  • Overview

    More magical than ever.

The new AirPods — complete with Wireless Charging Case — deliver the wireless headphone experience, reimagined. Just pull them out of the case and they’re ready to use with your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac.

After a simple one-tap setup, AirPods work like magic. They’re automatically on and always connected. AirPods can even sense when they’re in your ears and pause when you take them out.

To adjust the volume, change the song, make a call or even get directions, simply say “Hey Siri” and make your request. You have the freedom to wear one or both AirPods, and you can play or skip forward with a double-tap when listening to music or podcasts.

Charge your AirPods quickly and easily with the Wireless Charging Case. Just set the case down on a Qi-compatible charging mat and let it charge. The LED indicator on the front of the case lets you know that your AirPods are charging. And when you’re away from a charging mat, you can use the Lightning port to charge.

AirPods deliver 5 hours of listening time1 and 3 hours of talk time on a single charge.2 And they’re made to keep up with you, thanks to a Wireless Charging Case that holds multiple charges for more than 24 hours of listening time.3 Need a quick charge? Just 15 minutes in the case gives you 3 hours of listening time4 or 2 hours of talk time.5

Powered by the all-new Apple H1 headphone chip, AirPods use optical sensors and motion accelerometers to detect when they’re in your ears. Whether you’re using both AirPods or just one, the H1 chip automatically routes the audio and engages the microphone. And when you’re on a call or talking to Siri, an additional speech-detecting accelerometer works with beamforming microphones to filter out external noise and focus on the sound of your voice.

Listening to a track with a slow bass drum beat I could actually hear the qualities of the synthetic material being struck, not only that, I had a piano inside my head! Somehow the upgraded bluetooth and H1 processor have made an already excellent sounding product completely disappear into a world of real music and sounds. I am not overstating this, these new AirPods sound great! My experience of "Hey Siri" has been a bit hit and miss however you can change the double tap behaviour to activate Sire just like the old AirPods did. I also find that I have to frequently adjust the AirPods in my slightly off-spec ears which I imagine a lot of people are equipped with: Apple should release a silicone or rough latex cover to help keep these AirPods secure in different designs of ears. The two flaws I've mentioned should bring the rating down to three stars, however because I've been so impressed by the sound quality I actually am struggling not to give them the full five stars.

I only have to charge 1 to 2 times per week and super fast charge inside the case. I've got quite a few in ear and over ear headphones and these are my favourite for just being out and about. no matter which of my ear/headphones (aiaiai tma-1, b&w c5, b&w p3, Bose soundsport) I wear they always end up hurting after an hour or so, not with the AirPods, I don't even realise they're in

      Yet another badly executed product

What’s the deal with double tap only working once? If that’s not bad enough I had a bent iPad Pro OUT OF THE BOX that is within engineering parameters. Than What’s the deal with double tap only working once? If that’s not bad enough I had a bent iPad Pro OUT OF THE BOX that is within engineering parameters. Thank god my Network provider is shipping a replacement so I don’t have to listen to the sanctimonious BS the Genius Tech’s provide. Buy with Apple and the Bend is within tolerance, no action taken. Get your spirit levels ready, check it and send it straight back to them if it is and buy another. 12 years with Apple and in the past few years it’s one issue after another after another after another or they pull products. Time to end your constant drivel and man up! Bent is acceptable my backside. Build me a flat iPad for £1669 you arrogant bunch of (Insert a word to choose) It’s getting VERY old.

I love that they connected instantly out of the box to my iPhone and they switch seamlessly between other Apple devices. Stick them back in the case when done and they can even charge wirelessly on a Qi-enabled charging puck. The microphones are also exceptional. Using them for calls nobody could tell I was wearing earphones. The tap for commands is also a great idea too. And that is where my love of them ends. The sound quality is average, no bass and does very little to drown out ambient noise. I also found them unusable on flights. Not what you expect when you pay big money for earphones. Then there is the fit. Great for people with smaller ear canal openings. But mine kept slipping round and falling out. I have decided to take them back.
