    Automatic wireless backup.

AirPort Time Capsule includes a 2TB or 3TB hard drive that works with Time Machine in OS X to create the perfect no-hassle backup solution.1 There are no cables, and you can back up all the Mac computers in your home to a central location — automatically, wirelessly, and in the background.

    Ultra-fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

With 802.11ac technology and a powerful beamforming antenna array, AirPort Time Capsule gives you up to 3x faster Wi-Fi and a stronger, clearer signal.2 And because it transmits at both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies at the same time, your wireless devices will automatically connect to the best available band for the fastest performance possible.

    image.alt.pdp-airport-design

    Designed with performance in mind.

With the antennas at the top of the elevated design, AirPort Time Capsule now has a higher platform for dispersing the signal. We also increased the number of antennas. There are now six of them — three for the 2.4GHz band and three for the 5GHz band. Together with 802.11ac technology, they let you connect faster, farther, and with more power than ever before.

    image.alt.pdp-airport-setup

Easy setup for iOS and OS X.

Connect your DSL or cable modem to AirPort Time Capsule and use the built-in setup assistant to create your new wireless network in just a few taps from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. If you’re using a Mac, use the built-in AirPort Utility. Setup is just as fast and just as easy.

    image.alt.pdp-airport-share

Share your hard drive or printer.

AirPort Time Capsule can turn any external USB hard drive into a secure drive you can share across your Wi-Fi network. So all the documents, videos, photos and other files instantly become available to anyone, Mac and PC users alike. You can even connect a printer and share it wirelessly.

    Compatibility and security.

Any Wi-Fi device you have will work with AirPort Time Capsule. That’s because it’s compatible with devices using the 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n and 802.11ac specifications. And since AirPort Time Capsule features a built-in firewall that protects your network from malicious Internet attacks, you can enjoy the web with peace of mind.

      Magic

I have a Sky Hub which I thought was doing well until i met this baby. We live in an Apple household, 2 iPads, 3 iPhone, a Mac and an Apple TV3 and 4 so I thought it made sense to have an Apple Network to use them with. Also given the fact that we have 3.80 download speed on rural boardband anything is worth a try. So plugged into the Sky Hub, popped up Airport Utility on the Mac and within minutes it had run the set up itself and bang it was done. The longest part of the whole process was reseting the Belkin Extenders I have but that was not its fault. So does it make a difference to my board band speeds, well yes and no and here's where the magic is. I still get 3.80 download speed but before say when I was downloading a large file, my wife was streaming on her iPad and the kids where watching Netflix on the Apple Tv, something had to give - usually me. It just couldn't cope. However with this one week later we can pretty much do all our own thing at the same time without noticing any slow down - amazing. The download is still 3.80. In terms of Back-Up = be warned the first one takes forever and was the only time the Network slowed down, the first night therefore can be a bit depressing but hold your guns, after that you'll start to notice the difference. Further back-up's have been small and quick and not even noticed. So given all that I have began to replace the Belkin Extenders with the Airport Express - first one set up today and making the whole thing run even better! It is in the office with my Mac and boy do they love with other. Last word - worth every penny, no more Dad running around turning of devices to cope with bad boardband - fiddling with Sky Hub settings to change channels etc etc etc. Goodbye to all that!

      Very disapointed

Bought the new time capsule when I up graded desk top and lap top. Unit is very disapointing. My mobile devices constantly fall off the wifi and I must re boot Bought the new time capsule when I up graded desk top and lap top. Unit is very disapointing. My mobile devices constantly fall off the wifi and I must re boot to frequently to re establish connectivity. Using the time capsule, the unit also looses the ip of the desk top (hard wired to it) and the lap top pro. You get one back up and then you must reboot the device and modem. Hate it, have re connected my old airport (works like a charm) and will be throwing this time capsule in the bin,

      Perfection in every aspect

I have virgin fibre optic internet service and used to use their super hub 2. Speed was never reaching the limit I'm paying for 200MB/s unless connect via Ether I have virgin fibre optic internet service and used to use their super hub 2. Speed was never reaching the limit I'm paying for 200MB/s unless connect via Ethernet. Also wifi signal kept dropping at least once every two days. Also the signal never reached the entire house. A year ago I went for a new MacBook and bought this baby just to use it as a back up drive and thinking the wifi signal would not be different , never been so delighted to be wrong. This router solved all the aforementioned problems and now my wifi connection is perfect : reaching maximum speed I pay for (when checked with Speedtest app or website) and stays max even if far from the router. A year down the line and I have not had a single occasions of dropping signals!!! The signal is strong anywhere in the house and the backup function for the MacBook is a breeze ( runs in the background without affecting the wifi signal in anyway) If you are thinking about a new router/ hub with additional back up feature then look no further. Worth every penny and money well spent!! P.S the same poor performance noticed with Virgin Superhub 3 when recently upgraded my speed to 300Mb, I now believe these hubs supplied by your ISP is designed in a way to limit the service you get but customers never get informed about this !!!
