The only thing I could fault at a push is the Bluetooth connection between the device your music is on (e.g: iPad, iPod, iPhone) and the headphones themselves. When biking or running the Bluetooth connection can cut out intermittently if the phone is pressed up against your pocket for example. Apart from that I cannot fault these earphones as they work seamlessly and provide excellent sound quality. Would recommend.

      Design failure?

Initially bought (Shock Yellow) Dec 2016, product failed in July. Replaced at Apple Store as Genius couldn't do anything with them including reading the serial Initially bought (Shock Yellow) Dec 2016, product failed in July. Replaced at Apple Store as Genius couldn't do anything with them including reading the serial number from the cable! Second unit, now only 3-4 weeks old, are failing as well. Within 30 minutes in the gym, they randomly turn off. Sometimes they turn back on, most of the time you get three white flashes and nothing else. The new set do turn on again after being left for a few minutes but are likely to go the same way as the first set. Unfortunately, this seems be an all too common fault reported on numerous online customer reviews. Apparently Apple Store aren't meant to replace (I'm sure there's a trading standards issue here?) and Beats want me to send the unit back for them to replace - meaning I will be without for some time (which I suppose won't matter once they completely fail like the old set). When working they sound great, sound quality in good with good balance between bass and upper tones. The fit takes a few wears to bed in and battery lasts a long time. I would love to be able to recommend these but given the failure rate, especially it seems if they are used in the gym (active wear?), they seem to have a serious design fault and need a recall - or Apple need to hold up their hands and state these are not sweat proof. The product description reads: Sweat and water resistance provides trusted durability. Apple are loosing my trust here.

Surprisingly good for bluetooth in earphones

I wanted an earphone that would be good for both gym and walking and the Powerbeats 3 are comfortable and usually remain in position what ever the activity. The I wanted an earphone that would be good for both gym and walking and the Powerbeats 3 are comfortable and usually remain in position what ever the activity. They are comfortable for my ears too. I have read different reviews of these and many other phones and notice that there is a very wide range of performance assessment. I listen to EDM and mostly Techno. The bass response is good, the mid's uncluttered and the hi's are clear and crisp without being shrill. Perhaps the problem is the file quality of the music being listen to that determines the response. Most streamed music and downloaded mixes are very low bit rate mp3s. I notice that 128Kbps or lower certain takes the shine off these earphones but with 320 they start to wake up. I DJ and only use AIFF which are uncompressed files and similar to Wav. Those unmixed tracks that I store on my iPhone in the original uncompressed state make these earphones come alive! So the old adage of 'rubbish in. rubbish out' may well apply to earphones too.

      Disappointed

I am now on my fourth pair of beats and Just had to ask for my money back. Do not buy these earphones! The sweat gets into the volume buttons and the earphones break.

I have now had two sets fail with the same faults, skipping tracks, volume up and down and not turning off. First pair lasted 3 months of light use in the gym and park running and about the same for the second set. I have a third set (purchased for my partner) but not sure if I want to risk using them in the gym as they are not sweet proof and I suspect they will go the same way as the other two sets.
