Airpods are to Headphones as iPhone was to the Motorola RAZR

After a week of using the AirPods, I'm reminded of the transition from the old-style cell phone to the iPhone in 2007. I didn't realize how much I avoided using headphones just because of the hassle of cords with wired sets, and with charging, powering on/off, and pairing with Bluetooth sets. But these are a revelation, and make podcasts, music, and audiobooks a pleasure. They just work.

    LOVE THEM

Honestly, they are worth the $172. I am SO tired of replacing headphones every 6 months because the cord breaks. The AirPods sound so much better, they NEVER fall out of my ears and charge very quickly. Apple products are just superior in so many ways. They have their flaws like all technology, but working off of an apple keyboard, iMac, Magic Mouse, AirPods and iPhone make feel so much better about my work. I would totally recommend the investment in the AirPods if you use your headphones as often as I do (all day every day).

    Best Headphones Ever

I have used many different types of ear buds but these are by far my favorite, I purchased in advance before they were even available and I was completely surprised and relieved this weekend to find out that even after the holder and ear buds were left in my shorts pocket and ran through the washing machine and discovered the next morning that they still work! (I did let them sit for a day in rice to dry out) Thank you to Apple for making a great and durable product. Well worth the cost to me!

    Aweful

    These things are awful.
    1) When you turn your head they disconnect because they think you took them out of your ear. If you open your mouth wide....they disconnect. If you bend over to pick something up off the floor....they disconnect because they think you took them our of your ear.

    2) Parring with multiple devices is a pain. Switching between my phone and my iPad is virtually impossible to figure out. I get so frustrated with these darn things.

    3) The case is a dirt trap.

    Apple's Magic. Trifles in Perfection.

    Just bought one day ago...

    Package:
When I just took the package hand, I started to get enjoy. Awesome!!!

    Case:
Looks fantastic outside and inside. Very enjoyable to hold in hand.
Very enjoyable colors of large indicator and also how it lights up and light down.
    Magnets very cool idea.
24 hours of listening, is it not a magic? It is!!!

    AirPods:
Look almost like EarPods just without a cable. For my ears they fit awesome.
Connection is cool. Very stable and supports long distance.
    W1 chip is amazing.

    Thanks Apple.

Great sound and simple to use

I can't really add anything that hasn't been said. They work perfect, sound great and are comfortable. So far they have been the best pair of wireless earphones I've had for the money.

I love them except when I need to control the iPhone

I love almost everything about them, and my ears are shaped so they stay in even when jumping rope. But...you aren't going to force me to use Siri. No way. Why should I have to look like an idiot talking to myself simply to skip to the next song or reduce the volume? And many of us have work iPhones which have Siri locked out of the ecosystem for security reasons. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE update with more useful tap commands mirroring those of the conventional headset. If someone comes out with similar BT headset without the stubborn adherence to Siri control, I'm gone.

    Great product

After reading/watching several reviews I finally decided to purchase these. And I'm so glad I did! I use them all the time at work and home. Yeah, they may look funny and get a lot of stupid looks, but I really don't care. I was worried about audio latency when watching video but if there is any, I don't notice it. If EarPods fit for you, then these will fit perfectly.

Great little gadget. Always room for improvement.

They sound great! Easy to wear for long periods of time. I don't like to keep both of them in, as they do a bit of noise cancellation. However not well. It's more just plugging and sealing your ear rather than actively canceling them out.

Something I don't understand is if I'm using one AirPod to listen to music and the other one is just sitting on my desk... the sitting AirPod is still playing music the same as the one I'm wearing. I'd assume it'd be in a power saving state. Not using the speaker as it's not detecting being in an ear.

    Amazing!

I'll admit, I was skeptical. I was afraid they wouldn't stay in my ears and they wouldn't sound great. But boy am I glad I purchased these! They are so easy to use. Very quick connection and convenient in pretty much every aspect. They feel lighter than the ear buds that come with the phones and there are no wires to tangle. I have really enjoyed them and I recommend them all the time.

    Better than wire EarPods

I've owned the AirPods for about a month and have used them running outside and on the treadmill. They seem to stay in better than the EarPods probably due to not having the wires "pull down on them". I do have to periodically readjust their fit after sweating, but they haven't fallen out once. The sound is good. Glad I waited and bought a pair.

Good headphones make you listen to more music

AirPods are exceptional little headphones, and absolutely worth the price of admission. Sound is accurate unlike Beats, so don't expect to hear overwhelming bass. All genres will sound very good, and perhaps more importantly, you'll be more likely to listen to your music throughout the day because you won't have to worry about wires.

You already know about the features of these headphones. If you were reasonably happy with EarPods and you can afford the cost of AirPods, what are you waiting for?

    Innovation at its best

These AirPods are awesome. I held out until I happened to try them on at a store and was blown away at how comfortable and well designed they are. I ordered that day and they just got here last night. I want to use them all the time.

    Great when they work

When they work they are fantastic. The problem with AirPods is they are VERY inconsistent. Most times, both AirPods will connect but every once in a while, only one will. And it's a real pain to try to figure out why and then get the other one to connect.

My biggest beef with them, though, is that the tap-to-Siri/tap-to-pause-and-play basically just doesn't work. I have mine configured to pause/play when I double tap. Most of the time I find myself practically banging one to get it to work. If that doesn't work, I tap the other side. Sometimes that helps, sometimes not. There is literally about a 50% chance it'll work. Not to mention, the sound of tapping them even a little bit isn't very pleasant. While not always as practical, it's much more effective to simply remove one when I need it to pause.

Ultimately, I wish Apple had taken a little more time to get these right. While still better than any other Bluetooth ear pods I've ever used, they are uncharacteristically bad for being an Apple product. And for $150+ it's the first Apple purchase I've ever made that I've questioned.

    Next stop: implants!

Frees me up to move about while my various devices stay plugged in. Fast charging and sound great. Haven't fallen out yet while running or cycling.
Used in combo with my Apple Watch and iPhone, I am connected to everything! I CONTROL EVERYTHING!

    Impressive

I have been using these for a couple of weeks now and I am impressed. The sound quality is excellent and they work equally well for listening to music or talking on the phone.

I am most impressed with the clever charging system, using the case as a wireless charger. Brilliant. I use them at work and they charge in my briefcase on the way home.

Great, but cannot make or answer phone calls if you own an Apple Watch

These headphones are as wonderful as everyone describes, except if you also happen to own an Apple Watch! When answering/making phone calls, for some reason there's no sound through the AirPods unless you switch your Apple Watch off completely.

    Best purchase of 2017

Just another perfect Apple product. By far the best wireless ear buds I have ever purchased. Very light weight, excellent sound. They connect automatically to your iPhone, so simple to use. Take one ear bud out and your music automatically pauses, put it back in, music plays again. And no, for all you haters, they don't fall out. I run in them and have never had a problem. And if you're worried about "losing them", that's your problem not Apple's.
