Join us as we wrap up our StoryMakers Festival with a Block Party hosted by No Kings Collective. Artists Jamilla Okubo, MISS CHELOVE, and Kimchi Juice will create live murals at Apple Carnegie Library and talk about what inspires their designs. Then you’ll get hands-on with iPad and Apple Pencil to create your own art by combining textiles, photos, and typography. ASL interpretation provided.

Mixed-media Artist

Jamilla Okubo is a mixed-media artist whose work addresses topics of identity. Inspired by the art of storytelling, she rotates between collage, painting, fashion design, and screen printing.

Cita Sadeli, known as MISS CHELOVE, is a designer whose work connects a background rooted in Indonesian mysticism to growing up in the punk, go-go, and graffiti-fueled streets of 1980s Washington, D.C.

Julia Chon, known as Kimchi Juice, is an artist who has painted murals and participated in exhibitions across the U.S. She has collaborated with Planned Parenthood, D.C. United, and the Korean Embassy.
