    I've needed to get 4 case replacements because each stop working after a few weeks -- apple tested and confirmed it was the case not the phone. the case stops charging the phone but retains its charge.

    Worst Apple Accessory Ever!

    Bought new in January. Has been replaced twice by Apple for failed connection. Apple Store reps say problem is widespread. Terrible design. Buy a different product.

    Worst and most expensive case ever!

    I have had this case for 6 months now. It worked really well for the first month or two and after that it consistently disconnects while charging. I have never dropped my phone with the case on either. The silicone on the case WILL peel off just from taking out of your pocket constantly. Wireless charging is a feature with this case BUT it is a poor design (or flaw). The case and phone will say it is charging then you wake up in the morning and the case never charged and the phone is almost dead. And yes I did buy my wireless charger from the Apple store so it is a wireless charger recommended by Apple themselves. If I set my phone down on a table or any surface I get an error message that says "Unlock iPhone to use accessories". I haven't bothered to take my case into apple since they will probably tell me to "kick sand/rocks". I would never consider or recommend this case to anyone specially for the price. $129!!! that's insane, and yes I'm the idiot that bought it but hey; trial and error. I just hope someone will learn from my mistake. If you desperately need a battery case I would use Mophie. I have had them in the past and never had a problem with them (they are amazing).

    Stopped Charging Within A Week

    Clearly I must have a defective item. Used it for a week - it stopped charging to 100% and then it completely stopped charing. If I put it on the wireless charger the orange light inside the cases does light but does not charge. If I plug it in, the orange indicator light does not light at all. I will exchange it, but it does not make me comfortable that the quality of the item is stellar and considering it is a battery type device it makes me wonder how else it might fail in a more dangerous manner. It seems I am not the only one reporting problems with charging the case.

    Case overheats

    Stopped holding a connection after 6 months

    I liked my previous iPhone 8 Smart Battery Case, so I was excited to get a model for my XS when it debuted. Things were fine until I started losing connection. At first it was just a source of random buzzes, but it eventually culminated in my phone shutting down. Terrible waste of money.

    Stops working in a few weeks

    I’ve had three of these cases for my iPhone XS - each one has simply stopped working. It’s such a bummer. I had the Smart Case on my last iPhone and it lasted for quite sometime. i think I got a year life out of the two I had with my iPhone 8. Now - three cases since I got my XS in February.

    Apple - what’s up with this?

    I need this case as it enables me to always be working from my phone and works great in the cold as I manage some of the top professional snowboarders in the world - so i need my phone to work at the top of the halfpipe at X Games ... and this case is the savior... if it hasn’t decided to stop working. Honestly love the case.. Apple, please just get it to work longer than a month.

    XS Max Smart Battery Case - Black

    Wow!! I have had my case for about 5 months at 3 months I started to get intermittent issues with it disconnecting. I spent 2 hours at apple with an appointment to have them tell me they couldn't find any issues. They just ran some diagnostics then looked in the port and said it looks okay. I explained that it was intermittent and didn't occur all the time. However, now it is constantly connecting disconnecting. I'm so disappointed for such an expensive battery case.

    Apple should recall this product!!!

    Here are all issues I have with this case
    1. Case charges your phone all the time, no matter if it's at 100% charge or 20% (Which leads me to question the whole 'SMART CASE' name since I thought it would actually charge my phone only when it needed charge or was under high usage)
    2. Case itself does not hold charge for more than few days. If you charge the case and leave it for few days before you go on a trip and then decide to use it, battery charge is at 0% - not sure why but you only have to charge the case just minutes or hours before you need it, definitely nothing compared to Mophie cases
    3. No turn ON or OFF option anywhere. You'd think that if it's smart you could turn it ON or OFF manually through the phone right? NOPE.

    I will not be adding 'price' to my review since all Apple products have that 'Apple tax' that they come with so if you already have an iPhone and decided to enter into 'Apple Club' you should not really complain about prices... It's a premium product that feels premium so yeah... nothing to complain about here

    Now let's talk about some positives

    1. Design is great as always, since it's made by Apple
    2. It does add a great deal of battery to your day to day iPhone usage
    3. Some have combined about it being a bit beefy, but to me it's perfect and great to hold in hand

    Not fit for market

    Was definitely excited to nab one of these when I upgraded, but burned through three in roughly a week. Each one took several hours to charge, and then wholly discharged within three to four hours regardless of device usage. Once discharged, there was a noticeable drain on the device's battery as well - the phone would go from 100% to 40% in a very short amount of time regardless of usage. When attached, the "Smart Battery" interfered with call quality as well as general connectivity not limited to wi-fi, data, or bluetooth. Case off, no problems to speak of.

    As mentioned in previous reviews, your phone will always be charging with this case so "smart" is a misnomer. Both the case and phone become uncomfortably hot when paired, and this is likely because the case itself is not actively sensing charge level and moderating itself. Moreover, there's no means of turning it off so only time will tell if using the case did harm to the phone.

    Third-party options are superior, and given the asking price there should have been more QA before this was brought to market.

    I am on my second Apple charging case. They work ok for the first month or so (even though they constantly charge and there is no on/off). After a few months they work intermittently and then eventually stop working all together. My Mophie charging cases i had for earlier iPhone models were much more dependable! Apple needs to fix these cases stat.

    Expensive, questionable and not smart

    Regarding the quality of finish and indisputable, but the durability is questionable and leaves you wishing, because with 9 days of use it began to show cracks in the flexible part of the case. The battery works very well in the first few days of use but begins to vitiate as the usage increases. On average it lasted a day, but now it is only a few hours at full load and for a long time it takes an eternity to load. As for the problem of cracking with days of use Apple is not responsible and characterized as misuse and also lets you talk. The cover leaves the cell with triple the weight and the protection offered by it and questionable broken from the view of falls. For men it even goes, but for women it's a panic because it gets heavy, thick and most of the time too hot because there are two batteries being used. It also has the fact that Apple does not provide well detailed product specifications such as amperage and such

    Didn't work for me

    Out of the box plugged case in to charge. Got green indicator after a while so it was charged. Put phone in case. Little line showed up under wifi icon and battery icon. 1/8 of line highlighted. No charging of phone happened. Plugged charge cord into case with phone in the case overnight. No charging happened, phone discharged somewhat. Returned case. Could have been a bad unit but useless for me.

    This is a dont buy !

    The concept is great, past models worked this one fails. It seems testing of the final product was bypassed !. You give this case and phone 10 hours of charging together and the case only goes to 77% ! The solution, cheaper solution, is to separate your case from the phone, and charge them seperate ? Really ?. The expensive solution, buy Apple USB-C power adapter that provides 18 or more watts of power. The case is $139 dollars with taxes included !. Called customer service, they offered to replace my case but only after I have shipped mine to them, wow !, they should learn from the smiling face. I opted to receive my money back, even though for that they would actually have to receive the product back into their warehouse. Buyers be warned..

    “Smart case”

    This might be one of apples most hyped up accessory, there is nothing smart about it. It weights about 3lbs, and I don’t like the fact that it’s not smart enough to turn off when my phone is at 100% the things just charges all day.

    Cellular Signal

    Since using the case over the last 3 days, I've had issues where people on calls have difficulty hearing me (I can hear them). I've never had this issue before using the case. It seems that the case may be interfering with the phone's cellular signal. Would love to hear if others have had this problem.

    Otherwise, the charger is good. It lasts the whole day for me. It is a bit heavy but I am ok with that.

    Didn’t last long

    This battery was great when it worked, it just stopped charging suddenly. The silicon case is rad, im still using the case even though the battery doesn’t work because it doesn’t slip out of my hand or fall between the seats in the car.

    This needs a revision

    I rode hard as heck for the previous battery pack iteration. The iPhone 7 series was the one I had. This one, however, didn't even hold up for 2 months. Purchased in January, I was getting sweet flashbacks of an all day battery life that I had with the 7. Then, slowly but surely, the case began failing. First it started with the Apple CarPlay feature in my car. Then, it did the ole "gotta do a headstand, cross all fingers and toes, pray to the gods" position for your phone to charge. The faulty piece in this series seems to be the charging port. Its awfully unreliable and if they plan to bring this to the 11 series, PLEASE spend a little more money on the connector. Thanks!

    Case stops charging at 77%

    I've been using this case for 1 week and the only issue I have is that the case stops charging at 77%. I've used both the lightning cable and wireless charging but get the same result every time.
