Expensive but worth it for convenience

Bought the Lightwave link plus, dimmer and socket. No problems setting the devices up and no problems with the link plus updating. Bought the product mainly due Bought the Lightwave link plus, dimmer and socket. No problems setting the devices up and no problems with the link plus updating. Bought the product mainly due to having a light switch behind a door; however having it all working with HomeKit/Siri and Alexa has made a massive difference. The dimmer works flawlessly and the plug sockets have been great. Waiting for Lightwaverf to release a single socket so that I can update other sockets in the house. The HomeKit function makes linking devices easy and allows automation with other products. Haven’t really used app after setup but seemed to work ok. Great product, with great future potential.

Good product, only a bit confusing, hence the negative reviews here.

I bought the Link Plus Hub and several switches so let me clear the confusion, I managed to connect my devices to Homekit and Alexa, so i can vouch that the pro I bought the Link Plus Hub and several switches so let me clear the confusion, I managed to connect my devices to Homekit and Alexa, so i can vouch that the product works. However, I encountered a few road blocks which I think may have also led to some of the negative remarks here. 1. Confusing application name. There are 2 apps for iOS and 2 Skills in Alexa that if you get the wrong one, will result in no devices found. Be sure to download the correct one. For Gen 2 devices, connect via "Lightwave Link Plus" and NOT "Lightwave RF Home Automation" for the iOS app. For Alexa skills, enable the "Lightwave Link Plus" and NOT the "LightwaveRF". If a device has been paired before, deleting the device from the app is not enough, you need to clear the device memory before the device can go into pairing mode again. There are some of the issues, I've faced. So far, once it's set up, it works fine. I give it a four star before it causes some confusion and also, I live in Singapore, so the dusk and dawn time is incorrect; I've written to Lightwave for help. Negativity aside, I think Lightwave products are great, especially if you live in SIngapore where most houses does not have a neutral line for their light switches. It is a little pricey but it is a very good quality product. I find the "lock" function that allows you to lock your devices from physical control a great feature that I find myself using. Hope this review helps to clear the confusion and helps you to make a better decision if you are considering to get one for yourself.

All in all a bit of a shambles, hopefully they will update the app soon so I can actually open it again

Pricey but has been reliable and works well with Homekit

These are pricey but then again there’s not a lot of competition. I needed two dimmers for main lights in the lounge and dining room and this does the job perfe These are pricey but then again there’s not a lot of competition. I needed two dimmers for main lights in the lounge and dining room and this does the job perfectly. Being able to contol the colour and brightness of the on/off LED is also a bonus. Setup was easy and I’m no electrician! I’d give them 5 starts but marked down one for price.

      Expensive but reliable and quick

I’ve invested heavily in LightwaveRF Gen2 with over 8 light switches, central heating controller, 4 TRVs and 9 sockets. Installation and pairing was a dream, I’ve invested heavily in LightwaveRF Gen2 with over 8 light switches, central heating controller, 4 TRVs and 9 sockets. Installation and pairing was a dream, the new App finally allows you to dim the LEDs on the sockets and light switches. Firstly there are two ways you can setup automations, via HomeKit or the LightwaveRF App. The latter you are restricted to timers and thats pretty much it, however I’m a beta tester and wow considerably better, they are getting close to matching HomeKit with the type of automations, but no idea when that will be moved to a public release. My preference is to use native automations as you don’t need WiFi or another box for them to run, so quicker and more reliable. Control via their App or HomeKit is the quickest I’ve seen, I’ve had all the major brands and technologies but nothing comes close to the speed of these devices. Siri and Alexa integration is amazing, Alexa is a little slower to respond compared to Siri. Siri integration is faultless working every time with devices and scenes, you can get temperature readings from the central heating thermostat and TRVs In general LightwaveRF Gen2 is worth the investment its expensive but the hardware is the best I’ve seen so far, once they release the features from their Beta App to the public one then they would have nailed it. I’ve given it 4 stars because they don’t have a great range of 2nd generation equipment and their public App is very basic. Word of warning if you’re using the dimmers ensure you go for good quality and named branded dimmable bulbs and at lease 12w in total, difficult if you only have a single bulb fitting, otherwise you will have issues.
