    Disapointing

    I've been using this for 30 days which means it's unfortunately too late to return it.

    The app tracks my sleep but definitely records me as being asleep during times which I'm awake. It also misses a lot of my snoring according to my wife.

    Often times I have to force quit the app to get my AirPods to connect. Then restart it. I call this the Beddit dance.

    Sometimes it crashes over night and then it gives me a snarky message that I need to not quit the app in order to record my sleep.

    Works wel, not very integrated in apple ecosystem

    Bought two right after the 3.5 was released and it works very well. We both have iphone6s and a Apple Watch (series 2 and series 4)


    Having a occupancy and sleep sensor on apple devices should really allow for HomeKit integration and I do not really understand why it is not there.
    It would be really nice if there would be some sort of integration like getting the status in the shortcuts app and trigger scenes “in bed” and “asleep”.

    Since apple owns Beddit I would expect that the dev team is told to support the entire Apple eco system.

    At the moment I have an esp8266 with piëzo weight sensors under the feet of the bed, and home brew HomeKit integration, this does give occupancy but not sleep.

    Terrible Now - But It Used To Work

    NO LONGER WORKS THANKS TO TERRIBLE APP UPDATE.

    I have one of the older models and it used to work with a high level of accuracy.

    I stopped using it for 18 months and decided to get back into it. So I updated to the latest version of the app before using it again.

    Now it's terrible and needs to be thrown in the bin.

    Example: I tossed and turned for 2 hours before sleeping and it said I took 4 minutes to fall asleep. The device and data are now compromised so it's completely worthless! SO UNHAPPY.

    Disappointed

    Never have I been disappointed in an Apple product until now. Beddit 3.5 isn't where it it's at. It fails to live up to Apple's intuitive features. You have to actually open the app every night before you lie down to get it to record your sleep--who is going to honestly remember to do that? Not happy with it. This is my first bad review for ANYTHING Apple.

    Back Pain when used with Memory Foam Bed

    This is my first sensor like this and unfortunately I am having to give it away since I causes severe back pain when used with a Memory Foam bed. The data from the sensor is good and I reall was hoping to make this work out so when the back pain first stated I tried to blame it on other things and tried moving the sensor up farther towards my shoulders but that didn't fix the issue. I took the sensor off the bed until the back ache went away. After a week without any back pain I tried the sensor again and the pain returned. I tried removing the cover and just using the sensor which is much thinner but that also still caused pain. My Memory foam bed is an older model and I sink into the foam when it warms up at night. The sensor is kind of like having a piece of rope under you that is holding you up instead of letting you sink into the foam. This pressure is more than my back is willing to take. For people with a regular bed or perhaps a less sensitive back the sensor may be fine.

    Wanted to like. 1 month in very dissapointed

    After Apple purchased Beddit I was excited to see what they would do with the technology. Fast forward to the updated release of this sleep monitor it appears Apple has made the sleep monitor worse. The only thing this device gets right is it logs when you get in bed for the night. Everything else is wildly inconsistent: time to fall asleep, time asleep, time out of bed. Whats the point in actually logging these metrics if they're not recorded correctly? Seriously debating returning this. Die hard Apple fan but this is a pathetic product.

    Inaccurate, no useful information

    My cat took a nap on our bed, and Beddit thought I slept from 5pm, with my usual heart rate. I read, toss & turn, but Beddit thinks I'm in a coma within minutes. No way to edit errors the app makes, no way to make notes (food, drink, exercise etc). Just about any .99 app will provide more sleep info than this thing.

    Bad quality - don’t buy

    Bought one in December and had the exchange it because the sensor isn’t flat and has wrinkles that press into your back. Exchange took 3 weeks, that’s way too long. Replacement has same problem so trying to exchange it again. Now Apple is saying wrinkles are normal and expected and sensor isn’t supposed to be flat and smooth. Sounds like BS and they just are pushing customer to accept units with production problems.

    Missing key features

    I wanted to love this product, but it is missing key features. It actually has fewer features than the Beddit 3.0.

    1) No indication of light vs deep sleep
    2) No smart alarm to wake you up at the best time (during the lightest sleep)
    3) It counts naps towards your nightly sleep.. for example if you take a nap at 7pm it considers that the time you went to sleep for the night, even if you get back up for hours.

    The snoring detection using the iPhone microphone is a minor inconvenience, because you can't use things like "Hey, Siri".

    Unfortunately this will be my first return to Apple.

    Surprisingly Useless from Apple

    The device offers little more than a pencil and paper would provide in tracking sleep, and fails to distinguish between awake-and-in-bed and asleep. Products such as Beddr and Sleepon are light years ahead of this product and cheaper. Very surprising coming from Apple (albeit an acquired product.) Returning.

    Data but little information

    I’ve used the device for two weeks and nighty results vary considerably. I’ll assume the accuracy of the sensor, but there is no way to evaluate the data collected. Showing only heartbeat and breathing is not sufficient to determine duration of light, deep or REM sleep cycles. Compared to the FitBit info screen, this is pretty minimal. And their Tips are not much help, you’ll do better researching on line. I’ll look forward to upgrades.

    Good sleep monitor that will hoepfully get better with further app updates

    I’ve been tracking my sleep with the Apple Watch and Autosleep for some time, but was looking for an alternative so I don’t have to sleep with the watch on. The Beddit 3.5 hardware seems excellent is is really inobtrusive. For the first few nights I slept with both the Apple Watch (4) and Beddit running and I could compare the results, which were quite similar. Most importantly, looking at the raw data in Apple Health, Apple Watch and Beddit tracked exactly the same heartrate (max difference was 1 beat) at the same time so the Beddit seems to be very reliable for HR measurements. There are some caveats of course. I was a bit disappointed at first to learn that the snoring detection used the iPhone’s microphones to detect snoring, but as you need your phone next to the Beddit anyway, it isn’t a major issue. However, when I fall asleep with headphones, I’m not sure what mic the app is using and how that affects the results. The app seems to have been rebuilt for this hardware revision, and is quite basic but should be able to improve in future. Given all the metrics there is certainly more analysis that could be done. I was also surprised that there was no information based on movement during sleep, which the hardware should surely be able to track very well. Just like other sleep trackers (on e.g. Apple Watch) Beddit can’t really tell if you’re sleeping or lying restlessly awake, or watching television in your bed. There’s probably room for improvement here, but people who lie awake during the night probably won’t get an accurate picture of their sleep through this solution. Another drawback compared to Apple Watch sleep tracking is that any naps away from the bed will not be captured and added to your sleep “account”. The accompanying Beddit Apple Watch app could be used to captured these naps, but at the moment it seems to do nothing. Again something that could be improved over time.

    I love this device!

    I have tried a number of sleep monitors over the years and this is by far the best. It appears to me far more insightful about periods of wakefulness and sleep. This is displayed in beautiful infographics each morning explaining when I woke in the night, my heart rate, humidity and temperature of the room, and so much more. I had waited after Apple bought the company to see if they would continue to make new beddit monitors, and once they released the 3.5 device I placed an order.

    Also, one small concern i had was whether the device would “stick” or wander under the sheet but it stays put. I am a fairly active sleeper too.

    If your sleep cycle feels opaque and you are looking for some insight the beddit is the way to go in my opinion. The device only has one “utility”, true, but it really does do it well.

    Wanted to love, but dissapointed with features and accuracy

    I was excited for this product but unfortunately I cannot recommend it at all. Firstly, this new version of the device has removed many features including the information on what kind if sleep you are getting throughout the night (light seleep, deep sleep, restless sleep), the smart alarm and the overall sleep score. Pretty much the only information it gives you is time sleeping and time awake in a small graph with almost no detail (i.e. what times you were up).

    Secondly it's just wildly innacurate. It seems to think if you are lying still you are asleep. I was up for a period of two hours in the middle of the night trying to get back to sleep, including spending a half hour reading a kindle, but to my surprise the next morning the app showed I was "asleep" the whole night having only been awake for 14 minutes. Sadly I'll be returning this item.

    Awesome investment for sleep indicator

    I've been using this version, and the one before it, for years now. I don't always follow it's advice and honestly somedays knowing that I'm monitoring my sleep actually stresses me out if I wake up while turning over. That being said, this is an awesome investment for a simple reason:
    You can, in seconds, find out if lack of sleep is negatively affecting your life. I use the app as kind of a yard stick, if it's been a few days with bad scores I'll do what I have to do to get some 7 - 8 hour nights in.
    Though, I do feel like adding sleep time is the best way to increase the score, which basically makes sense.

    I love the smart alarm but be careful! You need to make sure the volume is up on the alarm screen of the app otherwise it may not wake you up!!
