Memory

This Mac mini comes standard with 4GB of 1600MHz LPDDR3 memory. Please note that the memory is built into the computer, so if you think you may need more memory in the future, it is important to upgrade at the time of purchase.

More memory (RAM) increases performance and enables your computer to perform faster and better. Choose additional 1600MHz LPDDR3 memory for your Mac mini.

The more memory your computer has, the more programs you can run simultaneously, and the better performance you get from your computer.

  • Select the standard memory configuration to support day-to-day tasks such as email, word processing and web browsing, as well as more complex tasks such as editing photos, creating illustrations and building presentations.
  • Upgrade your memory to enjoy greater performance for more intensive computing tasks or multitasking. Your Mac mini uses one of the fastest memory technologies available today — 1600MHz Low-Power Double Data Rate 3 (LPDDR3) synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM) — ensuring that the processor is constantly fed with data without wasting clock cycles.

Storage

Storage

Your Mac mini comes with a large Serial ATA hard drive. Choose Fusion Drive for more storage and better performance.

About Serial ATA Hard Drives

Serial ATA hard drives offer high capacity to store your apps, files and digital media.

About Fusion Drive

Fusion Drive combines 128GB of super-fast flash storage with a traditional hard drive. And it’s up to 4x faster than a 5400-rpm hard drive.* It automatically and dynamically moves frequently used files to flash for quicker access. With Fusion Drive in your Mac mini, booting up, copying files and importing photos are faster. Over time, as the system learns how you work, Fusion Drive makes your Mac experience even better. All while letting you store your digital life on a traditional, roomy hard drive.

Note: 1GB = 1 billion bytes; 1TB = 1 trillion bytes. Actual formatted capacity less.

*Testing conducted by Apple in October 2014 using pre-production 2.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5–based Mac mini units with a 1TB Fusion Drive and pre-production 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5–based Mac mini units with a 1TB 5400-rpm hard drive, all configured with 8GB RAM. Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of Mac mini.

Apple HDMI to DVI Adapter

Apple HDMI to DVI Adapter

The Apple HDMI to DVI Adapter allows you to connect your Mac with built-in HDMI to a DVI display or projector. You can use an external display as your primary display, extend your desktop to a second display, or work in mirroring mode with a projector so you can view what your audience sees.

Use the HDMI to DVI Adapter to connect a single-link DVI digital monitor, such as the 20-inch or 23-inch Apple Cinema Display, that includes a DVI connector. Review the documentation or check with the manufacturer of your monitor to make sure you're choosing the right adapter.

Mouse or Trackpad

Mouse or Trackpad

Both Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2 are wireless and rechargeable — so you won’t have to replace any batteries — and are a perfect complement to your Mac mini. You can also connect your own USB or Bluetooth mouse.

Magic Mouse 2

The design of Magic Mouse 2 lets it glide smoothly across your desk. And since it supports Multi-Touch, you can use simple gestures on its surface to do things such as swipe between web pages and scroll through documents. So if you prefer using a wireless mouse and want some of the benefits of Multi-Touch, Magic Mouse 2 is a great choice.

Magic Trackpad 2

If you prefer using a trackpad, Magic Trackpad 2 gives you the full range of Multi-Touch gestures and introduces Force Touch technology to the desktop. Sensors underneath the trackpad surface detect subtle differences in the amount of pressure you apply, bringing more functionality to your fingertips and enabling a deeper connection to your content. The design also features a lower profile, making it even more comfortable to use.

Apple Mouse

The wired Apple Mouse features a scroll ball that lets you move anywhere inside a document without lifting a finger. And with touch-sensitive technology concealed under the seamless top shell, you can choose either the versatility of a four-button mouse or the simplicity of a single-button beauty. The Apple Mouse is powered by a precision optical sensor.
