Works pretty well. Hard to justify the cost.

Functionally I would give it 3.5 of 5 stars. Sometimes my watch slips off the magnet and won't charge overnight. Most of the time it works well. Having the watch sit up is very nice. As to the cost, that is really the problem. I really need a second one for my office but I just can't bring myself to spend the money. This should be half the cost and it would make sense. Normally I see the premium price for Apple products as being superior quality, but not with this.

    Stops Working, Gets Hot.

Very disappointing overpriced product. Magnet charging thing stops working and you can’t replace it. You would think for $79 and no moving parts it would last a long time. It died at little over a year.

Better to get a simple cable for $29 and deal with the cable tangle.

    Can’t recommend this product.

    Add a $50 Base to a $29 Cable for $80 of Recycling

So you get a pretty base with the same charger disk that came with your watch. The pretty no-tech base costs a whopping $50 on top of what is an already over priced $29 cable. But hey, it looks good.

Then the “integrated” little disk charger fails. Guess what, that $50 extra spent for the base goes with the defective magnetic charger into the recycling bin. Lesson learned, should have gotten a 3rd party stand where the magnetic disk and cable could fail and be swapped out. Integrated is a bad idea.

It’s a year and a half old, yet it is $80 of recycling donation. Seriously does not live up to expectations. Caveat Emptor

    A Great Purchase

I use my doc on my desk and I use a normal alarm clock for alarm uses. I received this for Christmas and I am very impressed. The 2 meter cord is a great addition and you can just use the wall plug the came with the watch. The doc will be able to be used with the later versions of Apple Watches, and with the weighted base I think it is reliable it will work for a long time.

    Worth it,

I went back and forth on this a lot due to the price. But once I got my new Series 3 Watch I knew I needed a safer, more stable place to charge it. I have to say, this thing is awesome. Yes, it’s expensive. But the quality of the build and the stability of the base is great. I know the watch won’t get scratched or knocked over. The cord that comes with it is super long. And to those who complain that there is no wall plug/charging brick, I know the watch came with one, and honestly I have so many of those plugs from all the Apple products I’ve gotten over the years it’s not an issue.

If you are on the fence due to price but want a secure place to put your watch at night to charge, just do it and buy this thing. You won’t be sorry. And used ones on eBay don’t go for much less than full price, so I’d rather buy it directly from Apple. Brand new and delivered for free in two days. Faster than I could make it to the Apple store.

$80 and it doesn't include the wall plug????

Its a very nice charger and designed very nicely, just like all apple products. I just can't believe it doesn't include the wall charger. Now i have to go back and by the part that plugs into the wall. Seems like this is perfect for next to the bed, but then they don't include something to plug it into the wall????

Must Have for All Apple Watch Owners!

I decided to give this dock a go shortly after purchasing my series 2 Apple Watch, and like I expected the dock works the way I intended, and has the very nice design and form factor. I like the ability of laying the watch side ways to be used as night stand, and best of all, my watch won't scratch and I won't have to look for the charging pug every night when it's time for the to charge the watch. Very nicely made although it's highly priced, but a great investment for those who are purchasing stainless steal watch or Apple Watch edition.

    Great Charging Night Stand

I really enjoy using this product. It is a solid charging/night stand, but slightly on the pricy side.

    Watch Magnetic Stand

While the cost of the stand seems high, it works extremely well and allows the comfort of knowing your expensive watch has a safe resting space. It is weighted and allows your watch to charge in multiple positions. On days when you don't have to charge your watch, the magnetic charger lays flat for a safe place to lay your watch while it is not charging. Overall, it is worth the cost for peace of mind. I have not used other chargers as I recieved this as a gift with my watch. As many reviewers have stated, I trust Apple with their products. This charger packs flat, protects your investment, and looks beautiful.

    Worth the Money!

I was hesitant to spend the money on this. It does exactly what the included charger does--why would I need this one? But after months of fighting to keep the charging cable situated on my nightstand and dealing with the frustration of my watch getting knocked off while charging, I bit the bullet and bought this charger. And MAN was it worth it. It stays on my nightstand, it securely holds and charges my watch, it's stylish and compact. I could go on and on about how much I love this charger.

Yes, they have third party docks that the OEM watch charger attaches to. Yes, a few of those have good reviews. And yes, you may be perfectly happy with one of those. But I didn't want to run the risk of ruining my charger and having to buy a new one of those. I figured $30 for a new charger (if the third party stand were to ruin it, like many reviews of third party products said) plus the price of the included lightening cable, this dock all but pays for itself. Beyond that, it's an Apple product made specifically for the watch. I knew it would be a quality product that would do a great job.

To all those reviews who give this fewer stars because it doesn't include the wall/outlet adapter, why should it when the watch itself comes with one? This makes no sense to me. Take the cable charger you received with your Apple Watch and replace it with this charger. The end. I don't see why stars should be docked when you already have a wall/outlet adapter from the original watch purchase. That's just my two cents.

All in all, I am so glad I decided to get this. It's perfect!

    It's ok but...

I asked for this for Christmas last year and one of my children gave it to me.

It works and is made by Apple, but it is only a step up from the basic charger. I'm not sure it is worth the extra money.

For one thing it only comes in white. Come on Apple, gives us some colors like you do with the bands.

Belkin makes a stand that hold the watch and iPhone, if it had been made by Apple I would have gone that route, but with the watch being so new to the market I was leery of 3rd party chargers. I think that was probably my loss.

The biggest advantage this charger has is that my cat doesn't think it is a kitty toy. She was going after the charger that came with the watch just like she does my iPhone and MacBook Pro cord if not secured when not in use.

    Lame but well built

You are really just buying another charger for a higher price. The watch face turns off after a minute or so.
It is a charging stand and not a replacement for bedside clock. A well built charging stand but nightstand mode is lame.

Apple Premier Aesthetics at its Finest!

The dock is absolutely gorgeous! If you had a hard time noticing from the picture, it has a leather top and a felt bottom. Both very soft to the touch. The charging contact moves from the flat to the upright position with great fluidity. It is well weighted to prevent accidental knock overs and it makes charging in the dark very easy too. Highly recommended to anyone that uses their watch as an alarm clock, or just want to give it a compliment.

    Still great after 1-year

I purchased this shortly after purchasing my watch because I was tired of chasing the stock cable around every night. The stand is elegant and like all my Apple products, performs as expected. After reading other reviews, I have racked my brain and can not remember if it came with the AC power adapter, but do know I did not have to buy one.

    Well-done; Beautiful and Functional

I use my stainless steel Watch as an alarm clock and had previously situated it on a plush microfiber cloth. There were no 3rd party accessories like this that I have seen since May, 2015. If you are using the Milanese Loop band or similar, you should know that the watch can't lay flat to charge with this Magnetic Charging Dock. That being said, it holds the Watch perfectly for alarm clock mode, is beautiful to look at and is of quality. The only minus is the price; it's a bit expensive but, oh well, it is perfect.

    Apple Watch Dock Review

First off, let me say that this dock is a MUST if you don't want your watch getting scratched when trying to charge it on a hard surface. For the first couple of weeks when charging without this, I had to put it on a blanket. Even after that though, I was skeptical about buying this stand, because it was ridiculously expensive. Anyways, after I bought it, I was absolutely delighted. The material used feels really nice, it looks beautiful on my dresser, and the weight inside it means it won't slide unless I pick it up. Quality was much better than any 3rd party stand, which is exactly what I needed. Now, there were a couple of problems with this dock.

    1. If you have a case, make sure it's a thin one (otherwise nightstand mode won't work/it won't charge)

    2. Overpriced. It's nice and all, but 80 bucks seriously? I bet it didn't cost more than 15 to make.

    3. It didn't come with a USB adapter. The long cord is awesome, but I had to plug the USB into my old iHome, which really defeats the purpose of nightstand mode.

Overall though, it was worth it. A great buy, especially compared to the other cheap ones out there.

    No Complaits

Another very well designed apple product. The people that give this 1 star because Apple chose not to charge us more and include the $19 AC adapter should find a better thing to complain about. If they did include one, people would complain that they don't need an extra AC adapter, which you don't. So, thank you Apple for making another great product and knowing when to include parts like an extra AC adapter and when not to. This is a beautiful, well made charger which will charge your watch and protect it at the same time.

    No USB Outlet Adapter....really?

I just received my dock today, extremely disappointed no USB outlet adapter comes with it; required to spend an additional $19 for the wall/outlet adapter or forced to connect directly to a USB port.

    Nice stand but expensive.

The stand is nice. But it should include a wall plug for the price. I guess they expect you to use the one that came with the watch.
