A bluetooth mouse with one fatal flaw

    • Written by Aaron F from Thornhill

It's a mouse and it works. Moves on my desk just fine, appreciate the physical click, like the finger gestures, and the battery lasts a long time.

However, it has one fatal flaw: the charging port is on the bottom of the mouse. Why? Why not put it on the side so I can still use it (like a classic mouse), instead of being forced to leave it upside down (and be unusable) while it charges? It's an obvious fix to a problem.

    Generally a very good device

    • Written by Pavel Y from Los Angeles

It would be a perfect mouse for daily usage if it was slightly bigger and had a zoom function with two fingers like a touchpad.
As for the charging slot location at the downside, it seems to be a design trade off and I don't care about that much, I don't have to charge it too often thanks to the battery life.

The mouse generally works perfectly. It feels much more accurate over bluetooth at MacBook than the other mouse I have (twice expensive btw). Despite its touch interface I never confused left and right clicks.

LOVE the Black, but still Dislike the Charging Location

    • Written by Tony K from Salem

Just love the black! But still wish the charging port was like at the top like the Apple Keyboard...so a person could keeping using it while it's charging.

So like other reviews I've left...while I absolutely LOVE Apple...I will have to admit to being a lil' disappointed that the Space Gray costs more. I mean we have 3 Space Gray MBP 15" and they didn't "cost" more...does seem a lil' money grubby...maybe? Yet, still love it!

And Apple needs to add the Space Gray options when a person orders a brand new Mac / iMac, Mac Mini, as well. Even if they do cost more still than the silver.

    Works well for my use/situation

    • Written by Ed G from Yorktown

I am a new Mac user, and I am writing this for similar newer users. Magic Mouse 2 does the job well for me. Knowing what I know and my use I would repurchase. One caveat--the better the surface the better the performance. I use mine at home with MacBook Air. I work on an older wooden dining room table with a minutely irregular surface. The mouse works "okay" on that with the occasional hiccup or "jump". To avoid scratching the table top I place the computer on a hard/smooth surface table mat ( vinyl). I just happened to slide the computer over a bit and used the mouse on that surface and Shazam it has worked smoothly ever since. I imagine it is the sensitivity of the technology but unsure. Easy initial connect to bluetooth and for subsequent connections (if you ever disconnect) as well. Took me a while to figure out to go to the bluetooth icon to do that. Battery usage is excellent. There should be no worries recharging when needed if you occasionally check the MM usage meter ( see blue tooth icon for MM). I can right click, left click, pull-down --all without problem. The multi-touch surface works well for "swipes" and "scrolling". It is sensitive but as my personal "touch" improves using it that, again, performance improves. I have not yet encountered a software program that does not respond to MM use.

    Just one Issue!

    • Written by Domingo M from South Elgin

I can live with plugins the cable from the bottom. Like the feel, but the gloss finish is TERRIBLE! Finger prints all over the top surface. It should have the same finish as the keys on the Space Gray keyboard.

    Great Mouse but buy white

    • Written by Brian S from thornville

Seems to be much more stable with my new MBP's finicky bluetooth than my magic mouse 1.0. Port on the bottom is not an issue. I take away one star because it is black not really space gray. Only gray on the bottom that you can't see. Received as a gift, but would definitely not pay an extra $20 for this "black" one.

it tracks a little odd but I think I can get used to it

    • Written by John C from San Jose

everything works exactly as I expected and im happy with my purchase but the tracking is so bad im hoping theres an update or something soon because It works good on my desk table but it doesn't work so well on my mouse pad. thats a problem for me cause I don't wanna rub the mouse on the table since it was 99.99 plus tax and I rather use a mouse pad thanks.
