Apple’s commitment to the environment includes finding the most efficient ways to reuse or recycle electronic equipment at the end of its useful life, including iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC computers, smartphones and displays from any manufacturer. You may even get some money for your old equipment.
Get value from your old equipment.
With the Reuse and Recycling Programme, you could turn your old equipment into a brand-new Mac, iPod, iPhone or iPad.
Whether it’s an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or an eligible smartphone or PC from other manufacturers, we’ll take it and determine if it qualifies for reuse and has a monetary value. If it does, you’ll get credit for its value. If it doesn’t, you can recycle it responsibly through one of our free recycling programmes.
How to get started:
- Tell us about your device.
Check if your iPhone, iPad, Mac, smartphone or PC from other manufactures qualifies for the Apple Reuse and Recycling Programme.
- Get your estimate and ship your device.
Apple works with external partners to estimate the fair market value of your device. The external partners will provide convenient pre-paid options to package and ship your product to their facility for evaluation.
- Get credit for your device.
If your device qualifies you will receive an Apple Store Gift Card (iPad, iPhone or eligible smartphones) or a transfer direct to your bank account (Mac and PCs) for its value.
The Reuse and Recycling Programme is operated by Brightstar (iPad, iPhone or eligible smartphones) and Dataserv GmbH (Mac and PCs).
Get free recycling with every new Mac.
When you purchase a qualifying Mac or Apple display from an Apple Retail Store or Apple Premium Reseller, you can participate in the Apple Recycling Programme. Purchase any qualifying electronic equipment and receive free recycling of your old computer and monitor at any Apple Retail Store or Apple Premium Reseller within 30 days — regardless of manufacturer.1
Recycle even if you’re not buying a new Mac.
If you haven’t bought a Mac or if you can’t bring in your Mac, you can take it to a local authority collection point. Visit www.recycle-more.co.uk to find your nearest collection point. For more information, contact:
