    Made with cheaper material than first generation

    Had no problems with my first generation Apple Pencil and I've had it for 3 years. The 2nd generation cracked within days of getting it. It stayed in my messenger bag all day, and when I take it out, I notice a crack toward the middle of the pencil, from most probably placing my bag down too hard. It works great, don't get me wrong, but the material is cheap compared to the first generation and they want to uncharge it.. just wrong.

    Magnetic attachment was a very bad idea.

    The pencil attaches right where I want to grab my iPad and it always comes loose. The magnets need to be stronger. No other way to charge the pencil so it severely limits case choices. A big disappointment compared to previous generation.

    Lazy design

    Pencil is cheaply made and the magnetic feature is not strong or stable! It is hard to hold and fits weird in my hand! I am a lefty and the tapping feature is hard to use when your finger is not just the right length! The extra tips are expensive too! It also doesn’t work like a stylus when tapping the screen with it! It is just so uncomfortable and finding cases that protect your iPad screen and edges and support the pencil is a nightmare! Oh and a big deal for me was writing to text! Not supported! It is a lot of money to spend not to be useful! Please Apple fix these issues! I hope the next software update Will fix some of these problems!

    Very bad for writing / taking notes

    The new design looks nicer and the wireless charging is a step in the right direction, but the actual experience during everyday use is terrible.

    The reason is that the surface finish is matte/brushed. This results in a surface that slids from your fingers while writing, making it uncomfortable to write with. That, together with the slightly reduced diameter makes is difficult to keep in place between your fingers.

    What I did with mine is wrap a few loops of tape around the pen in order to be able to write comfortably. It's ugly, but it barely affects the magnets or charging.

    It's a pity that this is the only option we have to write on the otherwise fantastic 2018 iPad Pro.

    Stops Working After A Week

    This is the second Apple Pencil 2nd gen that I have bought. The first one stopped working after about a week of use so I thought it was a lemon and exchanged it. After having the second one for just a week, I awoke to find this one no longer works either. The pencil is fully charged and connected according to my new iPad Pro 11” that I bought the pencil to go with. When I try to write or draw there is just nothing. I am utterly and deeply disappointed and considering taking it all back. The whole point was to have a mobile studio for my art. Guess I need to take the pencil back today.

    Out of the box does not connect to iPad Pro. Spent two hours between chat and phone sessions with a support "specialist" (haha this is someone reading off a list of remedial questions). Much is being written about Apple's slowing sales. For me, the quality of their products has greatly diminished. The reviews of many of their products tells the story,

    Stopped working after a month

    I have been using my pencil for about a month with no issues. It holds a charge phenomenally, pairing is simple, the magnet holding to the iPad is strong. No issues...until today when in the midst of using it, it stops working. It’s paired. It’s charged. It just won’t work. I’ve tried unpairing and pairing again to no avail. With the original pencil, sometimes i would have to unscrew the nib and put it back on again. Nope didn’t work. Tried a new nib. Nope, nothing. So now I have a useless $129 stick with my name engraved.

    At this point, anyone who buys an Apple product is a fool, including myself. For this reason, I am selling my iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro 3rd Gen which is almost brand new, Apple Watch 4th gen which is almost brand new as well, and my MacBook Pro. After years of questionable product and iOS releases, this stupid pencil is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. Apple, your products are trash and I’m done. Google here I come.

    Utterly Disappointed

    While I love the new design, I never had the issue with the old one that I am having with the new one. It worked splendidly for about a month, then just out of the blue, drops connection as soon as I remove it from the dock. I have literally done everything that I can to get it to work, from reinstalling the IPAD software to forgetting and reconnecting the pencil. I am extremely disappointed in Apple. As a teacher, I have always sworn by Apple and in particular the IPAD. I have owned an IPad since their initial release, and each iteration, the quality becomes less and less. The Pencil, to me, is what set the IPad pro apart from it's competition.
    Maybe there is something to this decline in Apple sales after all.

    Lost immediately

    While I liked the new functionality of the pencil and was excited to have it attach magnetically, it didn’t stay attached when I carried my iPad in my brand new case (also purchased from apple). I owned this pencil a day and am now am buying another one, with an aftermarket case to keep from losing the pencil. I use my iPad exclusively for note taking at work...2 weeks of lost productivity and paper notepads I can’t search or organize. Great idea, but make a case that secures the pencil, or don’t make it seem the pencil is secure when attached.

    Apple pencil

    My $120 ApplebPencil quit working after 1 1/2nhoursnof use over 2 weeks.

    Now it won’t charge and I can’t find it to repair. There was a time when paying PREMIUM prices was related to RELIABILITY.

    How much time of SUBSTANDARD products has to pass before its called being FLEECED.

    First Impressions Not Great

    Couldn’t get the pencil to pair with my iPad in spite of the best efforts of the remote Apple Support team. Back to the Apple Store to replace it. Hopefully second time lucky. This is my first experience of a dud Apple product in maybe 18 years, but frustrating nonetheless.

    Easily lost

    For the price of it its very easy to lose. There's no find my pencil (like earbuds) and the magnetness isn't that great it easily gets knocked off when tucking into the back of an airline seat.

    There's very few cases for the new ipad pros around that cater for the pencil.

    Don’t buy this item!

    Got home took it out of the box and connected it but no matter what i do it won’t work. Says it’s connected and everything, tried every possible thing to make it work but still nothing, definitely not worth $129. Save your money!

    Easy To Losd

    It's cheap, fragile, and you can lose it quickly. It's an expensive product that wasn't designed with a place for your pencil. Most cases aren't even built for the 2nd generation pencil to sync/charge-up with the Ipad. The cases for the pencil are also flimsy & also increases the chances of losing your pencil.

    Not worth it

    Bought this acceaory for my iPad 6th generation.
    Totally useless unless you use it to scketch and draw on the iPad. Otherwise too expensive and you won’t know what to use it for.
