The Screen Manager software doesn't support screen split or monitor control and it doesn't come back to life after I put it in to sleep mode - I either have to open and close the lid of my MacBook or unplug the monitor. I've tried both USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 cables for connectivity. I purchased this monitor as I thought it would 'just work' as Apple products do. It feels very third party, which I understand it is, but unless these issues are fixed in the next fortnight, i.e. my return period, I'll be sending it back. It looks beautiful, but it's disappointing. I would rather keep the monitor as aesthetically it looks nice, the screen is beautiful and it charges my MacBook Pro 15", but if it can't work as it's supposed to, the frustration kills creativity.

It's a really nice bright glossy panel with a really good wide colour range. The design is rather boring and the bezels a tad thick, but really happy with this display overall.

Failed suddenly after 24 mths and crashes any connected Mac

I'm unable to update firmware with LG Screen manager - even remoting in as it freezes whilst the monitor plugged in via USB-C. Tried another MBP and a mac-mini and the same happens, screen blank and computer freezes. Needless to say it's out of warranty. I don't think I have ever bought anything digital that has failed so quickly. I understand from the forums that many other customers have had the same issue & the 22MD4KA has been withdrawn from sale by Apple, but now seems to have re-appeared. It was great while it lasted, but now I have a £600 brick that's out of warranty.

      A brilliant monitor

I've been running 2 older Dell 2408WFP 1920x1200 DVI-D monitors off my 15" MacBook Pro (4x Thunderbolt 3) using StarTech USB-C to DVI-D cables. No dongles. I've been running 2 older Dell 2408WFP 1920x1200 DVI-D monitors off my 15" MacBook Pro (4x Thunderbolt 3) using StarTech USB-C to DVI-D cables. No dongles. But one monitor died and I replaced it with the new 4K TB3 display with the intent to buy a second one late to daisy chain. So. It just works. Powers the MacBook. Bright. Stable. Great colour, and integrates perfectly into the display controls in MacOS 10.14.5 (and may do with earlier versions, but that's what I'm using). From sleep wakes half a second after the MacBook display. No Issues. And for a bonus, I can plug the remaining Dell display's USB-C to DVI cable into the TB3 out on the back of monitor and daisy chain. So that doesn't just work with TB3 kit. If you're using a dongle then you should be able to plug that dongle into the TB3 out and daisy chain. So one cable doing power and two monitors despite one monitor being a decade legacy jobbie.
