Hope You Like Using Cables With Your New Blutetooth Keyboard

    • Written by Ben O from Seattle

Want to use your new $150 bluetooth keyboard with more than one MacBook? You're going to have to find an adapter (their laptops support USB-C, but they send you a USB 3.1 cable) and plug the keyboard into your laptop every single time you switch between devices because it's not going to pair unless you do so.

Far too expensive to perform like a peripheral from 1999.

    Good keyboard, no problems.

    • Written by Raymond T from Yuma

I haven't had any problems with this keyboard since I purchase it. This is no gaming keyboard, it's just a simple keyboard that does its job. I wouldn't put this keyboard on your lab as it could bend in the middle, as I have noticed on some reviews I've read. Just lay it on a flat surface and you shouldn't have a problem with it bending. The only issue I have with this keyboard it that there is no light that comes on when you press the caps lock key. There is a small white dot above the letters (caps lock), but no light. I don't know if it's me or that is the way it suppose to be. I tried to read the reviews to see if someone has the same issue, but came up empty handed.

I prefer the previous keyboard over this one...

    • Written by Kyle D from Huntersville

I am not sure if the Apple Keyboard that I had prior to this one was called a Magic Keyboard or not. However, I prefer it over this one. This one needs more of an angle or an adjustment that would facilitate a higher angle. The feel of the keys are very similar to my new Space Grey MacBook Pro, which this was purchased to match. I will say that the feel of the keyboard and the one in my MacBook Pro have taken a tremendous amount of time to get used to. I use a Dell Laptop for work and then switch to my Mac for personal and grad school use. I make a tremendous amount of typos on the Apple Keyboards, especially after switching between the two products. This may be due to two things: the nearly flat surface of my MBP/Magic Keyboard's keys, and the butterfly mechanisms that are used in them. These mechanisms while very sensitive, do not allow for much travel of the key when depressed. It almost feels like typing on the screen of an iPad. I would say that if you can successfully type on the screen of your iPad with multiple fingers, this would be a great fit for you. But if you find yourself pecking it out with only a few fingers on your iPad, don't purchase this keyboard. Additionally, I do not like how this keyboard shows finger prints. It looks like I have smeared stuff all over it by the end of the day. Drives me insane! On the positive note, I do like how this one includes the numeric keypad, and I like the look of the keyboard (when it's free of fingerprints). It has an amazing battery life. I have had mine for 3 months now, and I have not even charged it yet. Amazing!

Should be Able to switch to other Apple ISO products

    • Written by Domingo M from South Elgin

Gr8 keyboard. Gave up of the multi-devices keyboards from Logitech (all of the way too ugly) & the Matius (after trying 2 of the space gray keyboards both stopped working within days). Went with this keyboard.

It's the best "feeling" of all of them when it comes to tying.

I would give it 5* if it was able to switch between my iPad Pro, iPhone X and my Late 2014 Mac mini. Hopefully, Apple will add this is a future hardware or software update.

Better than I expected. This keyboard is worth the wait!

    • Written by Jonathan M from Edmonds

I purchased my last Apple keyboard 7 years ago. I was debating on waiting for when and if Apple would release the Mac Pro mouse/keyboard/trackpad in space gray. I am very glad I waited for the Apple brand to match my Macbook Pro in space gray. The keyboard looks pretty clean and beautiful on the desk. Combined with the trackpad I have really cleaned up my desk with this setup. I have noticed that some of the F13-F19 keys were giving me trouble setting up shortcuts. I see others complain about it being too expensive... you can see the price right there. There are other cheaper keyboards on the market. I have also seen negative reviews due to the low profile and angle. I have to say that coming from the older 1st gen BT keyboard the angle is different but I honestly prefer it. The keys are perfect. Much better than the built in keyboard on the Macbook Pro. What can I say other than I love this thing. It goes perfect with the 5k LG display and other black accessories. This thing is a must have for anyone that uses their laptop on a stand with or without an external display. Oh yeah, and it came with black Apple lightening cable.

    Too expensive without back-lighting!

    • Written by Brian S from Dearborn

Looks nice, but Apple should really consider having consistency with user's experiences. I own a MacBook Pro that includes a back-lit keyboard in Space Gray...then I go to use my iMac with this Space Gray keyboard and wish it was back-lit!!! Big disappointment for me, since I use it in a low light room while editing pictures. I agree with many who have also referred to the angle of the keyboard, although that's more easily solved by just proving up the back edge with some stick-on rubber feet.

Inflated Price for The Apple Brand

    • Written by Richard A from Fort Myers

I have had this keyboard for 2 weeks. I bring the space gray keyboard home opened the package connected to my Macbook Pro 2017 without any issues. My complaints about this keyboard is not backlit and none of the great innovative features from my Macbook Pro keyboard are on this keyboard. The keyboard works great no adjustment takes getting use to.

My take on this keyboard is if you do not need a new keyboard right now I would wait or seek out cheaper alternatives.

If you are a Apple lover and want everything in our office Apple then this keyboard is for you.

Goes great with Mac Pro 6,1 & LG UltraFine 5k

    • Written by Frederick F from Glen Cove

I had the white versions of the keyboard, track pad & mouse and it has always bothered me because my setup was primarily black. The space gray keyboard (and trackpad and mouse) makes it feel like it's straight up dark side, it's awesome. Especially paired with iMac Pro wallpaper and turning on the Mac OS dark theme.

Great Keyboard at an inflated price and lacking pro features

    • Written by LEIF O from Apple Valley

Apple makes some of the best looking and most comfortable keyboards. I love the quiet keys. The build quality is excellent as expected. The keys are tighter, shallower and have less travel than the older keyboards. If you haven’t used one of the newer models I recommend you try it out before buying. Even though my work computer is a PC, I still use an Apple keyboard. Like almost everyone else I’ve been waiting for a matching keyboard to the black keyed and space gray MacBook Pro. Apple originally stated that this keyboard would be exclusive to only the iMac Pro. Unfortunately this feels like a money grab for Apple. They must have been feeling left out with these showing up on eBay for hundreds of dollars over the retail value. The space gray version has a twenty dollar premium over the white keyed version which is not unusual for Apple to do for a pro version. But I’d be happier to pay the extra for the matching color and pro features like a backlit keyboard but they didn’t include the backlight. I’d be even happier if they donated the money to a good cause like they do with product red. In the past Apple has unfortunately made all the black keys with different connectors so it’s impossible to swap the keys into a white keyboard (black keys are cheaply available online). I’m happy they’ve finally added another color but you can’t help but feel like a sucker for paying for it. Two stars off: one for the price markup for the color and one for the missing backlight.

    It's ok, but

    • Written by SCOTT L from Marietta

They keyboard needs more of an angle. It's too flat and there is no adjustment. For the price, it should be back-lit. There are cheaper alternatives (non Apple) that are back-lit.

Fantastic keyboard made better by releasing in Space Gray! If you're an Apple user (and one has to assume you are if you're reading this) this is a must have if you own a Space Gray laptop!
