Pretty great - Worth looking into

    • Written by Jissan H from Los Angeles

I am not sure what some of the negative reviews are even talking about. I am guessing they are either trolling or have defective units, These sound so much richer than the AirPods. I understand some brands may sound better, but the connectivity and flexibility of these are what's important to me. They are great for productivity, phone calls, running, working out etc. I will say i have exchanged my first pair due to thinking there was an issue with the battery connection and am glad i did as I realized the buttons on the side of the original were way too sensitive after i got my replacement. They are now pretty dang ideal. Sound is great and while i will admit you may need to increase volume to 75% in some environments they definitely don't lack treble or bass. I have a feeling some people aren't wearing them as secure as you should. I would opt for these over AirPods any day as those fall out of my ears even walking. Price is a bit high but i think if you don't have airpods already they are worth the test drive.

    Horrible Sound Quality

    • Written by Vladimir U from Wheeling

I hoped this, PowerBeats Pro Total Wireless, pair would replace my OK sounding AirPods (original generation) and was eager to receive the new Beats pair. however, once I connected the new earphones to my iPhone Xs Max, I was stricken by the tinny sounds the set produced. It lacked bass, mid and treble ranges; the appears that the sound comes from afar. it is hard to believe this was a Beats by Dre earphones. The only good things of this earphones were how well it affixes over an ear and ease of connectivity. The set was returned to Apple.

Low Volume - Sound Just ok

    • Written by Rich M from Minneola

I really wanted to like these, I am not blown away by the sound and the volume is too low. I purchased them to replace my earbuds and expected a jump in audio quality and volume. I had expected to use them while playing the drums, I can barely hear my drums which was good but the volume is way too low to hear the music. Even tough in quiet environments, I am constantly trying to turn them up. I would return them if I was in the return period, regret this purchase!

    Perfect for Peloton

    • Written by Tyler P from Smethport

I was really hesitant to spend this much for headphones with so many well rated and lower cost options available but Apple rarely disappoints me so I rolled the dice. I have not been disappointed! I bought them specifically for Peloton workouts but I find myself reaching for them at work and while driving. They pair themselves, true wireless is amazing, and there is no lag. The sound is very good, Would I like to be able to pump up the bass a bit more for certain songs? Sure but I find the bass does kick in nicely when I expect it to and these are nowhere even close to being tinny. Reviewers saying these are tinny definitely haven't found the right fit and need to change their earbud sizes.

    THE BEST!!!!

    • Written by Ervin D from Orlando

The best in-ear earbud headphones ever. Especially for working out. Regular ear buds will not work for me at the gym. I need the over the ear hook to prevent from falling off. I was using Powerbeats Wireless 2 for 2.5 years. Those were still working great too. But sound quality on the new Powerbeats Pro were up to par. Battery quality and all the new features were more than exceptional. I couldn’t be anymore happy. These deserve 5 stars across the board. The fitment is much better than my Powerbeats Wireless 2. Once you put on the Pro’s, you will never have to keep adjusting them in your ear. They stay put. They are definitely noise cancelling. I have the volume at medium high. The bass is perfect. No issues. Very lightweight on the ear. Highly recommend these. Please rate at 5 stars.

Epic music quality fail by Apple/Beats

    • Written by Michael L from Boulder

Airpods do not really stay in my ears when working out. I use the Bose Soundsport Frees for workouts and runs. I was hoping that the Powerbeats Pros would have equivalent sound, better connection, use of either earpod for phone calls and a better looking aesthetic. Unfortunately, never got through the horrible sound quality. The previous reviewer who described the sound as tinny and others that have said that the treble is painful are spot on. I tried all of the different sized ear buds. Tried many different iphone equalizer settings. But the music sound is just awful compared to the Bose. All I can think of is that they were designing the music profile for people that have damaged hearing and lack the ability to hear high frequencies . Returning these. Will try the Jabras or stick with the Bose.

Without any doubt they are best for sports

    • Written by Sandeep J from Lansing

Fits perfectly around ears, Sound quality is good or may just like aripods but provides better isolation. I observed one thing between my Ipad pro 11 and Iphone x that powerbeats pro wont get louder on iphone x as they do with my ipad pro and pixel 3. May be my iphone x is faulty.
They connects very quickly with any device. I don't have to wait more than a second to switch between ipad and pixel.

    Worth the money!

    • Written by John G from Clearwater

Totally comfortable. Incredible clear sound with no distortion and well balanced. Clear phone calls, pairing is simple and Siri is great when needed. Tried the Jabra Elite 65T and returned after a week as they were uncomfortable especially when changing the volume, because you ended up pushing the piece further in your ear. The placement of the volume rocker is perfect. Incredible job on these! I wouldn't change a thing.

    Great Sound with Little Annoyances

    • Written by Chris K from Los Angeles

    Pros
    1. Great sound, similar to the previous Powerbeats 2 but crisper and cleaner bass..
    2. The H1 chip is great and having the Hey Siri Feature is a bonus on Beats products.

    Cons
    1. If you loose the case you can't repair your Beats to your phone,
    2. There is often a delay in auto playback when putting them back in your ear.
    3. You can't repair these Beats to your device if you lose Bluetooth connection with the case is at home.
    4. If you're in a loud coffee shop or restaurant good luck taking a phone call. They pick up so much ambient noise.
    5. Apple doesn't offer a replacement case and it's not wireless chargeable.
    5. For $250 I feel like these cons are a deal breaker, but too late for me.

Great, but so far, a fatal flaw

    • Written by John B from Delmar

I'm a big Apple fan - iPad pro, mac pro, iPhone xs, apple watch 4, home pods x 2, etc...you get it. The Powerbeats pro sound very good, and seem comfortable and stay attached. BUT, constant drops. Sometimes drops require full reset at the case and the connection back to devices. Other times, just cuts out and I have to go to bluetooth settings to re-connect. I do not experience this with my old air pods. It''s Infuriating. Also, take one out of ear, it keeps playing even though out of ear. Thought they were supposed to work one at time, like my air pods? Battery died while not wearing because of this. Tried to return and exchange for new pair, but no one, including Apple store, has any in stock... I really hope that I just got a bad set.

After spending this kind of money, I expect them to work, and not to have to wait to get a replacement if they don't. Apple store said I could leave them at the store to be "repaired." No interest, again, in dropping that kind of money and then going with nothing - flaws and all.

    Poor Noise Isolation

    • Written by Jamie N from San Francisco

I really wanted to love these headphones, They're comfortable, fit securely and totally stylish.

Unfortunately, while they sound great, they don't sit inside the ear canal properly and fail to seal out any outside noise. If you're sitting in a quiet office, or in a library, that's great, but if you're walking down a city street, the only way to actually hear anything is to blast the volume really high and trashing your hearing. Even then, it's really easily overwhelmed by passing traffic or an open shop door with music inside. Don't even think of trying to hear anything if you're on public transit. None of the provided ear-tips make any different and I even got some aftermarket squishy foam one's too.

To be fair, when you are in a place where you can hear them, they sound fantastic. They sit over your ears securely and won't fall off no matter what you do, and again, are pretty darn stylish. I only wish that Apple would have invested more time on the in-ear fitting and would add in some of the active noise cancelling they have in their over the ear cans. I'd happily pay a bit more and give up a bit of battery life for those features.

    Great wireless headphones

    • Written by Austin M from Fort Gibson

I have been looking for the perfect wireless headphones and these are them. I tried the jabra elites which had a great app and good sound quality but I had the fear of them falling out. I tried the 2nd gen AirPods and was disappointed that there was no design change, they also lacked the sound quality of the jabras and was worried again about them falling out. Thankful the new power beats pro were released and they have the best of both words. Great sound quality easy pairing with all my Apple devices and with the design I am not worried about them falling out. I do wish they had a way to adjust the sounds like the jabra elites but it’s not a big deal. I would highly recommend these headphones.

    AMAZING!!!

    • Written by Nathan V from San Jose

I have been looking for headphones for about 3 years that really stand out to me for the rest. I had airpods but they don’t flush out the ambient sound. These beats do flush out the ambient sound. on top of that, they sound AMAZING! They are way better sounding then the powerbeats 3 and sound the same as airpods but with a little more bass. Best part? I can hear the music without all the noise. they aren’t noise cancelling but they do a great job on flushing out the noise. Definitely will recommend to any athletes or any casual listeners. Tip: make sure to clean your ears so that u can hear what these have to offer.

    Crazy good quality!

    • Written by Raffaele F from Rexburg

I just got these amazing headphones. They work exactly like the AirPods but: they have a better sound quality, better battery time, a better grip and (for me) a better look.
I need to say that the battery life is better than the AirPods but it’s not 9 hours as claimed. And if need to compare them to the AirPods, I want to say that the AirPods are easier to wear and take off.

    I really like them, though.

    Wouldn't Recommend - See Reasons

    • Written by Tony P from Hulbert

Powerbeats Pro - Neg Review: 1. if you work out in a Gym (receiving a call, caller hears everything in the gym). 2. Planning on using them for working and stuff like that (caller will hear everything. 3. Case is very large. 4. $249. not worth the cost. Positive Review: 1. The headphones sound awesome 2. Fit comfortable on the ear and you wouldn't need to worry about them falling out. 3. Auto connects to all your apple devices. If your wanting something for the gym, work or just in a busy area and you don't want the caller to hear everything I would recommend buying something else. Called Customer Service and that wasn't much help, they just wanted to return them and give me my money back which was good but also bad at the same time!

    Good, But Not Great

    • Written by Hugo S from Tempe

I purchased the Powerbeats Pro to replace my AirPods at the gym. The AirPods are still my go-to from 9-5, but this product is a pretty good upgrade in sound and fit if you have the cash. Although I consider myself a bit of an audiophile, I haven’t been too disappointed with the sound - functionality trumps sound quality when you’re moving.

Downside for me: they manage to stay in my ears just fine, but I’ve had issues getting the left one to stay in its charging port. I wasn’t too pleased to learn this lesson once I made it to the gym - working out with only one bud sucked. I then carefully placed the buds in the charging case after the gym, yet I have the same issue today (I’m writing this review while the left bud charges). One would think that the buds shut off, but it seems that they stay on and drain the battery when they’re not making contact with the charging port. It’s a very frustrating flaw to find at this price-point, but I won’t rate them too harshly in hopes that I can figure out the issue. Overall, I’m happy [with a short sigh and shoulder shrug].

    Had to Return

    • Written by Larry L from NASHVILLE

After waiting a month to receive them they worked less than a week. They either won’t stay connected to any device or when they do stay connected there is no sound. And my initial dealings with customer service about the issue has me rethinking my entire relationship with Apple. I’m starting to have more and more issues with Apple products that aren’t even a year old. Very disappointing.

    I think they're great!!!!

    • Written by Edmond D from Farmington Hills

Sound is one of those things that is so subjective that its difficult to make a judgement solely on what others think. In my opinion the Powerbeat's sound great. You really do have to experiment with the inserts to find the right size for your ears. It makes a big difference. Nitpicks I've read like they're to hard to put on blah, blah are just as I stated, nitpicks. My one nitpick though is the size and slipperiness of the case. I've almost dropped my case several times due to how slippery it is and I finally did. I basically use mine at the gym so I don't carry them around and can get around the size issue.

Due to availability issues not everyone can just go try them out right now but if you don't have a problem with the price I would say its worth your while to give them a shot. I've purchased other earbuds for working out (Bose, Jabra) and so far these are by far offer the best sound/comfort combo.
