      Very Expensive

Needed a replacement because the buttons on my original remote started jamming. Caused all sorts of problems & had to change it when the Vol+ button stuck down Needed a replacement because the buttons on my original remote started jamming. Caused all sorts of problems & had to change it when the Vol+ button stuck down & my Sonos speakers nearly blew out the windows! Battery seemed to last a long time on the old one. Too soon to tell on the new one. Touch pad very sensitive, it's easy to accidentally change things. Body of the remote is very slippery so often slips out of my hand. Siri works OK 70% of the time. Overall it's more style over function & very expensive for what it does.

You always whizz past it and have to try and navigate back to it. Also it’s too thin and very hard to hold comfortably – it’s thinness making it very easy to lose down the back of the couch. Plus it’s made of glass! What? Yes, it has a needless glass panel on the front. Ours is now shattered because the kids have dropped it several times onto the stone fireplace. So our once sleek remote is now held together with tape. I’ve just bought a big, thick rubber case for it, so that it can be protected and finally become ergonomic. A giant mistep by Apple who have forgotten that TVs reside in actual houses (that have messy kids in them), not futuristic flying saucer office complexes.

      Very remote likability

Watching a film with the lights out, having been initially unable to find it, picking up the remote caused the film I was watching to rewind. And that’s just th Watching a film with the lights out, having been initially unable to find it, picking up the remote caused the film I was watching to rewind. And that’s just the start of the issues with this remote. Don’t even get me started on trying to make sure it’s facing the right way up, again when using with the lights out. It’s too dark, too light and the swiping element is horrendously unpredictable in every day use. Siri is ok, but overall, going back to the old silver one with a Siri add on would be the best solution. Apple TV-great. Siri remote, anything but.

      Too slippery

Slips out of hands too easily. No backlight so not great if using with darkened room such as with home cinema. looks good but tricky to tell which way is up to Slips out of hands too easily. No backlight so not great if using with darkened room such as with home cinema. looks good but tricky to tell which way is up too! Very easy to turn on Apple TV accidently if laid down too heavily or touched and therefore if using CEC setup for other equipment, you end up with home cinema turned on! better than previous remote though and volume function is good along with voice search which works well.
