According to the following release dates the SE was released after the 6S Plus. Therefore, according to Apple's statements, it will work.

    iPhone 6 (Plus) September 19, 2014
    iPhone 6S (Plus) September 25, 2015
    iPhone SE March 31, 2016
    iPhone 7 (Plus) September 16, 2016
    iPhone 8 (Plus) September 22, 2017
    iPhone X November 3, 2017

  • Hi Melissa : I am not sure if you are talking about just released Apple Watch Series 3 ? Below is your answer if we are talking about series 3.

Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) requires an iPhone 5s or later with iOS 11 or later. Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) requires an iPhone 6 or later with iOS 11 or later. Apple Watch and iPhone service provider must be the same. Cellular is not available with all service providers. Not all service providers support enterprise accounts. Check with your employer and service provider. Roaming is not available outside your carrier network coverage area. Wireless service plan required for cellular service. Contact your service provider for more details.

If you are buying series 3 watch then YES it is compatible with your SE phone.

  • Following up with answer you gave, I am still confused. You say that the apple watch 3 (GPS and cellular) will work with iphone 6 and beyond, but I don't know if SE fits this, since to my recollection iphone SE may be between 5 and 6, thus not "6 or later". Your answer does not explicitly say that the iphone SE (with an additional $10/ month with t-mobile, FYI) will work with the apple watch 3 (GPS and cellular). The whole point is that I want to be able to receive and make phone calls on my apple watch 3 (GPS+cellular) when my iphone SE is not near.
