej B from København S

I was so in doubt to purchase this mouse because of all negative feedback, but I decided to try. I must say this is the best mouse I have ever used! It is so simple to use, and battery life is incredible! I just love all the gestures I can perform with this mouse. I really don't know what people expect a mouse to be, but this one definitely exceeded my expectations. It looks just perfect and I cannot find any flaw at all.
