Worst device apple has ever designed.

This is a first for me, being disappointed about an apple product but let me say, this is probably the worst experience I've ever had with something they have created. Let me start with the major points, (1) if you want to hold it like a tablet (keyboard folded back) you will have to hold it with your hand resting on the keys facing outward, (2) opening the case with a pencil attached at the same time is quite difficult without knocking the pencil off, and (3) there is no longer any microfiber cleaning/protecting your screen while the screen is closed. You might say, "Well these are normal concerns and you just have to adapt to using it better!". Apple has been known for creating a seamless user experience through the marriage of both hardware and software design, and the idea of having to adapt to a device couldn't be more foreign. The material feels cheap for something of this supposed quality and there was no thought given to different use scenarios. If all you need is a well functioning keyboard and will always use your iPad in a laptop orientation, then this is the product for you! The only reason I might keep this is due to lack of options and to wait for something better to come on the market...what a shame.

Not worth $200 on any planet. Wait for Logitech or Brydge or other keyboard

Got it because it's the current Day-1 "only" option. It WILL be going back.

It was my fault for not reading that it does not have a backlit keyboard. Which begs the question. WHAT? WHY? If not, why so expensive?

A lesson I already knew. Buy the main Apple products, but get the accessories somewhere else.

    What a disappointment!

I was very excited to see that Apple had redesigned this product. None of my previous 3 Apple iPad Keyboards made it through their first year with disconnection problems. I opened this one to find the finish felt like a very cheap plastic. There were bubbles all over the finish and it was discolored in several spots. When I called Apple support, they said they couldn't send me a new one until this one was returned to their warehouse. I can't even order a replacement because they are now several weeks out on backorder. I'm not left with no way to protect my even more expensive than the last model iPad Pro. What has happened to you, Apple?
