    Battery Life

    • Written by Richard S from Mercer Island

When I received my Smart Battery Case I charged my Battery Case and iPhone to 100%. I then set my iPhone to never sleep. From there I swiped my main screen to the right and observed the battery box which showed the charging level for my iPhone, Smart Battery Case, and my Apple Watch. Note: if you don’t see the battery box go to the bottom of the screen and hit edit and add the battery box to the screen. The battery case discharges first and reached 0% in 18 hours and 53 minutes. The phone battery reached 11% at 32 hours and 15 minutes I stoped and placed the case and iPhone on my wireless charger. If the battery case had an on/off switch i would have given it 5 stars.

Works great and feels good, but won’t work on Belkin Qi wireless charger

    • Written by Donna W from Freeport

This is great for keeping your phone charged all day. I love the heavy feel of the phone when it is in the case.
I like that the little tab on the left side of the phone is protected by the thickness of the case as I was forever accidentally hitting it and thus not getting calls.

This battery pack will NOT work with the Belkin Boost Up Special Edition Wireless Charging Pad. Both the case and the charging base are Qi wireless, but the descriptions of both do not list what devices they are compatible with, so I took a chance and bought the base. I could not get the case to charge on the base.

The case has a lightning connector inside the case and a lightning port at the bottom of the case to take a wired lightning charging cord.
To put your phone in the case, you must bend back the top of the case and slide your phone straight down so the phone will slide onto the inside lightening connector. When all the way down, then snap the top of the case around the top of the phone. To take the case off, bend the top of the case off the top of the phone and then pull the phone straight up. Do not pull the phone off at an angle or you will bend the connector.

I found that this battery case will sit on my iHome radio unit with no problem. So now I can keep my case on and charge both the phone and the case together at the same time. Of course you can leave the case on and hook it up to a lightning cable to do the same thing or take the case off and charge each separately.

To view what the battery percentage is of the phone and the case, a double battery indicator screen pops up when you first connect to a charging device cord or when you slide the iPhone into the case. To view this again later, you must separate the case from the phone and reconnect or just leave the case on and plug in a lightning cord. The screen is only on for a brief time.

Inside the case is a small pin light. If connected to a power source, if green, the pack is fully charged (or close to 100%). It also glows amber which means not fully charged. When not on a power source, it does not light up.

Cons: I wish it had a finger loop like my old case. But with the weight of this In my hand it feels really secure.
I would recommend this to anyone. It is a good unit.

    Phenomenal addition to the phone

    • Written by Christopher R from Enfield

The phones should come with this! You get two full days worth of use. The bump in the back even makes the phone easier to handle. It appears to use the "smart charger" battery first, while also charging the main battery, and then uses the main battery. Please correct me where I'm wrong. Also, all you need is a Lightning cord. No messing around with USBs to charge separately like with so many other makes. Knocked one star down because the silicone case is a dust and dirt magnet. There should be a leather option. Does make the device slightly bulkier and heavier but worth the sacrifice, Otherwise, get this! I don't think you'll regret it.

Great extension to XS Max battery life

    • Written by William H from Findlay

I'm normally lucky if I can make it to around 6 or 7 PM before my XS Max is completely dead. With this case, I'm now able to get through my days (which consist of *a lot* of media consumption and web browsing) with no problem, sometimes even making it to the following morning before needing to charge. While I would vastly prefer leather to silicone, the material is soft to the touch and easy to grip. If Apple made these in leather (or at least in more colours than black or white), it'd be a slam dunk. It can be a little bulky and a tad hefty depending on the size of the pockets you have, but it's a more than fair tradeoff for a total of roughly 4500 mAh in battery capacity combined with the iPhone.

Love this case BUT don't buy white

    • Written by MJ J from Orillia

This case is the greatest addition to my iPhone XS Max -- especially because I don't have to charge my phone for about 2 days, the only down fall I had was purchasing the white colour, as its now turned a burnt marshmallow colour.

    It’s okay

    • Written by Frankie H from University place

I wish I had more control over how this case functions. At the very least they could add a control center or a widget so we can control whether we want the case to be on or off. Charging the phone to 100% and not letting us save the case battery for another time is kinda stupid.

    Great Case

    • Written by Vincent H from Pittsburgh

I’ve loved Apple’s Smart Battery Cases ever since they where released with the iPhone 6s. I bought one for my XS Max and it’s been working great. The only problem is the top is a little hard to fold back when trying to take the phone out and the top is already starting to peal away. Other than those two little things, it’s a great case in my opinion and worth the money.

    Awesome Case But...

    • Written by George C from FREMONT

This case fits great and has great features. Like all Apple products, the integration with the iOS is awesome. It adds almost a full day worth of charge and also does wireless charging. The big BUT is the weight and bulk. With the case, the iPhone weights just over 11.5oz from 7.34oz. I would say, that's pretty substantial!

Easy to use- iOS integration is great

    • Written by Rian F from Salt Lake City

Dinged a star because the lock button is a hole instead of a switch on the case. It's a little hard to get to. It's a single piece- the top part is flexible. you bend it back and slide the phone in from the top. The hump is weird in the pictures but feels fine in your hand. Seems to offer the same level of protection as the other silicone cases.

The iOS integration is great- when you start the charge it, it shows two battery meters side by side on the lock screen for the phone and the case. When the phone is unlocked, it shows up on the batteries widget as a separate item. Part of docking one start is that iOS doesn't change the battery indicator on the top left for this product- it just looks like my phone is charging when the case is plugged in.
