    Very very poor quality

Terrible quality, plastic head cracks within a few moths of using. Joining rubber split so metal is exposed. Don’t buy unless you want to set your house on fire or get an electric shock.

    Below expectations and dangerous

Initially pleased with the cable due to its length and the benefits that provided. I now have 2 of these cables which have had problems very quickly (within 2 months of use). Similar to other reviewers, wires are now exposed and dangerous. Far from being just an expensive waste of money, these are dangerous and need supervised use. They are supposed to be a quality product. I have concluded that gravity is an issue as the pull separates the components, therefore exposing the wires.

I bought this cable from an Apple Store after being recommended it by a shop assistant who assured me this would be as good quality as an official Apple cable due to it being an approved accessory.
Initially, the cable seems to be of good quality... This was short lived. After approximately 1 month use, the cable began to part at the lightning connector head. I was very careful. After 2 months of being even more gentle, the wires were exposing even more. Eventually, the cable gave up and won't charge my phone.
Very disappointing from an approved accessory.

Very poor quality. Do not buy!

Initially, I was pleased to have such a long, apparently sturdy cable, but within three months of normal use, the wires became exposed. I had always taken great care to remove it gently, holding onto the protective plastic piece where it inserts into the iPad. The cable is heavier and stiffer than Apple's own cables and I can only conclude that the fraying is due to the effect of gravity pulling on a weak area near the protective plastic insert. I have had numerous cables for various devices and have never had this problem before. It actually gave me an electric shock!

I had it for a few months and it was good; charged my phone with no issues. All of a sudden today I smelt burning and I found the end of this lead was melted into my carpet! Lucky I found it when I did it could have set my front room alight with my baby in it!!

This product is absolutely shocking. Broken twice in 4 weeks. Having returned to Covent Garden to then issue with another fault item. Will be writing a formal complain to apple for selling fault items.

A great replacement for Apple's own charge lead.

    • Written by Mark B from Leamington Spa

I purchased this as my original Apple charge lead has already started to fray at the 'Lighting' end already after a short time.

This Belkin one is longer and the design material of the lead looks to be of a thicker and higher quality that others. I've been using it now for a few days and found no issues or problems with it.

I would recommend this item if your looking for a new/replacement lead for your device and one that is much longer then leads included with iPhones and iPads.
