    great but...

    • Written by Esme C from Bakersfield

I’ve been reading other comments on how theirs have stopped working or just complete broke. I don’t understand how people can break theirs so easily. I’ve have 2 (I found one on the floor at work a while back) and both work perfectly fine. One of them is over a year old. I listen to music every day for hours a day. Have had no problems with it. But I am getting tired of not being able to charge my phone and listen to music at the same time. You guys need to create one that supports both at the same time. There are many on Amazon but they have bad reviews because they stop working after new updates. Please create an official one.

    Works just fine

I bought two not trusting much the bad reviews. It is working just fine either with Apple’s headset or Bose QC25. The volume control and the mic works for both headsets.

    Works Great!

If your headphone controls don't work, you need to update to iOS 10.0.2. The lack of inline control was a bug fixed in that release.

I bought a few of these (my car isn't as fancy as some, regular headphones--where are my Bose QC25 friends at?, extra at my desk just in case). Once I updated, they work as I would expect headphones connected the "old way" would.

Yes , we all know that its BS idea that they took out the headphone jack for idk what reason but I’m glad I still have the ability to listen to music in my car via aux cord using this . It does what it’s supposed to do . Just stressful that I can’t listen and charge at the same time .

    THESE ACTUALLY WORK FINE

    • Written by Brian D from Colorado Springs

This adapter DOES work with Bose headphones for Apple, both for volume control and mute as well as the in-line microphone. They are super flimsy, so dropping your phone with this adapter installed is a bad idea, but it is a bad idea anyway.

Buying a couple spares to keep around. I hate that I need the product, and wish there was a stronger nylon braided version, but it does actually work as intended.

This works just fine and lasts me a good while. It's never broken when I've I had it and its compatible with the earphones I use and I usually change up the earphones I use every so often. The only reason I'd have to repurchase this is if I lost my headphones. People just like to complain I guess..

I hate using this adapter as I wanna plug my earbuds like before. However, it's been a year and half and I've had no issues with this adapter. Also I listen to music all day and I connect this with my beats headphones and have had zero issues.

    Works for me.

This jack adapter worked fine with my "sleep time" headphones. Until I lost it. I bought what I thought were "apple" brand adapters, but after my excitement getting them, great disappointment that they don't work. So, it is either switch to Bluetooth (which doesn't work well at night) or buy an authorized one. Apple, couldn't you at least lower the price to $5? The headphones that came with my new phone are not comfortable and fall out all the time.

    NOT BAD AT ALL

    • Written by Denise T from BRONX

I for one don't have an issue with this adapter. I use the one that came with my iPhone X with the old earbuds that I had with my iPhone 6. I have a couple of 3.5 mm Apple earbuds that I plan to use this gadget on. I even use it on my wireless Beats with no problem.

I don't understand the overwhelming number of negative reviews. I bought a couple of these when I received my iPhone XR late last October, and they have worked fine. Granted, I typically leave them attached to their headphones and do a minimal amount of disconnecting and connecting to another mp3 cable.

I'm about to order a third.

    Works Just Fine

    • Written by Randy B from Seattle

I own a number of pairs of moderate to high-end headphones (B&H, Bose and UE). I tested the adapter with them on my new iPhone 7 Plus and compared with direct line into my iPhone 6s. The sound is easily comparable between the two, although the sound quality from the 7 Plus appeared to be somewhat improved!

As for issues with the in-line controls, I did not have any problems with them using the Volume, Pause, Prev and Next controls. They all worked fine without any problems. Again, I'm using good quality headphones so can't vouch for cheaper ones which may not have been manufactured according to Apple specs. Note: I did not test in-line mic functionality.

Not sure why Apple users seem to be having problems.

    • Written by Jaqueline K from Jacksonville

The inline controls and microphones on both my Frends headphones and Razer headphones work just fine with the adapter. I'm glad to have it- my car is too old to have an aux hookup, so I use a tape deck adapter with this adapter and it works great!

    Great product

    • Written by Adrien H from Incline Village

I don't understand the negative reviews...
Sure if the phone had kept the 3.5mm connector many of us would be better off.
Still I think Apple offered the best replacement they could with this adapter.
Honestly the sound quality is superior than the previous integrated audio.
I tested with a few headphones including the very revealing Shure SE846 and the adapter beats a 6S hands down.
Now for the durability I don't know what people do with it but I have been using my adapter for 6 months now and no issue or sign of wear. I guess I take care of my stuff...

    No Problems

    • Written by david R from johnson city

Just got on Apple site to order a spare dongle to have in my car and see all these negative reviews .. guess I'm the outlier here in that I've had zero problems with mine for over a year and neither has my wife or 2 daughters .. I frequently wonder how many of these reviews are actually users and how many are trolls with nothing better to do with their lives .. in this instance , I'm betting on the latter .. I have a number of friends with iPhone 7s , 8s and X and none of them have had a problem .. to me the giveaway is the continued complaints that third party devices and controls don't work via this dongle which simply isn't true .. I've used 2 generations of Bose wired ear buds , a set from Skull Candy and one from JBL .. they all work fine .. go figure ... having said that I do wish Apple would have left the headphone jack in the phones to begin with .. I've heard the statement that it allowed them to make the phones thinner , but there are phones out there from other companies that are just as thin or thinner than my iPhone that still have headphone jacks in them .. oh well , so it goes I reckon ..

I use Bose active sport ear buds with inline mic and all functionality of my ear buds is intact. Just wish they would leave the 3.5 mic on the phone, I rarely use my speaker phone and so having a larger speaker phone is simply useless for me.

Perfect! Brought my Rode mic back to life!

    • Written by Miguel L from Honolulu

I bought a Rode Video Micro to use with my iPhone 6 and it worked perfectly, then I updated to iOS 10 and it stopped working. I don't know if it was upgrading the iOS or if something happened to my headphone port. My 3.5 mm Apple EarPods work just fine though. I wanted the lightning to 3.5 mm adapter to see if my Rode mic would work again and it did!!! It's working perfectly with my iPhone 6! Another small 3.5 mm microphone that never worked now works. This is perfect for anyone that has microphones that don't want to work through the headphone port on older iPhones. Music quality also sounds great to me. Definitely worth the price!

This adapter does what it is supposed to. It works with my Bose in ear headphones and I can use my remote on my Bose headphones with this adapter. I have not had any issues with it. Ordering a second adapter for my office.

    Works Fine

    • Written by Angela C from Fort Riley

I got my 7 about a month ago, bought an extra cable just in case and just to have an extra one. They're only $9 no matter where you go, so it's not a bad deal considering other accessories cost significantly more. My original cable works just fine, no complaints. Sounds just like it would from the original port. I use mine everyday to & from work, no issues.
