    I will preface this by saying my opinion may change once I can get some questions answered!
    My first impression is that I love the Apple Pencil 2, easy to pair, goes into low power mode when not in use. It is the best stylus I have ever used for creating artwork digitally (I actually like it more than my Wacom tablet!). I do have some questions I need to get answered before I can give it the 5 stars I want to give it. Can this device be be charged any other way besides sticking it to the iPad? OR has anyone made an iPad case/cover that will actually protect the edges, the most vulnerable part of the iPad while allowing for the Pencil to charge? The Apple Smart Folio seems to expose the edges of the iPad which is great for charging the pencil, but one accidental drop and I fear that the lovely screen will crack. I would really prefer a TPR back cover case that protects the edges but would have a section that would allow for the pencil to charge. I certainly do not want a case that has to be removed to charge the pencil. The only other change I would have liked is to have the pencil flat on 6 sides like a typical pencil.

    Excellent pencil

    I picked this up today it works great and it is very cool that you can stick to the side of the tablet when not in use and that also charges it . Great job apple ,both this and the keyboard are awesome.

    Utterly Disappointed

    While I love the new design, I never had the issue with the old one that I am having with the new one. It worked splendidly for about a month, then just out of the blue, drops connection as soon as I remove it from the dock. I have literally done everything that I can to get it to work, from reinstalling the IPAD software to forgetting and reconnecting the pencil. I am extremely disappointed in Apple. As a teacher, I have always sworn by Apple and in particular the IPAD. I have owned an IPad since their initial release, and each iteration, the quality becomes less and less. The Pencil, to me, is what set the IPad pro apart from it's competition.
    Maybe there is something to this decline in Apple sales after all.

    Made with cheaper material than first generation

    Had no problems with my first generation Apple Pencil and I've had it for 3 years. The 2nd generation cracked within days of getting it. It stayed in my messenger bag all day, and when I take it out, I notice a crack toward the middle of the pencil, from most probably placing my bag down too hard. It works great, don't get me wrong, but the material is cheap compared to the first generation and they want to uncharge it.. just wrong.

    Too fragile for $129

    Fell from 3 feet onto floor and sheared the nib off damaging the threads it screwed into. After removing remnants and replacing the nib, the pencil would charge and connect but not work. Add $10 or $20 and make it out of aluminum or something...or was it being so fragile and irreparable the plan to begin with?

    2nd pencil

    First pencil worked as a charm , then after three weeks it stopped charging , tried everything to make it charge but to no avail. Watched it trickle down to 0% . Replaced it threw the retailer for a new pencil , now after one week I have the same issue !!! Really !!!
    Apple for sure is getting cheaper and cheaper but charging premium prices !!
    Time to get the third pencil I think and debating of moving away from Apple products , I don’t mind paying premium prices for reliable products but not for something unreliable like that !

    Beware the Tip of This Stylus

    I fell in love with this stylus (my first) when I got my new iPad Pro. Couldn’t believe how well it performed. Then, after a few weeks, it died. Called support which couldn't help with any trouble shooting I hadn’t already thought of and told me to take it to the store. Kept the stylus attached to the iPad while I continued to use the iPad with my fingers and, several days later, saw that the tip of the stylus was Gone! Days after that I found a funny little part in my house and suddenly put two and two together. It was the tip of the stylus which had fallen off. Reattached it and screwed it tightly. Voila! Performance again. Never had to take it to the store. It seems that the action of repeated use loosens the tip of the stylus which then won’t work. So, keep it screwed tight. Not as advertised by Apple as a one piece seamless product, so Beware.

    Out of the box does not connect to iPad Pro. Spent two hours between chat and phone sessions with a support "specialist" (haha this is someone reading off a list of remedial questions). Much is being written about Apple's slowing sales. For me, the quality of their products has greatly diminished. The reviews of many of their products tells the story,

    Not worth the money

    Magnet definitely not strong enough. Pencil fell off within first week of owning it and there is no way to track it. Extremely disappointed! Way too expensive to be able to lose so easily with no tracking!

    The new Apple Pencil is quite nice, but the matte finish is difficult to grip securely. Also, it no longer comes with a spare tip and a pack of 4 for $19 seems excessive.

    Can’t get to Home

    I love everything about the Apple Pencil 2. I love the way it writes, the magnetic storage, and the way it charges and pair. But I can not get over the fact that you can’t use the pencil to get to the home position. It is so awkward using the pencil then having to use your finger instead of the pencil to get to the home position. This really annoys me! Hopefully this can be fixed with a software upgrade.

    Stops Working After A Week

    This is the second Apple Pencil 2nd gen that I have bought. The first one stopped working after about a week of use so I thought it was a lemon and exchanged it. After having the second one for just a week, I awoke to find this one no longer works either. The pencil is fully charged and connected according to my new iPad Pro 11” that I bought the pencil to go with. When I try to write or draw there is just nothing. I am utterly and deeply disappointed and considering taking it all back. The whole point was to have a mobile studio for my art. Guess I need to take the pencil back today.

    Stopped working after a month

    I have been using my pencil for about a month with no issues. It holds a charge phenomenally, pairing is simple, the magnet holding to the iPad is strong. No issues...until today when in the midst of using it, it stops working. It’s paired. It’s charged. It just won’t work. I’ve tried unpairing and pairing again to no avail. With the original pencil, sometimes i would have to unscrew the nib and put it back on again. Nope didn’t work. Tried a new nib. Nope, nothing. So now I have a useless $129 stick with my name engraved.

    At this point, anyone who buys an Apple product is a fool, including myself. For this reason, I am selling my iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro 3rd Gen which is almost brand new, Apple Watch 4th gen which is almost brand new as well, and my MacBook Pro. After years of questionable product and iOS releases, this stupid pencil is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. Apple, your products are trash and I’m done. Google here I come.

    Ugh. So frustrating

    Love the feel. But that’s it. Falls off the magnet with light touch. Tip unrecognizable and now doesn’t works. Sooo not an apple thing to do. Fix it. Might as well come with extra tips if you’re going to compromise on quality.

    iPad Pro Pencil discharges with Apple keyboard cover closed

    The pencil will discharge to 0% with apple keyboard cover closed. The pencil will not be at 100% along with iPad Pro even when connected to external charger. Apple only recommended keeping cover open to maintain pencil charge. Evidently the keyboard causes problem and no fix is on the horizon. Pencil maintains full charge with the keyboard cover open. Returned iPad Pro, pencil and keyboard.

    Magnetic attachment was a very bad idea.

    The pencil attaches right where I want to grab my iPad and it always comes loose. The magnets need to be stronger. No other way to charge the pencil so it severely limits case choices. A big disappointment compared to previous generation.

    I liked it at first, but just seemed to be a skinny stylus. I dropped it once and the tip flattened as a result- causing it to no longer work at all. I’ve only had it for about 10 days now. Wasn’t what I expected.
