About what you’d expect at this price point...

    • Written by Darren J

Best to disregard the majority of 1-star and 5-star reviews — these earbuds are nowhere near either extreme. Noticed far too many overly-subjective reviews from haters and fanboys alike, and figured I’d try to provide a little more context and feedback. It’s surprising how seeing a product with 4 or 5 stars from 50+ reviewers somehow reassures me; because once I actually read the individual reviews I remember how unreliable (most) people are. COMPARED TO THOSE (white) EARBUDS THAT CAME WITH YOUR PHONE: these are a solid step up in sound and build quality. ***sound: 5/10 • style: 7/10 • build quality: 5/10*** Please don’t interpret 5/10 as low quality, it’s definitely not!! (for comparison, here’s how I’d rate those stock “iBuds”... sound:3/10 • style:5/10 • build quality:4/10). Once you determine the best fitting attachment for these (deep, loud bass only happens when the earbud is snug and creates a sort of seal in your ear), they can deliver richer and clearer music than your stock earbuds. But the reality is you can only get so much at this price point — considering the additional costs of the included accessories and Beats’ massive advertising campaign. You’d likely need to step up to around $125+ for audio quality in the 6-7 range and upwards of $175 for anything above an 8. And if you’re streaming music listening to 128kbps audio files straight off of your phone, these earbuds are solid and anything beyond $175 is — for 99% of us — is overkill. Hope this helps!

    No bass

Seriously like zero bass at all and the cable is too stiff. It pulls the earphones out constantly. Going back to Wally today.

    New Pair EVERY year.

They're great but something always goes wrong every pair I get. They're only *perfect* for about 10-12 months until something goes wrong. I've had several problems: first pair (red and black) had a weird bendy piece that goes into the phone so it eventually wore out and the wires were beginning to expose so music eventually didn't want to play through them. My next pair (white and gold) are pretty odd. They're the only pair that send shocks into my ear from time to time and the plug in was fine until music kept stopping...my solution was to pinch or angle the cord to continue to play music. My next pair (black and silver) lasted the shortest when I ended up losing sound from one earbud entirely. Today, i use the white and gold pair because they magically started working again ??? hopefully my other 2 will eventually too lol.

These headphones are on of the greatest....

...failures to date. I mean sure, they fit snugly, they are well designed and come with an ample amount of accessories, and the quality of the case is nice. But, the sound quality, is not too great, the bass feels a little sub par, the high-end sounds are a little too tinny. The driver is incapable of handling both ends of sounds at the same time and that is very disappointing. :(
