Lack of colors, is not leather, and magnets are iffy

    • Written by Rob C from Atlanta

I like this case for its simplicity. It is durable and tough enough to withstand scratches etc.
However, where the colors? my 10.5" has four different Apple branded screen covers in four different colors so I can swap out based on my mood. Choices here are dull gray, pink, and dull white.

Second, not leather. Is a bit slippery in the hands and has also just slid out of a bag sitting on the edge of my bed. Luckily I have carpet in my bedroom. And since not leather, has a spongy plastic feel. I don't mind that, but leather always has a better texture and will not show smudges, etc. I have fingerprints all over the case. Facetious, yes. But at $79, I can be that way.

Third, this new attachment style is great and all but I feel is a design misstep. Because although they went and solved how you pair, store, and charge the Apple Pencil......they did it in a design locked way. No matter whether I buy the Apple Pencil 2 or not, I have to accept this new design. I don't much care for protecting the back of my iPad. I use it in the house and at work and I am not particularly clumsy. I have never dropped any of my iPads.
The problem is that the magnets on this new back design are not strong enough. There have been moments where I would tri fold the case to set it down on the table in an upright posture and the 11" thing just dropped right out of the case. I get that it shifts around because these magnets are not latching like the previous three gens, but still....

So, I guess with Angela leaving they are abandoning any fashion sense with the iPad and turning it into another one of their charcoal dull gray product lines where engineers solve problems some people didn't need solved.

    Works but pricey ...

    • Written by Derek S from Moreno Valley

This cover does the job of protecting the surface of my new iPad pro. It also helps me grip my iPad better so I don't have to over cradle it when I'm in hard floor rooms. My beef enters when I look at the cover's cost!!! The material minimally covers the surfaces BUT doesn't cover the sides. Now I'm all for the advancement of tech. My heart has beat for apple since my Mac Plus of 1986. I glowed when Apple became the 1st trillion dollar company before Microsoft. With all the accolade nose why give me a case that's so flimsy and overcharge me?

Apple ... you really make it hard to love you (sigh)

Don't see why all the hate on comfort

    • Written by Steve T from Los Angeles

I don't get the reviews saying it's uncomfortable to hold... it feels perfectly fine to me. I guess it's a millennial thing with the case somehow harshing their mellow. I just wish Apple would've offered a cheaper alternative.

Great idea but the material is lacking

I was really hoping Apple would have leather covers available. I like the idea of this smart folio and it works great but man this material is cheap and marks up like crazy. Reeeaaally hoping for leather.

covers well. and works well,,, but I wish they made it in a leather. also no apple branding. since it covers the whole iPad I wish it would have an apple logo on the back, I guess ill have to get a nice apple sticker to apply to the back. lets hope they come out with better options soon.
