    Back in Black

    • Written by Timothy P from WEST BROOKFIELD

Other reviewers mention the brighter colors getting dark after usage; nothing is darker than black, so I went with the black case. Fit and finish are really good, which you don’t often find with off-brand cases. Will this case prevent the glass from breaking after a 6’ drop? Probably not, but that’s not what it’s designed for. It will, however, reduce the number of scratches that would occur without it. I would recommend this to family and friends.

    Questionable quality

I purchased this item and had to exchange it very soon after. The leather tore after I put it on my phone, from the bottom. The exchange process in-store was very quick and easy The second case also tore, but after a couple of months of use. I don’t switch or my case unless it’s for a new one. I’m not sure how this second case tore because I had not removed it.
This is not a very durable case. I’m going to have buy a brand new case soon.

    Awesome looking case!

I bought this case on an impulse when buying a new band for my Series 3 Apple Watch. I saw it on the shelf and immediately fell in love with it. In the past I've always used Otterbox Symmetry cases, but even they add too much bulk. Classy, attractive, and the perfect amount of "bulk." Makes this big phone feel much smaller!

    Touch of Class

I picked up a black leather case for my new 8 plus by chance. The "chance" being that my local Apple store was sold out of the basic silicon case and most of their leather stock. I wasn't interested in another plastic case.

Turns out, this is a really nice case.

If you are at all concerned about keeping your leather case in tip top shape and not worry about scratches and oils from your hand staining the leather, do yourself a favor and treat your new case with a leather conditioner. It takes a minute, let it dry, buff, and you'll give your case a protective treatment that will guard against stains and scuffs. An added benefit is that the conditioner will make the case feel a little tackier to the touch too.

    Best case available.

This case is great. I upgraded from a 6S+ to an 8+, and they’ve added actual buttons for the volume and the power which is very nice. I dropped my old phone a good amount, and the leather case always protected it. It looked like a brand new phone when I traded it in (which kind of makes me wonder why I bothered to upgrade). I expect similar results from this case.

    Works as you'd expect

If you bought any previous silicone/leather iPhone case from Apple in the past, you've effectively used this one, too. Offered in either silicone or leather (I went with the latter), the case leaves the front and bottom of the phone exposed, but covers the sides and back. Offered in various colors, the silicone is arguably going to offer slightly better protection due to its more flexible nature, but is also a major dust magnet. The leather looks and feels a little nicer, but also will naturally stain and discolor (mainly darken) over time.

For the 8/8+ specifically, these cases still allow for wireless charging, so you don't have to remove them. The latest rendition of these cases, which work for the 7+/8+ also seem to have better quality buttons. On the older make I had, the button overlays were just raised silicone or leather, and were a bit mushy. Now, it appears actual metal buttons are affixed to the case, feeling much nicer.
