      Second one to die

Why are Apple still selling this product? This one has died with all of my time machine backups on it after 3 months. I'm hoping Apple will honour the warranty, Why are Apple still selling this product? This one has died with all of my time machine backups on it after 3 months. I'm hoping Apple will honour the warranty, as G-Technology let me register this on their website, but now say 'go back to reseller'. OK Apple. I'm here again.

      Simply efficient!

Can't understand the negative comments. Difficult set up? You just plug it in! Broken connectors? Pull the USB out by the plug not the cable! For goodness sakes Can't understand the negative comments. Difficult set up? You just plug it in! Broken connectors? Pull the USB out by the plug not the cable! For goodness sakes...Apple sell it on line and in store, do you really believe they would sell a product that did not reflect their own excellence? Yeh, just perhaps, one or two (out of millions) 'might' play up, but, it's got a TWO YEAR GUARANTEE. Just buy it, and, if it ain't right and you have a legitimate reason for an incorrect purchase.....take it back!

      I'm buying another

I have 4 of these drives now. I'm buying another too because they are cheap storage. Now, other customers have had issues with their units but of the 4 I have, I have 4 of these drives now. I'm buying another too because they are cheap storage. Now, other customers have had issues with their units but of the 4 I have, I've not had a single problem. I normally change drive systems every few years anyway so I only want these until I go USB-C SSD but I'm happy with the performance up to now. They're quiet, don't get warm, fast enough and so small and light they make travelling with easy. Obviously, take note of other reviewers problems but I haven't had a bad day with any of the units I've purchased over the last two years.

The USB socket broke off. Not recommended.

Had this drive for about 3 months. The actual port that you plug the cable in to has broken clean off the workings inside and fallen into the case. So now it's Had this drive for about 3 months. The actual port that you plug the cable in to has broken clean off the workings inside and fallen into the case. So now it's just a gaping hole, with no way to actually plug the cable in. Fingers-crossed I'm able to save my data by opening the thing up and moving the inner hard drive into another casing, but this NOT a drive I would recommend if your data matters.
