    Love It

I have had these earphones since Christmas and they've lasted so well. I feel like most of the comments that say that "it didn't last so long" is because they're miss using the actual device. These earphones are worth it if your a music, podcast, etc lover.

Stay Away! It’s a waste of money.

These headphones were great. Emphasis on were. They connected fine and had an acceptable battery life. However, after the first 6 or so months the battery quits. It won’t charge and doesn’t turn on. It flashes a blue light and then dies. Terrible product. Don’t waste your money. It’s a shame that Apple is like this, and I love Apple, but they need to fix their broken products.

    Repeatedly disconnect during workout

I am so disappointed in these headphones. They repeatedly disconnect during my running workout. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting them from my iPhone, I’ve checked for firmware updates. Nothing is solving this. I would not recommend this product.

    Does not work consistently

The sound and general functionality of these headphones are good, but they loose their connection too frequently to the iphone. then attempts to reconnect the blue tooth even with restarts to the phone or headphones do not work. so wired headphones are needed as a back up, which eliminates the purpose of having these. for the cost these are not reliable enough.

    Best iPhone wireless headset

Better sound quality than AirPods. Sleek design and super convenient.

    Very Disappointed

The earphones worked fine for about a month before they stopped working, even though I took very good care of them.

I suspect it's a hardware problem: when I hold down the power button, the unit doesn't turn on unless I twist the neck band in various ways as I depress the power button. Then the unit doesn't turn off (when I hold down the power button) unless I either twist the neck band in various ways or begin charging the unit. Also, the power light periodically blinks red (sometimes three times). When the unit is on, it will connect to via Bluetooth to devices like normal but the connection will fail if the neck band is twisted, even slightly. I tried resetting the unit (turning it off and depressing the multifunction button and volume down button for eight second) but the problem persists.

So I suspect it's a wiring issue and am sending it back to Beats. What's terrible is that it sounds like a lot of other people are having similar issues, so the problem is probably a manufacturer's defect, and Apple only gives me the option of repairing or replacing it, when I'd really like a refund, or at least the option to get credit towards some other Beats product. Guess I have to hope that the repair/replacement doesn't have the same problem (BTW, the warranty on the repaired/replacement unit is 90 days if your manufacturer's 1 year warranty expires in the interim).

I'd strongly caution people against buying these. Save the hassle by getting a more reliable product.

Lasted only 6 months before battery failure, extremely disappointed

I really wanted to love these headphones - they paired seamlessly with my iPhone, iMac, and iPad; they're fashionable and have good sound - but the product lifespan is not worth the price. Your money is better spent on well-established brands with decent warranties or waiting for later generations of this product.

My first pair had to be returned within the first 30 days because it stopped charging. The pair that replaced it worked beautifully until about 6 months after when it stopped turning on and stopped charging. Now, all it does is produce a quickly blinking light on the power button when plugged into the lightning charger. It's unknown whether or not I can replace this or get refunded under basic manufacturer warranty but, since this is an Apple product, it's unlikely. I feel like I wasted $200.

    Such disappointment

I just bought these and they arrived and I immediately hooked them up yesterday.
Pros: The packaging is fantastic - it's all laid out in a really nice and convenient display. The grey color of these headphones is very nice - it looks really slick. They give you 4 sets of ear buds, and two sets of wings, so you can find the best fit for you. Setup was amazingly simple. After turning them on they paired with my phone almost instantly, super easy, and the battery status is displayed on the Notification screen, which is quite convenient and helpful. I bought them for use at work, so I tested out leaving my phone at my desk and took a stroll around the office and there was zero interruption in connectivity.

Tolerable Cons: The setup is completely opposite from the regular iPhone ear pods that come standard issue with your phone - the remote is on the left instead of the right, so that takes some getting used to. I will say that, despite the customizable ear bud materials, these have a weird feel/fit, at least for me. I am still having a hard time getting used to them - either I feel like they are too loose or they are going to cause an injury to my inner ear canal. They also do not roll up as nicely as advertised. I found it challenging to get them to fit in the case without any of the wiring hanging out.

Intolerable Cons: the sound quality, as others have mentioned, is incredibly subpar. I get more oomph from the iPhone ear pods that come with the phone. Unless I push and hold them further into my ear and risk puncturing my eardrum, the sound is basically garbage. I should not have to maim myself to get great sound. There is no bass. If you turn the volume up the sound quality just gets even more tinny and ugly. This experience reminded me of when I was young and had a pair of off-brand headphones circa 1994 that I would have to physically hold with my hands against my ears to get better sound. I'm very disappointed, especially since these were not cheap and I would expect better from something with Dre's name on it . You know that man wants to jam to his tunes. If he's saying these are jam worthy, then I must have gotten a horribly defective pair, but based on the other reviews I've seen, I don't think that's the case. These are just sad. I'm going to be reaching out to initiate return/refund immediately. Since I've only had them for one day, it better not be a problem. After this negative experience, and reading more reviews on other wireless ear bud headphone formats, I'm definitely going for a pair of wireless over-ear headphones instead. Such a disappointment.

    Stay away

I've had my Beatsx for about the month now. It's not connecting to my iPhone 7 Plus at all. Even after charging. Staying away from the brand in general now.

    They get the job done

These aren’t that loud but loud enough. I’ve heard louder headphones but with the earbuds it comes with the outside noise gets cancelled out. I use these mainly when I workout. To be honest I should’ve gotten the PowerBeats or headphones that were made to workout in. I find myself always putting the earbuds back in my ear and readjusting them when they would slip out. The wingtip doesn’t help much. If you’re going to use them just to watch YouTube videos or Netflix etc., Then they’re good headphones. Battery life is pretty good. What I love most about these is the Fast Charging. If the headphones have low battery, just let them charge for 5 minutes and you’re good for about 2 hours. Really convenient if you’re in a rush. My only issue for me is that for some reason I’m having trouble turning the headphones on. This just started happening a few weeks ago. There’s times where they turn on with no problem, then there’s times where they won’t turn on at all (Fulley charged). I got these back in March as a gift. Wouldn’t think to have any problem with them after 3 months. Other than that they’re pretty good headphones. If you’re getting these solely just to workout in, I suggest the PowerBeats or headphones meant for working out in. But as regular headphones for music, videos, etc these are good.

    So disappointed with these

They're no good for any sort of vigorous exercise. The neckpiece pulls them out of your ears, and the wind pulls them down the back of your neck. The wingtips are useless to help them stay in my ears. Overall they're just clumsy and not very attractive while you wear them.

    Good, but not great.

I bought these back in February because I liked the design of them and I'm a PowerBeats fan and thought maybe the Beats X would have the same sound quality, but I was wrong. I have to turn the sound up 3/4 up versus 1/2 on my PowerBeats. Sound quality is the only issue I have with these, but other than that, they're okay. If the sound matched the hype they surrounded this product with, they'd be a homerun hit.

    Good, not Great...

I ordered these earphones for work, so I could listen to music while at the office. These earphones work great at home, but at work they cut in and out while holding my iPad in my hand! There is no interference in the environment. Frustrating to say the least!

Battery life horrible .. I have yet to get 8hrs of play.. I try to use them all day at work.. barley get 5 hours & im almost dead. Have screenshots to prove. I figured it was just a faulty device so I returned & got another one.. same issue. After charging, 40-50 minutes later I'm already at 85%.. battery life is horrible. I really had high hopes for this product. Might give it one more try... besides that I like them

    Great alternative to the AirPods.

I bought the beats x wireless headphones because I was sick and tired of the wired headphones that came with my 6s.
I also bought the beats x wireless headphones because I got sick and tires of the wait times for the AirPods. If you are going to unveil a product and don't have enough for the masses to help push your companies product stock to an even all time high, then don't make these AirPods available until you have an over abundant amount on hand to cut the ship dates from 6-8 weeks, to 1-3 weeks.
Personally I don't like Dr. Dre. Never have never will. So I cringed when I made my first purchase that had his name tied to the beats x product.
With all of that aside..... I love the headphones. The W1 chip, the same as in the AirPods syncs effortlessly with all my Apple devices with ease.
Great battery life, great looking color to match my iPhone ( grey ), and I like how it wraps around my neck and has the same features and functions as my wired headphones that came with my iPhone minus the 3.5 mm jack. Wireless technology is here to stay at Apple and I for one am on board.
I have also herd not to many great reviews for the AirPods which is why I went the Beats route. For a guy who loves music with a decent amount of bass the beats x are for you. For those who want more or an extreme amount more bass, then the pricer $200 dollar and up beats or Bose audio headsets are for you. Best $150 I ever spent. Which was also another + over the AirPods, $10 bucks cheaper.
Happy Apple customer and now Happy Apple Beats customer. 5 stars all the way. Highly recommend to anyone.

    Worst Beats Ever

I don't recommend this one. Sounds like a cheap headset. Not worth the price. You are just paying for the name but not the quality. Get the AIRPODS.

    Functional but tinny

I'm pretty bummed i went in for these at a buck fifty. I was excited for an alternative to the airpods obvious design flaws but these are a disappointment too. Functionally they're are great but the sound is sub-par. i expected more. base is almost non-existent. bluetooth tech ain't worth this much alone. wouldn't recommend.

    Awesome earphones

I recently purchased a set of the BeatsX earphones (Gray) and have been enjoying them every day.
They instantly paired with my iPhone 5c and were recognized on my 27" iMac, 2016 Retina MacBook, iPad Air 2, and Apple Watch.

The sound quality is quite good, though it varies depending on placement within the ear canal as all/most of this style earphones do.
I've found that I can slightly position the earbuds to get more or less bass depending on the song and my mood.

Battery life appears to be as expected (which is great) and I really enjoy the 5 minute fuel up for getting 2 hours of playback. I believe it only takes 45 minutes to charge fully. They seem to be delivering the expected 8 hours of battery life.

The fit in my ears is comfortable and I'm using the ear tips that were installed on the BeatsX in the packaging. I haven't tried the other tips or the Wing tips yet. As a side note, the older Apple Earpods never fit well in my ears, so the BeatsX are perfect for me.

It's great to use the inline remote to adjust volume and skip forwards/backwards through tracks without using Siri to do so. Siri works well. I have not placed or answered phone calls using the BeatsX yet, so I can't comment on the quality of that.

I wasn't sure how I'd like the cord hanging around the back of my neck, but I honestly don't even notice it's there. Most days I wear a shirt with no collar and I can barely feel it resting on my neck.

If the BeatsX is something that fits your listening and use requirements, I'd easily recommend getting a set. I'm a very happy owner.

BeatsX have become an item of clothing for me

I have had my BeatsX Earphones for a month now. They have become an item of clothing that I don every morning and wear until the end of the day. I use them with my iPhone, iMac, iPad and MacBook. I switch from one device to another by simply telling the device I am using to connect to the earphones. The connection is made quickly and seamlessly. With the multple sized eartips and optional wingtpis, the BeatsX are the most comfortable earbuds I have ever used. And they stay put even in cold weather. They stay in place no matter my activity. For example, I recently removed brush and unwanted small trees from a steep hillside. I was moving up and down the hill, sometimes on my knees cutting brambles and trees with a small hand saw, and they stayed in place and I enjoyed music while I worked. My ratings: comfort 10/10, staying in my ears 10/10, sound quality 8/10 (this includes comparing them to on-ear headphones).
