Can I export photos from my MacBook Pro to this drive? I am looking for backup and storage for my photo library.

This is not a storage device. You connect this to your computer and it allows you to play and burn CDs and DVDs. You can use it to burn a CD or DVD with your photos on. I personally would use an external hard drive to backup my photos, rather than CDs or DVDs.
