    Top rate

This has exceeded all expectations. I had nearly been put off by earlier reviews, but I am thrilled with it.

Installation: I bought a simple adsl/vdsl modem for this. Very straight forward.
You then need to download the (excellent) App. Follow the instructions.
I needed to manually input my ISP login and password.
The rest was ultra-easy. Connect one node at a time.
The App is brilliant! Dead easy to add a guest network and see what devices are connected, prioritise up to three devices, etc.
Our WiFi is now transformed. Well worth the (high) expense. Wish I had done this some time ago.

Great router, but doesn't support network devices such as NAS drives

    • Written by Jonathan R from East Molesey

I bought this router to assist a colleague who was having wifi problems with his home network - a two-node system was set up really quickly, but he immediately lost all access to his NAS drive, running via a Pi using OMV - he could browse to the device, but no content appeared. We installed a TPLink Archer instead, and instantly all problems were solved. I then tried a node on my own SOHO network, replacing a reliable but ageing AirPort Extreme. Again, set up was fast and easy, and I found I was getting faster download web access times than before. But, again, my NAS drive is completely uncontactable - *really annoyingly* it appears in the list of connected devices in the LinkSys app (another great feature), but I cannot even connect to it via the Apple Finder or it's own GUI via the IP address. All in all, a great router for gaming devices and iPads, but not good enough if you want to run a typical SOHO set up. A traditional router, like the C9 is a much better bet.

    Dire software + unreliable hardward

    • Written by Nicholas R from Edinburgh

I will be returning this after 8 days trying it in a 3-story house with stone walls.

The system is configured with an iOS app. It is very poor. It helps you place the nodes once but will not help again if you move them. And it has no facility for deleting a node other than deleting the whole system and starting again.

When functioning properly, the hardware works well, but the satellite nodes (the ones not connected to the router) frequently become very slow, showing strong connections, but with ping times well over 2000ms. Sometimes, despite showing full strength Wifi, iPads, iPhones and Macs cannot download anything at all. (Turning WiFi on and off a few times usually fixes it.)

The system does support WPS through the app (though it's hard to find), but only one of my two printers would connect to it. The PIN method didn't work for the second (older) printer either.

I have just installed a Netgear Orbi 3-node system to replace it. The setup and software are much better, the hardware has a WPS button and three eithernet ports per node (rather than one) and (after admittedly only one hour's use) appears to be functioning much better. Among other things, both printers work.

I have been really pleased with the performance of this system. Strong stable wi-if signal. Setup took about 20 minutes or so, and was very easy following the app guidance.
I purchased this specifically to extend the reach of our network to cover a new Nest security camera, and this has worked from day one without a problem.
I have found the app very user friendly, and it gives me all the control I need.
    Great product.

    Lots of buds:
    1. Parental control is not working. Even i switch on this function and set the blocking time, the devices are still online all the time.
    2. Parental control not allow for guest access. (I called the helpline of Linksys for asking how to set the parental control, the assistant just keep asking why i need to have the parental control for guest access.)
    3. U cannot add the MAC address for filtering until the devices are connected to your wifi.
    4. U only allow to set 3 devices for high priority, but it doesnt mean the devices, which set for high priority were put on the high priority speed.
    5. Many of the settings through the website are failed to use and never allow to save your own setting. U only allow to set through the App. Unfortunately, u hv to set the time access of parental control through website setting.
