  • Overview

The 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Air stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect travelling companion, the adapter has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air featuring MagSafe 2 power port.

As others have said - it splits and frays really easily. Honestly, this charger is sooo poor, I'm contemplating going back to Windows. I'm sick and tired of spending £65 on these useless pieces of #### There, I said it... this charger is ####! At least make it so the flimsy end can be detached and easily replaced. What a waste... I have four broken charger units in a box.... and about to order another. £325 on chargers.... Flimsy at best

Second power pack now that's frayed at the joint with the magnetic head. And yet I'm expected to pay for a replacement each time!

I am now on my third adapter in 18 months. How Apple can make such brilliant computers, but then power them with such a shoddy power accessory is beyond me. They clearly are not reading these reviews - every single adapter has terrible ratings and all for the same reasons. Apple: get your act together and stop producing junk and charging loyal customers huge amounts for a basic necessity.

Poor quality cable with short lifespan and no ability to buy separate components - which is not only a waste of money but an unsustainable and short-sighted mistake. The charger is flimsy and easily damaged, particularly at the head where the thin cable is unsupported. Very unhappy with the product's longevity and price. Surprised that Apple haven't picked up on this because many others seem to have had similar issues and feel the same way.

      Poor Quality

The charger cable frayed at the base - not acceptable as it has been well looked after.
