Magnet not strong enough with redesigned product

    • Written by GEORGE B from Great Falls

I bought this similar Apple product 3 years ago with my iPad Pro 9.7 (2016)
Was completely happy with it. Original starting to wear out so I bought this to replace it.
This new product has a slight redesign with felt over the magnet connection area. Cover will not stay connected to iPad, thus of no use.
Falls off from standing position. I will be returning this.

    Falling apart after 12 months

Nice cover, but falling apart after 14 months... poor quality.

It’s fine! I actually prefer this.

You have to know what you are getting. It’s best to see the product in use first before deciding whether this is the cover for you. It does not cover the sides, corners or back. If that is important to you, buy a different cover. On the other hand, if you are like me, and appreciate the light weight, elegant feel, better access to the side buttons, then this may be the cover for you.

Loved the FULL cover on my old iPad, much better than this one which only covers the top. I know it says cover. Why would it only cover the top, crazy and not protective. Go back to the old style!

    Piece of junk

    • Written by Glenda A from Paradise

$40!? Maybe I was expecting miracles but the cover does not attach to the iPad at all. It just slips around making it a pain to use. Waste of money!!

    Do NOT Buy

    • Written by Patrick S from Fenton

This is only a cover which magnetizes and falls off often. The back and sides have no protection and your iPad will become ruined fast. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. IT IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL. Apple please make this as a case. The colors were great, but protection matters most.

Solid cover for screen protection and iPad stand

    • Written by Jordan K from Lansing

I've never found the need for the added protection that cases provide iPads since I baby my tech, but the extra features and sleek look sold me on this smart cover. The outer material feels sturdy yet light and the inner material being microfiber has the added bonus of wiping away lots of finger prints while you're not using it. I use the cover as a stand on an almost daily basis which works as easily and reliably as you would hope. The magnets have a really strong grip so you can even hold your iPad from the cover without dropping the iPad (although I'd still advise against it). If you have an Apple Pencil, the magnets will also lightly hold it in place if you're worried about it rolling around on your desk. Very pleased with this purchase.

It's a cover. It works great.

    • Written by Sandra L from Encino

I've had this cover two years now and it's only now showing signs of wear. It protects my screen. I can use it as a stand. I can use it to turn my iPad Air off and on. In short, it performs exactly as per specification. That's why I'm getting a replacement that's exactly the same.

    Get back

    • Written by Laurie A from Armonk

Hate that it has no back on it. Admittedly I am klutz so don’t like leaving any part of iPad naked. I just ordered $50 case just for the back of my iPad. Had case on old iPad that covered whole thing and lasted for years so surprised by the change.

    Poor Design

    • Written by Kenneth B from New York

I understand it’s a cover. And I understand a magnet attaches the iPad to the cover. However operationally its very annoying. Prop it up by folding the cover toward the back and use while laying on your back - a sudden move causes it to pop off the magnet. Very light is great and I traveled with it last week. Turbulence on the plane as it sat on the tray table - opps there it goes popping off the magnet. That did not happen with the two sided case that Apple used to distribute where the iPad fit into the back of a two sided 39 dollar case of similar material.

Very poor design - do not buy unless you understand what I believe to be a real negative.

The one star reviewers must be joking

    • Written by Shelby B

I have had this cover over 6 months so far and it is still holding up and has never disappointed me and goes as far as staying nearly good as new. I take care of mine and be as careful as I can be with it and it hasn't split itself apart nor does it fall off and does as intended. I actually recommend this cover and deserves more positive reviews especially since my friends took notice they realized how poorly they were treating their covers as well.

    I LOVE this cover

    • Written by Christine B from Springvale

The description clearly states that this is a cover. It isn’t a case, it is a cover. It quickly attached to the side of my iPad and covers the area of the screen perfectly. I can quickly grab my iPad, open the cover and it is ready to go! When you put the cover back over the screen, it goes into “sleep mode.” All you need to do is lift the cover and it is ready to go! I am used to using my iPhone to read recipes, but now I can use my iPad. The case turns into a perfect way to prop up my iPad while I prepare a recipe. I can easily look at the screen for the next step or ingredient. Thank you for creating an excellent cover for my screen, that also supports a great cause, and is also a kickstand when I am prepping dinner!

    A disappointment

    • Written by Lawrence H from Poway

I've had this cover for at least six months now, and it is practically falling apart. I'm careful with my electronics, but this just becomes incredibly floppy and loose. The previous iPad cover for the model before the Pro was much better.

Poor Value Wait for Cover 2.0

    • Written by Bruce V from Bloomington

Very disappointed in Apple. I found this product to be a very poor value. The cover attaches using magnets. It attaches to the side of the iPad, and it only covers the screen. The cover is a clever and simple design, though it offers no protection to the back of the pad. I left the cover attached to my pad all the time. I used the cover for only three weeks, and the main hinge (the material between the attachment magnets and the cover) developed tears. Luckily for me, it failed within my return window. I sent it back to Apple. I recommend you wait for cover 2.0.

    Not what I expected

    • Written by Julie B from Kelseyville

For this price I expected something a bit better than this. It just magnets to the side of the tablet and flaps over the front. This is a complete waste of money! I spend $10 more on Amazon on on a sleeve that protects so much better.
