Mouse is great but ditch the lightening port and put it on the front!

    • Written by Dustin F from Lakewood

Seriously, if you would stop leeching money out of your customers I would have given this 5 stars. Instead somehow Apple ditched their "forward thinking" and decided to use old tech in their newest iteration of the wireless mouse device. Lets think about this, they even released a new "space gray" color that matches their newest line of macbooks - awesome! Here's the catch, it ships with a lightening charging cable that still uses the old bulky USB. Where the heck are we supposed to plug this in? Our new macbook? Oh wait, no, we're supposed to buy 3-4 dongles so we can charge our keyboard, mouse, and trackpad at the same time. I'm leaving a two star review because this design isn't well thought out. Lets ditch lightening ports altogether! Please commit to your vision and convert everything to USB-C! I can't stress enough how stupid this is. I also suggest you start shipping these devices with your overpriced USB-C to Lightening cables instead of old bulky USBs. As I'm sure others mentioned, actively charging it renders it useless. Oh and the space gray costs more money AND has better reviews, seriously?! SMH

    At least it looks nice.

Aside from the well-attested nuisance of uselessness during charging, the bluetooth connection is very unreliable. I'm now using a less elegant USB mouse. (But the magic mouse still makes a stylish paper-weight.)

    Expensive and Poor design

    • Written by Eric A from Santa Teresa

So expensive when compared to other products out there. Then when it needs charging you can't use it, because the charge port is on the bottom. Poor design from a company that is suppose to design great products. Very disappointed.

    Not recommended.

It's ok. Not terribly responsive. I don't understand why Apple chose not to include any page scrolling option. Scrolling via mouse movement doesn't work. There's no equivalent center scrolling wheel, but you can swipe through horizontal pages? Who designed this? This mouse should do everything a track pad does, but it does not. On the plus side, it looks nice, but I prefer practical functionality.

connectivity issues across three computers and three magic mouses

    • Written by PAYAM S from Austin

We have many apple computers from iMac to mini to the latest Macbook pro and it seems all of them are experiencing issues with occasional drop out of the signal of the magic mouses - we now have a box of these and are using various other mice sadly. Not sure how apple has screwed this up so bad - many calls with tech support have yet to fix what seems to be a simple bluetooth device issue. Perhaps my single biggest let down by the apple brand was the failure of these devices to reliably work for even 30 min without some glitch often major. Good luck - it seems that at least some of them work!

    On my 2nd one...

    • Written by James F from Birmingham

This *replacement mouse is now lagging with screen movement like the 1st one Apple replaced.
This is on another iMac also... I truly don't get it - white mouse works FINE!
Guess I'll be calling for a 3rd replacement soon.

Why is it black not space gray

    • Written by Dean H from Bellingham

I understand the complaint about the charging port on the underside of the mouse. Two trains of thought, yes the charge last a long time, but in typical fashion, it fails at that crucial moment, unplanned demo or presentation. I have to carry a back Magic Mouse 1 with batteries.

Anyway my issue is why is it not space gray on top, no one sees the space gray unless your charging it, it’s a black mouse, can we get a true space gray mouse please....

    Middle Mouse Button Please!

    • Written by Eric G from Fairview Heights

I got this Magic Mouse when I purchased my new 21.5 iMac earlier this year. I love my new system but the Magic Mouse 2 is practically useless to me without a middle mouse button! As an artist I rely on software programs which utilize a 3 button mouse. I've tried to find a workaround through YouTube videos and the App Store. Nothing I've tried works.

I understand there's a lot of negative feedback on the design of the mouse which doesn't allow you to use the mouse while it's being charged. I think it's odd how the cable plugs into the underside of the device but I typically plug it in while I'm away from my iMac. I notice that it charges VERY quickly and a full charge will last me several weeks!

I just hate the idea of having to purchase another mouse for my iMac in order to fully utilize the software programs that I use the most!

    Not as good as expected

    • Written by Vucko V from Palm Harbor

I got two of those and both are not working properly. Every 10 min they just stop working for 5-10 seconds or they move slow.

    Limited Functionality.

    • Written by Daniel W from La Crosse

Scrolling around in Adobe programs or Logic Pro is super easy with this mouse. But it shocks me that Apple doesn't sell a mouse with side buttons or dedicated left and right mouse buttons. I also can't believe iOS doesn't support front/back mouse buttons. Apple seriously needs to get with the times.

    Dear mouse designer at Apple,

I know how to improve the Magic Mouse WITHOUT changing a thing about it. I'd be more than happy to share my idea with you - just shoot me an email.

    Thanks,

    - disappointed Apple customer
