Poor Quality (Would not recommend for purchase)

    • Written by Ryan R from Waxhaw

My fourth pair of apple earbuds in the past 18 months has just broken, and as usual one of the channels/ears has stopped working. Also like the other three times, when I move the cord at all, siri somehow pops up on my phone, pausing whatever is being played.

If you enjoy having to buy the same product over and over again because there is no real alternative besides either paying 159.99 for airpods or purchasing an adapter, (which I've found is also rather faulty) then this product is for you!

Also note that I treat my headphones with great care, and avoid conditions which may lead to earbud failure, so it is not as if I am personally breaking them each time (who would even do such a thing?).

they make my phone go crazy!!!!

    • Written by Ariana J from Milwaukee

Apple really needs to improve on there earbuds cause they aren't good. I bought some new earbuds last month after my other ones stoped working even though I had only had them for less then a year. The new ones I got a few months ago are already starting to not work like for example when ever I listen to music or watch a video have to make sure not to move my phone, and touch the mic/ volume changer or else Siri will pop up or my music or video will just pause out of no where which Is very annoying. This problem has happened to all my apple ear buds except for the ones that came with my iPod touch 8 or 9 years ago. Apple needs to make their earbuds better cause at this point if someone buys these their just wasting their money. I hope apple can improve on there earbuds because I don't plan on buying AirPods because there expensive, and I will probably just lose them.

    Useless earbud

    • Written by Kenny L from Saint Paul

This earbud it isn't worth and waste of money, The $10 earbuds found at Walmart have even better sound. I'm disappointed with this Apple product for the sound quality and the options to control the iPhone.

    Earbuds with Lightning Connector

    • Written by Tony S from Cambridge

Awful! After 3 months of use no sound all of a sudden in the right earbud and strangely the volume up/down, pause button and microphone still work. Looks like these are poorly manufactured as one side packing up has a lot of complaints on here.

Awful, broke less than a day after purchasing

    • Written by Brian M from Chicago

These headphones are terrible. I've had pairs last years, but I recently purchased a new iPhone 11, and the headphones that came in the box with the phone started spontaneously pausing my music within a couple hours of use. They also fail to be recognized as plugged in sometimes so they now play audio spontaneously from my phone's speakers. What a nightmare, I am very disappointed.

    Best headphones in price range

Don’t get fooled by angry comments from people who broke them, they probably hang on them or any other animal activity. I’ve been using mine for 2years now.

    Trash

    • Written by Miguel C from Stockton

These headphones are absolute trash for the simple fact that anytime I pair them with my iPhone 11 pro and I slightly move the jack they glitch out. I get a high pitch sound and I have to constantly detach and connect them again to get them to function properly until the next time I slightly bump into something again. The sound is great but it doesn’t mean squat when you have to adjust them every few moments. I thought I could use them as a reliable headphone while my wireless headphones charge but they are far from it. Might as well save the money and do not include them with the iPhone.

    Horrible Quality

    • Written by Alyssa M from North Charleston

Right when I got my earbuds, I could not hear anything in one earbud. They were also brand new. I am extremely furious due to paying pretty much, $30 for only one earbud working. This is extremely unfair. I really like your product, but One side working is just aggravating.

Can't wear them for any longer than 30 seconds before my ears start to hurt. When I take them out, they continue to hurt for a while after. They don't stay in easily.

Please do not buy, stay away

    • Written by Manny C from Clarksville

I am an avid Apple user and like to believe that most apple products are reliable and durable. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the headphones. Please do not buy them at all. On the bright side, but still in disgust, is that they came with the new phone we purchased. I rarely used the headphones and still, they barely lasted over six months. What a total failure and disgrace. I am starting to lose faith in the future and products that Apple produces. Being on a deployment overseas and having the headphones break mid-conversation with my family back home is an absolute embarrassment. Purchasing another set would take nearly a month to receive, please stay away..

    Very short product life

    • Written by AYHAN A from Washington

Three months after, one side stopped working. It seems Apple are banking on people buying this accessory over and over again so that we can continue using our expensive Iphones. Apple people, you better address this if you want to hold on to your phone sales.

    AWFUL

    • Written by Lauren K from Omaha

I am on my third pair of headphones (about to be fourth) for my 2.5 year old phone because these headphones keep dying in one ear. This is the third time it has happened, and the most recent pair lasted 2 months. I do like to run, but only do so a few times a week, so it isn't like I'm using them all the time. I wish I could buy another brand of headphones for my phone instead of wasting 30 dollars on these. This is the last time I buy an iPhone and use Apple products. The products don't last and only can use Apple products. Don't recommend these headphones and so looking forward to buying a new phone and getting new headphones for it. These headphones shouldn't be dying after a few months of use, so not a fan and don't recommend.

    AWFUL

    • Written by Kamen L from Pernik

Between pushing these in your ears to lock them in place and struggling to filter out any music out of the street noise the EarPods let in amplified, you'll never mistake this disfunctional Apple-designed money grabbing piece of junk with anything remotely related to earphones. Non standard shape that - legends say - fits selected few, thin and fragile cable, hard plastic that hurts the ear canals - these are all cherries on the cake. The cake itself is the ability of the EarPods to make specific world noises louder and the lack of any attempt to even block outside noises. Yes, you can crack the volume up, but this triggers sound leakage and in the same time shows how underpowered these are. The EarPods are the single product that shows Apple's absolute worst - hubris, greed, lack of consumer care and no understanding what they are even supposed to produce in terms of basic features.

    5 pairs later

    • Written by Charles M from Camden

    Angry human internet post #37642-5885

Sound great before the intentional shelf life expires. Each time one side has suddenly stopped working.

I once owned a 3.5mm pair for three years before I had to replace.

I’m now on my 5th pair of lightning connector earbuds within two years. (6 months of that I didn’t have headphones as I was exasperated)

I don’t treat my headphones badly. In fact I became more cautious after each fail.

This latest fail I was watching a video and heard the left side weaken then cut out completely. There was no rough use or stress on the connector...

Reading the reviews here it’s clearly a common issue.
Absolutely disgusted that a company (that once distinguished itself via its world leading design ethic) feel it’s ok to continue releasing this product with a design fault. It just doesn’t work. What a waste of time, resources and money. Yes they’re under warrantee but after the third time it’s become a joke, it’s depressing when the store employees are being told to act surprised when they probably deal with these several times each day.
I can only conclude they're intentionally designed to fail. Sad.
