    Great Mouse

    • Written by Evan L from Wahoo

I don't know why people keep complaining about the charging port being on the bottom. The battery lasts well over a month if not two of everyday all day use. This means that 1 day out of 60. You have to remember to plug it in at night or before leaving work and your set for another 60 days..
Not only that, but in about 2 min of charging the mouse gains about 8 hours of battery life. yes, I said 2 min people!
My only complaint would be that scrolling is sometimes too sensitive. Other than that its a great mouse!

This mouse does NOT have a fatal flaw

    • Written by Don L from Tucson

This mouse does NOT have any fatal flaws. Virtually every rechargeable device that I have will NOT operate while charging. That includes electric razors, grooming trimmers, nail buffers, drills, cameras, phones, etc, etc. But if a mouse charging port is not on the side so that it can be used while charging it is given a one star ratings and a hate speach. Guess what, peeps! Even if the charging port were on the side, you would still NOT be able to use it while charging.... Doh! The good news is... a quick two minute charge will give you enough juice for another eight hours of use, and a full charge will last more than a month. The real reason that the charging port is on the bottom is for a visual indication that the mouse cannot be used while charging (for people dumber than a bag of hair). Good work Apple. The magic mouse 2 is AWESOME!

    Awesome product!

    • Written by Alan Duke W from Las Cruces

I read a lot of reviews before buying the mouse, which is my normal routine but I'm glad I ignored most of them. Magic Mouse 2 is perfect for your Macbook, I have the New MacBook Air.

    1. The gestures work perfectly.
    2. Battery - listen if you only charge once per month or even every other week, why does it matter where the port is. No successful person is on their laptops 24/7. The device is fully charged in 60-90 minutes and lasts 3-4 weeks.
    3. It just looks and feels good.

Enjoy your mouse and disregard all the charging talk, its a moot point.

    Great Mouse - Charging Explained

    • Written by Armando M A from Anderson

Hi everyone, I just purchased the Magic Mouse 2 and I love it. I wanted to explain the charging issue. There is none. The battery charge gives you 7.5 minutes of use for every one second that you charge. So, if you charge it for 5 seconds, you’ll get a little over 30 minutes of use.

    What's The issue?

    • Written by Tyler Z from Baltimore

I've used this mouse since its inception. It works flawlessly, no lagging issues, anyone who reports that must have an old mac or something wrong with something else other than the mouse. Connects quickly, but it does however disconnect unexpectedly every now and again. The charging port is on the underside. At first it did seem annoying, and realistically is a very poor choice of location, but it takes 10 minutes to charge. Go stretch, take a bathroom break, kiss your wife and kids, by the time you get back its charged. Y'all should be responsible adults and charge the thing at night like you do your phone and everything else anyway.

    Still a 5-Star, in spite of -

    • Written by Robert H L from Key Biscayne

    $20 extra for Space Gray.

USB-A to Lightning cable. Really? What computer do they offer in Space Gray that does not have USB-C? Now, list the Space Gray Laptops that are ONLY USB-C. For the "Space Gray" 20 extra bucks, they could at least give us the correct cable, especially since they just charged me $19 for the cable that should have come with it in the first place.

Charging port on the bottom - not a problem. Much better than hauling around extra batteries.

Great color to match MBP13 & MPB15 Rechargeable & lighter

    • Written by Jason C from Elmwood Park

Lets address the bulk of complaints about the lightning charge port on the bottom. It Is Not An Issue! As another reviewer has said in only a few minutes of charging it will last for hours. I can confirm this. five minutes charging and it works all day and into the night. This thing is lighter and has better bottom rails than the original; it slides nicely. I have it paired with a 2017 MPB13" and a 2017 MPB15" both with the Touch-bar + Thunderbolt 3 & four USB-C port models. The MBP13" and Mouse are backpacked to work every day and I have not had much problems swapping which MBP the mouse connects to. On occasion I've had to plug it in for it to swap to my 15" from recent use with the 13", but that's done in seconds. It does seem to scroll and be more sensitive than the original and would be nice to have a control for sensitivity, but it's very minor gripe. My only real complaint is that the Space Gray is $20 more.

    Love this Mouse!

    • Written by JASON L P from Elko

I was visiting an Apple store today to help a friend pick out her new MacBook Pro, and I decided to pick up a new mouse for my MacBook Pro. I must say, I am totally thrilled with this mouse. I have no idea why all the negative reviews on here. This mouse is a wonderful upgrade! Ignore the haters and check it out for yourself! Definitely recommend!

    Gorgeous mouse!

    • Written by Pete F from Atlanta

I recently purchased the space gray magic mouse 2. My old mouse was the AA battery powered white magic mouse. I LOVE the new mouse. It's really beautiful. The click weight is better. The weight of the mouse is better (lighter). The battery lasts for a long time. No more constant battery charging.

I would have preferred if Apple kept the power light that was next to the on-switch, but that's nit-picking. Also -- WHY is it $20 more than the white one? I actually didn't realize this until after I had bought it. Having said all that, I'd highly recommend this mouse, and specifically the space gray. Oh, and one more thing... from a practical standpoint it matters very little that the lightning port is beneath the mouse. The battery lasts for very long time, and the charging is very fast.

Adjusted settings in system preferences and now is perfect. Bought adapter assuming I’ll need it for other tech later so didn’t mind. So happy it’s rechargeable! Yay! The negative reviews must be paid reviewers by the competition, or simply jealous.

    Absolutely awesome mouse!

    • Written by Adam G from Houston

I know that getting a mouse for a MacBook isn't really necessary since you have the trackpad, but I wanted to get one since my MacBook Pro sees heavy use with iMovie and it's not very easy using the trackpad to quickly drag something into the timeline or moving an audio track over just a couple inches and it assumes that you're highlighting part of it, but with this mouse, I can do those tasks like a pro. Not to mention that all the issues that the previous version of the Magic Mouse had are now fixed in this one. I have no idea what the deal is with the bad reviews about the flawed design. I do agree that the lightning port on the bottom is a bad design and that you can't use like a classic mouse, but I don't mind it considering how long the battery lasts with normal use and how fast it charges. Plus who still uses a wired mouse in 2019?

Don't trust the bad reviews, they're all because of user error.

    Great Mouse

    • Written by Patrick B from Fairfax

I too do not understand why some reviewers have trashed the mouse because it cannot be used during charging. The charge takes no time whatsoever. I have tried other wireless mice and none of them integrate as well as this one with my MacBook Pro.

    Black, buttery goodness

    • Written by David A from Midway City

This mouse is certainly not worth the price. But if you do fork over $$$, and you can afford it, this is an amazing little machine. I love the sleek design, and the click mechanism is always satisfying. The laser is very accurate, and boots up very fast. I'm also not shot in the eyeball when I start it, because the laser is "invisible." I'm sure it might cause damage if you stare for too long, but a passing glance as you turn on the device won't do harm. The scroll is nice, and the preferences allow you to make the experience your own. If you want to complain about the port on the bottom, just charge it for 10 minutes and then overnight. You'll get used to it. It's art. It doesn't care about your hole preference. Get over it.
