    Not fully compatible

    • Written by Andrew B from Twickenham

I tried in the Apple store in Kingston UK and controller worked to a point with my game War Robots. Some functions didn’t work so didn’t buy. Apple staff completely useless and I was left to try controller on my own.

    Save your cash

    • Written by Jesse C from Midvale

    Pros: Nice build quality.
    - No Charge Cable
    - Not configurable
    - Buttons don't work

Purchased for war robots but just not useable.

    Bottom line: Look elsewhere.

Product feels solid and good quality. The Nimbus pairs to the Apple TV or iPhone very easily and uses the lightning charger, everything is very convenient.

At first glance I thought this item was expensive but compared to other controllers its actually quite reasonable, for example other brands charge extra for a rechargable battery pack but this is included in the initial price for the Nimbus.

    Not Competent

    • Written by Amad C from London

I bought this thinking that I will be able to use all the keys on the controller and I was so disappointed. I bought it today and ups is coming tomorrow to collect it. I used it with walking war robots on iPad Air 2. The controller is well built and I was quite impressed by the weight to it but when it got connected and I started the game, turns out I can use the both joysticks for navigation but to fire or use other features such as the robots special features of carnage, I had to use the on screen buttons so other than two joysticks no other button is useable. They have not integrated well into the software. What's the point of buying an expensive controller and not being able to fully use it. And I did try it with other games as well for example racing games work OK as the require the joysticks but again all the other buttons on controller don't do nothing.

    No charging instructions or cable!

    • Written by Christopher R L from Liege

Needs a lightning cable to charge it: OK, I've a couple, but how cheap can you get to not include one in the box. I hunted high and low and figured I'd been sold a duff deal, but checked here and saw that others made the same comment. Duh!

It's no big deal to figure out, but there are also no instructions whatsoever on how to recharge the controller. I know it's obvious, once you've figured out that it'd done via lightning cable, but none of that gets a mention in the somewhat worthless booklet Mind you it begs the question of how long you have to charge for (both initially and for top-ups).

I tested it out in the Apple Store and it's alot better than Apple's Remote. Remains to be seen whether it lasts the course.

The best MFi controller yet but...

    • Written by Simon W from Norton

This is an excellent controller to use, very comfortable with well laid out buttons and properly shaped triggers. The convenience of charging via Lightning cable is also fantastic, although the battery life is so long it rarely needs a charge. When switched on it will automatically connect to the last device it was paired with but it can also be easily connected to another device if you want to switch from playing on the iPad to the Apple TV.

However, there is a significant fly in the ointment. After only two months one of the buttons has stopped working and Apple will not replace it. Instead they want me to RMA it via SteelSeries who are in Denmark. SteelSeries in turn won't send a replacement but instead give me credit to buy a new one from their website. This is all a huge hassle and has left me with a seriously bad impression of Apple's support.

Only get one of these if you're willing to jump through many hoops and be without the controller for weeks if it breaks.

    Nimbus wireless controller

    • Written by wayne C from west bromwich

Bought this controller a week ago from the apple shop, it's a good solid controller works with my apple tv 4 and ipad and iphone, the cost is about what i woulld expect to pay, the price is equal to an xbox controller or playstation controller so people saying that its expensive need to have a look at the other controllers cost, it has a built in battery unlike xbox contollers, for the same price and charges from a lightening cable, apple need to get more apps that support this controller

    Great But

    • Written by Richard S from Exmouth

Got this for xmas from my lovely wife. Great product which feels great quality when using. Was great that it works with my Imac as well as my apple TV which was a bonus to me as had just downloaded Elite Dangerous and playing on a keyboard is not easy. My only gripe would be that for the cost of it, I was disappointed that you didn't get a lightning cable to charge it in the box. Fine if you have the new apple TV or an Iphone with a cable but if you don't this is a bit like getting a christmas present without the batteries!!

Have spent all day to get these to work with new Apple TV and they seem erratic and unreliable (we got two), even some basic instructions would help, it's finding and 'connecting' them but it stops there and we keep having to revert to the Apple TV remote....a pain in the posterior to be honest.

    Sticky joystick

    • Written by Colin A from Liverpool

I am now on my second Nimbus from Apple as I took my first one back on the 12th December 2015, it feels nice to hold and does not feel cheap but on using it on the Apple TV I have found that the left hand joystick keeps sticking and not returning to the neutral position. It was replaced with a new one but that has also gone the same way as the first on so I will return that one as well for yet again another. They have only had light use.
