These Do Not Stay In A Human-Sized Ear

    • Written by Magdalene J from Silver Spring

These earbuds consistently fall out of my human sized ears! Unlike the last generation of Apple Headphones they haven't stopped working yet, but I have had to buy a pair of headphones to replace this brand new pair of pods because they constantly fall out!
What do you do with this Company that knows that they own the market? Will they listen? Do they read these reviews?!

They just can't get some of the little things right...between these pods and the chargers that fray--so maddening!
Apple, maybe making different sizes of pods for different sizes of the human ear may work? Or perhaps Apple might think to add a ring of rubber to the end of the smooth material of the pod so they don't easily fall out of the ear! I would charge you for this idea, but I'm sure you guys do not read these reviews!

I love these headphones and have been using them since I got an iPhone 5s in 2014, however lately their quality seems to have declined. I had my first pair for over a year with no problems until I lost them. I have bought multiple pairs since, and all of them have lost sound in the left ear within a couple of months. These headphones have the best sound quality by far for affordable headphones that I have tried, but the sound loss really is a problem and diminishes their value a lot.

    Great until useless

    • Written by Ruiter G from Valinhos

They work as a charm for a few months, and then one of the earphones just stops working (with me was the left side).
Thought I was just unlucky so I was ready to buy new ones, until I read the reviews and found out this is quite a common issue.

Not really interested in throwing away $30 so will not be buying another one for a long time. I can definitely find better built headphones for the same price on Amazon.

As a high school student I use these headphone almost everyday. However I just got given a rarely used new pair from a friend and as soon as I left them in my locker for one hour they melted and the ear piece slit into two pieces. I love hear headphones and I am really disappointed with how they broke.

    They just don't last long

    • Written by Robin W from Florence

I keep buying them because they have good sound and they stay in my ears; but... invariably, either the controller and/or the input plug wears out within 3 months. Granted, I do listen to my books on my iPod most the day and I'm pausing and adjusting the volume on the controller a lot. I don't, however, pull the input plug out very often and that becomes dysfunctional regardless. I do test the earbuds with my iphone when they start getting wonky on my ipod and get the same poor results. All I can say, they are not made to last.

    1 year life span

    • Written by Stephan T from Sande

I like how they feel, they are indeed comfortable, the sound quality is decent and the mic ok. BUT. This will be my 4th pair in 4 years.... Seriously faulty wiring at the connection end. I suspect this is done on purpose to force customers to buy them more often. The nice thing is that they fall apart right after the warranty runs out time after time... Its always in the same place as well. These are NOT made for listening to music/calling with your phone in your pocket all day, this type of use will ruin the headset.

What happens is that any force (sometimes no force, I swear it just goes crazy) applied to the wire makes the entire phone to go haywire. I can be sat completely still and suddenly the phone will start calling my contacts or hangs up when I don't want to. It will constantly change songs, edit volume etc... I expected more.

These earbuds are fine. They have semi-decent sound quality, they're pretty comfortable, but they just do not last long enough!! I've had my for a little while and they're acting up a lot. They randomly pause and unpause my music, they randomly skip songs, sometimes the right earbud doesn't work at all, sometimes it does, Siri turns on and off over and over again until I unplug the earbuds- the list goes on. It's annoying, it really, really, is.

Come on Apple, is this the best you can offer?

    • Written by Nolan M

These headphones came with my iPhone 6s, the last iPhone to use a standard headphone audio port (WHY????). At first I was impressed, they came in a nice looking case, and I liked the built-in volume control and mic. They seemed like they would be better than the old apple earbuds I had from my iPod shuffle (Why did you have to discontinue those?). I tried them on, and the sound quality was very good, however, they are very uncomfortable. Sure, they feel fine at first, but I have to use them a lot and after a while they hurt. Why do you continue to use plastic for them??? No one likes it, as can be clearly seen on the consistently bad reviews you've had on all your headphones. Why can't you do what the rest of the world does, and use silicone? Yes, you sell a pair with the silicone tips, but seriously, $79???? I can buy a perfectly decent set for $10 - $20. For the price of the iPhone, you should be able to afford to give a better pair of headphones in the box. Your computers and phones are great, but you have some serious work to do on your headphones if you want happier customers and better reviews.

Good audio quality, but short lifespan

    • Written by Michael M M from Bellingham

I've always liked the audio quality of Apple EarPods, both the speakers and the mic, but they consistently don't last very long, I'd say a year plus/minus. I've gone through probably 4-5 sets over the last 5 years, and I will never buy another pair again. I had a pair of Sony earbuds that lasted over 10 years, and they were actually a bit cheaper than the Apple EarPods. I'd give them 4 stars for audio/mic sound quality, but 1/2 star for longevity.

Good for a while, but DO NOT LAST

    • Written by Oliver R from Marblehead

I got these about 7 months ago (I've gone through 4 pairs in 2-3 years) and for the first few months, they worked fine. About 2 months in, I pulled them a little too hard and the covering above the plastic where the cord splits into two ripped, revealing the wires. I admit this was mostly my fault, but still, I'd expect them to be at least a bit more resistant, especially for $30 earbuds. I didn't notice a difference in performace for another few months when sound started bleeding out of both buds, even at lower volumes, and most recently, within a week, the right bud as well as the volume/mic controls went inactive, for no apparent reason. This seems to be a trend, because that exact issue occured with my previous two earpods. I'm extremely dissatisfied, especially coming from such a premium company like Apple.

    Wire Shortage

    • Written by Tyler H

These headphones are great when you first buy them. Great quality, great bass, great treble and they are so loud and the first experience is so intriguing. But at the wire that starts from the jack always has a shortage then they completely stop working. Great first time use but horrible outcome

    Got stuck in computer

    • Written by Misha T from Great Falls,

I plugged these earbuds into my computer, and it broke, now the part of the plugger is stuck in the computer. Also, the actual earbuds could un-socket and show the wires, and the wire was ripping easily. The sound was good, but AWFUL quality. I am extremely disappointed because I thought Apple could do much better. Please improve in the future. D: :(

    Doesn't fit my device

    • Written by Jan W from Vancouver

I was pleased to see earbuds in the box if my iPhone SE. Unfortunately they don't snap all the way into the earphone jack. I can put them in my iPad no problem, but they don't work with the iPhone they actually came with. Disappointing.
They also seem too large for my ears.

I’ve always loved Apple’s headphones because I have small ears and theirs fit me well! I recently bought an iPhone X and the headphones it came with broke after 3 months. The right bud just stopped working completely suddenly, which was really irritating. I’m really disappointed in the quality of their products. Their headphones use to be so much better. I don’t even know if I’m going to buy another pair because I’m afraid they’ll go out again in a few months. I can’t afford $30 headphones every 3 months.

    Not worth the price.

    • Written by Alayna C from Franklin

I have went through at lest 7 iphone headphones in the last few years because one of the speakers goes out. These are NOT worth $30, they worth at the most $15. So not worth it. You need better quality headphones. Tired of spending $30 on headphones when they just break in the next few months. I just got my headphones with my new phone in May and one speaker is already out. i don’t even listen to my music loud. i’m just so sick of it.
